I've grabbed the other hand. Hugs a plenty xx

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 11:46

Am holding your hand too, Topsy. I'm betting on no spread too, and hoping you don't have to wait too long to find that out.

It's good to hear ds's friends had a good time at the theatre school, Smee. I think it should be right up her street. Most of the kids looked normal, only a couple looked like they might keep bursting into song and ACTING all the time Grin

smee · 30/07/2012 11:55

ooh look, Torch for Topsy. Burning bright. Smile

Laetissimus · 30/07/2012 12:08

Hi Sometimes & Smee - Thank you for your welcome .
I do not know when my Mri is - I am waiting for an appt but think it will be soon as the specialist wants the results back by the time I have another appt with her which is 21 Aug (3 weeks tomorrow)
It is the waiting part that is soooo agonising.
I sway from feeling ok to low which I guess is natural.
I love the wine emoticon as after work that seems to be what is getting me through Wine & also the odd bar of chocolate Smile

Figgyroll · 30/07/2012 12:20

Welcome Laetissimus, so sorry you're having to wait for your appointment. Waiting really is one of the worst things. I hope we can distract you.

Topsy, no more hands to hold but I'm with you anyway sending calming vibes.

I finally found a bra that fits - it's the Anita Safina. It comes with lovely wide straps to take the strain off the shoulders and is so so comfy. I am going to order it in white and black too. Can definitely recommend it for ladies with ample bosum/bosums.

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 12:20

I hope it IS soon Laetissimus, because waiting is really, really hard. And it is a very long time to 21st August Sad

Wine, chocolate, cake, all these are your friends in the meantime. Going out for a some fun really helps, too - if you can gather yourself together for it.

Talking of Burning Bright, Smee - was thinking of her the other day - it's ages since we saw her....

Waving to Figgy in her fancy new bra. Grin

Wine for Laetissimum, you're definitely on the right thread. Wink

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 12:31

Yes but she needs chocolate with it

Laetissimus · 30/07/2012 12:38

Thank you x

smee · 30/07/2012 12:41

Apologies.. Smile

topsyturner · 30/07/2012 13:11

Eeerm ...
Consultant brought all her colleagues in to meet me and see my scans as something rather remarkable has happened .

I have gone into spontaneous remission !!!
Lung nodules have almost disappeared .
I am treatment free till anything shows up again .

I am going out for lunch .
Then I am getting pissed !!!!!

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 13:16

Words fail me. That is the best possible news!!!!! Absolutely staggered - and in a very good way indeed!

have several drinks for me xxxxx

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 13:17

when you say 'treatment free' does that mean no herceptin and stuff??

topsyturner · 30/07/2012 13:22

Nothing , nada , nowt !
May need treatment in the future if reappears , but for now no chemo , no herceptin !!!

smee · 30/07/2012 13:23

WOW !! TOPSY YOU ARE (as we already knew) UNIQUE. And ever so special. Am cartwheeling recklessly round the room for you. Grin Grin

topsyturner · 30/07/2012 13:27

Apparently the odds are 1 in 60 to 100,000 !!!!

smee · 30/07/2012 13:28

Bloody hell, trust you! Incredible. Makes me want to cry..! xx

Laetissimus · 30/07/2012 13:35

Happy for you topsy - feel a bit awkward as you all seem to know each other so well - enjoy your 'session' x

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 13:35

How absolutely brilliant. There's nothing I can think of to say that quite covers it.

SweetestThing · 30/07/2012 13:36

topsy, that is absolutely fabulous news!!! So you bloody should celebrate - will raise a glass of virtual fizzy to you here Grin

Hi, Laetissimus - it's great you found this thread while you are at this initial "waiting for results" stage. Hopefully, your MRI will show nothing sinister, but in the meantime, there's lots of support, sage advice and laughter on here (and cakes!). I wish I had found it a lot earlier than last week! but I had erroneously assumed it was for women with breast cancer, rather than a meeting-point for all of us affected by cancer, whether it's ourselves or family.

In other news, my eye is still a bit sore but it seems to be looking better every day, so I am not worrying about it. Waiting for a phone call from the Marsden re blood tests done a week or so ago. I mentioned to the consultant that I am very tired and he wanted to check for anaemia and thyroid problems. Initial results seem to be fine, thank God, but just waiting for the final lot to be checked over.

Hope everyone else is doing okay - yay! to last r/t for ned.

Sticky gingerbread on tea trolley, if anyone fancies a piece.

KurriotsOfFire · 30/07/2012 13:36

I've just got in, - not had time to read all the posts, but bloody hell and wow topsy - you brilliant woman - can't tell you how pleased I am to hear your news, - raising a glass or twenty is definitely in order, - in fact I think I'll have one too Grin

GrinGrinGrin

Sometimesiwonder · 30/07/2012 13:37

No need to feel awkward, Laetissimus, you'll know us all in no time if you stick with us, we're an open book.
