Hello ladies, - just taking the plastic wrapper off a brand new thread Smile

OP posts:
jchocchip · 27/02/2012 21:00

I think I will have to remember next time about the gardening gloves in the coal bucket. I could pick up frogs when I was little but even thethought of it now makes me squirm.

I've got to see my surgeon soon, too and in the building where I got my dx. Six months since my op on 1st March...

Figgyroll · 27/02/2012 21:01

Thank goodness for clear smear results, Amber, especially after the worry of last years op. What a relief.

I'm with you KK and Gig re stats. I'd rather not know either. As far as I'm concerned, stats are just a big gamble aren't they? According to stats 21 years ago, I had a 25% chance of having a baby with Downs but I was the one that had one. I've learnt my lesson not to go down that road (stats).

LimeJellyforBrains · 27/02/2012 21:02

Kurri - am Shock at that surgeon and his 'bedside manner'! Sorry you have to see him again, hooray it's just to be referred on to the PS.

Gig - all the best for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you x

Did DS1's birthday treat at the weekend - went to see 'Journey 2' - what a load of tosh. He and his friends really enjoyed it though so that's what matters Smile.

Sparkle - am amazed at your DH and friend's ability to drink SEVEN bottles of wine. Hope you are feeling better after your lovely snuggle with your littley. Can you tell how Envy we all are? x

Gigondas · 27/02/2012 21:06

You didn't kurri so don't worry. Someone told my mum when she was dx "we all
Have to die sometimes" so I do think there are some people who have a lot to learn re bedside manner.

I think I need to plan some treats for after- for first time in 10 months may have some Wine . Off Anti bio (and yes Holsten I share your symptoms) tomorrow. Holsten if it's not tmi (or anyone else) how long did your stitches take to heal? Mine seem
To be half done but the last bit seems to be taking long time. Awkward spot (so can't rest them) and have to keep dressing in day so can't let it air (magically practical advice from nurse thereGrin).

amberlight · 27/02/2012 21:07

Ach, we can all nearly double our chance of survival by eating blueberries and relaxing with as many good friends and family as possible. No, seriously. Really good big research projects into stuff like that, and no, they have no idea why it works. But somehow it does. Doesn't guarantee results, but I'm going for that approach.

smee · 27/02/2012 21:18

Amber, hooray for clear smear. I think I can manage the blueberry approach too. Grin

jchocchip · 27/02/2012 21:20

Gig that was so wrong. And of course no one will notice if you air your stitches on the school run!! Shock

Amber I've got some blueberries, I put them on my breakfast cereal. Work is getting in the way of relaxing with friends though!

I'm sure that reducing my weight from the morbidly obese bracket must be a good thing too...
.

Gigondas · 27/02/2012 21:24

Amber there is definitely something in the Positive approach. And do blueberry muffins count?

LimeJellyforBrains · 27/02/2012 21:25
NedSchneebly · 27/02/2012 21:27

Had blueberries for breakfast. . . I'm with you amber Smile good news on clear smear too. I had mine all cleared a fortnight back, and it's definitely one less thing to have to worry about.

LimeJellyforBrains · 27/02/2012 21:28

Good call Gig!!

KurriKurri · 27/02/2012 21:48

Night night Ned.

Hmm blueberry muffins. Love them, - I've got a nice recipe hidden somewhere in my recipe heap filed neatly under 'B'

Bugger , only remembered this evening that I have to go for my liver ultrasound tomorrow morning .

jchocchip · 27/02/2012 22:11

:( at more tests Topsy, will send +ve vibes winging their way to you.

jchocchip · 27/02/2012 22:12

Brew Horlicks time for me. Anyone want a milky drink?

LimeJellyforBrains · 27/02/2012 22:15

Topsy - what time is it? Will be thinking of you and am sending best wishes for a good sleep tonight (I know, I know). I had to have an ultrasound due to something seen on CT scan at start of treatment. But my liver hid under my ribs (despite me getting into ridiculous positions for them to try to help them reach it) and they never did get a good look. So much scope for canceritis! Hugs x

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2012 22:23

hooray for amber's clear smear Smile and lots of good thoughts for tomorrow's scan topsy
Am Shock @ your surgeon kk
Am not a fan of horlicks or hot milk anything but am having a nice cup of green tea with mint - lovely stuff.

holstenlips · 27/02/2012 22:56

Gig, the stitches seem to take ages to heal. I'm 4 weeks post op, and still got a dodgy bit. I guess its just where it is, pain tho when you can't air it!

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2012 23:00

oh you poor love holsten (crosses legs in sympathy)

Figgyroll · 27/02/2012 23:01

Would love a Horlicks, thanks Jchoc.

Topsy will be thinking of you tomorrow, as well as Gig. Hope everything goes well for you ladies.

KurriKurri · 27/02/2012 23:09

Good vibes for topsy and Gig tomorrow xx

jane -I'd love Horlicks but if I have one now, I'll have to get up in the night for a wee Grin

OP posts:
topsyturner · 27/02/2012 23:46

Am I too late for Horlicks ?

Am now imagining the ultrasound techs getting out a swing set to strap me into to try and get me into the right position to scan me Grin

Amber that's great news about the smear . I am overdue , just can't bear the thought of volunteering for another medical procedure !

Night night all , hugs for all who need them for tomorrows trials and tribulations .

Gigondas · 28/02/2012 04:59

Topsy good luck today. Am sending you good vibes and hoping the fact dd2 slept through from 10 til now Grin is a good omen for today .

Will get coffee on for everyone else

Figgyroll · 28/02/2012 06:05

Morning Gig. You were up early, I hope you manage to get a few more hours sleep before your appointment.

Just wanted to say that I'll be thinking of you and Topsy today and sending good luck vibes your way.

Hope everyone else has a really good Tuesday. I'll be popping back later to greedily rummage through have a look at the fbs trolley so feel free to load it up while I'm gone. Smile

jchocchip · 28/02/2012 06:31
