Bored !
Gotta to wait for a new dressing on my picc before they can start .

AutumnSummers · 10/07/2012 10:58

Oh Topsy Hot Chocolate sounds the ticket

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/07/2012 11:02

wish I was jetting to Belfast to join you for hot choc- I could bag a bed for a sleep as am knackered-Havd had an anxiety induced cleaning drive which isn't good really, but I can;t start work until that's out of the way...

Hope the Mateus goes down nicely gig and that the xray is quick and not too upsetting x

topsyturner · 10/07/2012 11:15

We have nice reclining chairs Mas .

topsyturner · 10/07/2012 11:16

The hot chocolate was like liquid sugar Autumn , bet yours is nicer !

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 11:52

X ray woman was bloody rude - told me to sit down and shut up. Oh and I glimpsed at image when left (of course the only medical knowledge I have is based on er viewing Grin) so am obsessing over what might be there. I need nice nurse back to calm me down (she has already done that once after consultant told me wanted a scan- once again I can only hope her medical expertise in inverse proportion to her bedside manner).

However have scoffed sherbet fountain, pecan cookies and am about to start on the chocolate Neapolitans as no sign of mateus rose yet. Also need to text my sis to bring food as let's draw a veil over the hospital food menu I have seen .

I will go over my iPod and give you lists topsy but can I recommend the singpop app as its like name that tune you at play with friends. Am free and happy to play (it will help me come down from my stress too).

Mas sorry you had such a bad night- it really does spoil your day in more ways than lack of sleep.

Gracie thinking of you my love.

Autumn are you on the sofa resting?

Hi to everyone else- are you still getting over the new hair do amber?

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/07/2012 12:07

horrid xray woman Angry how dare she ! grrrr

OP posts:
topsyturner · 10/07/2012 12:19

Cow Bag of an X-ray tech Gig !
Shall we all come over and give her a good menacing ?

They've just been round and offered me lunch here . Thank goodness my friend is on her way with yummy sarnies so I could turn down the hospital gourmet offerings ...

Not allowed off the unit for the entire 6 hour obs period .
Sigh , bored !
Off to app store to find that pop sing app Gig .
What name do you play under ?

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 12:32

Yes do come and sort her Wink

Yes am eating my m and s picnic too here. You can find me via fb or hardandsleazy topsy.

topsyturner · 10/07/2012 13:14

Snort - hardandsleasy Grin
Found ya , played ya , challenged ya to an 80s fest !

SparkleRainbow · 10/07/2012 13:16

Angry at xray woman Gig....hmm the caring profession!

Sigh is it raining again with you all? It is here and I am so fed up with it. I feel I am going crazy with cabin fever. Dd2 is just playing in front of the tv every day....which makes me a very bad mother. Today she has stupidly expensive Sylvanian Families Canal boat out and has been dressing all the little animals whilst watching cbeebies!

P.S. I followed the fbs trolley this way.... thank you Smile

graciesmall09 · 10/07/2012 13:18

mas hope today is less stressful for you.

kurri I gave up watching Blackout and left it to DH to watch. Think he enjoyed it but it just didn't hold my attention.

Good luck today to gigs and topsy. Bet you are missing me Topsy, it is probably quiet there.

I'm not due chemo until tomorrow, it was pre-chemo bloods, picc line dressing and syringe driver for me today. Looks like I have had a reaction to the dressing on the picc line so I have a lovely red, sore arm. They think they may need to change the type of dressing if the skin breaks.

Kiddies all away with grandparents. They are heading to the new Causeway Centre so that should be good and the sun is shinning.

How are you feeling today *autumn? Hope you feel a bit brighter.

gigs what a cheeky mare! Hope your nice nurse puts in an appearance.

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/07/2012 13:39

thanks gracie - am not so stressed now !

OP posts:
Gigondas · 10/07/2012 13:50

That's good mas

Am on the rose now so no excuse not to sit here and eat fbs. Just like real mateus rose I have noticed this gives you. Funny taste in your mouth.

Played you topsy ... And challenged you to some dad rock.

gracie did they do the dressing with the gel in? My nurse said that can irritate some people when changed mine earlier so maybe change it?

Thanks for sympathy re horrid x ray. Chocolate has helped.

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 13:53

Sparkle it is hard to get enthusiasm when it's raining. I am glad big big doesn't know about sylvanian families . She does have a dolls house that is useful for eating away the hours on rainy days.

KurriKurri · 10/07/2012 13:54

Gig - what a horrid x-ray technician - hope you gave her 'The Look' and put her in her place.

gracie - it's horrid when you get a reaction to the tape - there's one kind that makes my skin blister - God knows what they put in these things Shock Hope they find you something less 'reactionary'.

topsy - If I could get a cheap flight over to Belfast later in the summer - I would come over and force you and gracie to meet up with me - then you'd be very sorry that you nagged Grin

MAS - hope you get a better night's sleep tonight, and are feeling a bit less anxious - is anything specific worrying you, or is it a general feeling of anxiety?

waving to autumn and I see Figgy is bringing chocolate brownies later

In real life I have actually had a very exciting slimfast milkshake Sad as I am feeling very fat.

Everything was OK at the dentist, he said 'nothing will go wrong with your teeth, but if you ask me 'can I make improvements?' I will say 'yes yes, always there is something we can do to improve the teeth' - all in a strong Polish accent. He's very nice but obsessed with basically replacing all my teeth with crowns which he thinks are better than teeth Grin

Right off to revise for theory test on friday (tried a practice test yesterday and failed dismally - hey ho)

KurriKurri · 10/07/2012 13:56

Oh Sparkle - missed your post - my DD had the Canal Boat too Grin - have you got the Otter family on board? (Sylvanians are fiddly little buggers aren't they?)

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 13:57

Is there a social order in sylvanian family? Can't any animal go on the boat

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 13:59

kurri good luck for Friday.

And in my what will I do when out of treatment , a belfast trip on the cards to see you two but it is really pig dog I want to meet.

About to do my suggestions on music

KurriKurri · 10/07/2012 14:05

I reckon there is a level of competence required on the canal boat Gig - I can't see moles or kittens navigating a lock can you? - Ducks might be able to do it, but Otters are clearly the aristocrats of the river (apologies to Sparkle's DD if her boat is run by moles Grin)

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 14:13

topsy music- you could start looking at iTunes selections - they have 80s,90s hits and hits from years. I have done a whole trawl through for old faves I liked over the years (and sod whether they are cheesy rtc).

On the commercial albums there are both guilty pleasures and power ballads compilations that are rich in cheer up value . Also If you like 70s/early 80s disco /funk dh loves one called soul city.

My other cheer up or mellow selections are

Rumer (listening as we speak)
Very early Michael jackson (pre 1984)
Whitney Houston or kylie (we are of similar age so there will be parts of your brain that knows those lyrics so don't lie)
Lily Allen
Amy wine house (I know some a bit sad but back to black is a fantastic album)
Sheryl crow (am big fan but can suggest some more sing along types)
Beverley knight soul uk album
Stevia wonder
George michael (Or wham)
Noah and the whale (bit more folky)
Tracey thorn (thoughtful but catchy)

I will caveat by saying I do like other music Blush honest but as I found out , being alone doing chemo , it's not the time to crack out the billie holiday .

Right now have shamed myself with music suggestions , may need more fbs. Mind my drip when you try to grab my chocolate neapolitans off the trolley Wink

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 14:17

I see your point about moles kurri - they might be best left to live in tree houses with their optical challenges.

And what is it with dentist selling services? I just want to know my teeth ok . The cosmetic bits reminds me of this [[

Ross' teeth]]
KurriKurri · 10/07/2012 14:24

Ross' teeth is what I fear I will end up with Gig Grin I always say 'I don't think I can afford £3000 for a 'swinging bridge-cum-denture-crown' or whatever he happens to be pushing that day - which he seems to accept with a rather rueful 'ah well, maybe next time' !

Moles can't live in the treehouse - that is for squirrels (sighs in despair at Gig's lack of Sylvanian knowledge). Moles might be able to run the shop given the right training.

topsyturner · 10/07/2012 14:24

KK you are more than welcome o er here any time you want !
Same goes for everybody else , even if it is just to meet pig/dog Angry

Gig that reminds me I have no Wham or Michael Jackson !
Must download some .
Have Amy and Sheryl .
Also got Beautiful South , Eurythmics , Mika , Plan B , Macy Gray .

Going for a play on iTunes now !

Gigondas · 10/07/2012 14:31

Yes a good iTunes download always fun. Makes up for the balance in our house which is a bit 70s/rock cos of dh. I must have mentioned how I forgot to bring music when mini gig was born so we had dh iPhone. I vetoed the sex pistols do she was born to the sound of barry white...

I really know nothing about sylvanian families kurri but have this dreadful feeling it's only a matter of time before big gig enlightens me. I certainly know more than I need to about things such as Barbie a mermaids tale or the whole Aladdin saga (who knew there were 2 other films plus a cheaply animated spin off cartoon series).
