OP posts:
jchocchip · 14/03/2012 21:21

hurray for 14k :)

Hopelessly out of touch here, gutted to have missed oportunity for clean house and to discuss aunty mabel and the sewerage :)

Feeling lopsided, I'm sure surgeon said radiotherapy would firm up boob and make slightly smaller, but I've lost a bit of weight and it seems to have shrunk the other one... Seeing him tomorrow so will see what he thinks.

Hurray for kks prescription, hope you start feeling better quickly.

Cat had better not wake me tonight. He is in so much trouble after this morning!

Brew and bed for me I think, I'm cream crackered :(

topsyturner · 14/03/2012 21:59

Evening all

DH took DD to the shops this evening to buy new school shoes , and she managed to come home with 3 pairs of pants , 3 pairs of tights , 1 dress , and 1 pair of jeans .
Oh and they got school shies as well !
That's my girl Grin

DH has booked us all a weekend away at the end if the month .
We are going to the hotel by the sea that we had our wedding reception at .
DD is already planning outfits .
DS is only concerned with "will they have wifi"

Pig/dog is not invited !

Glad all the appointments went well today , and that manic thyroids are being brought to heel Smile

Just had a Tex/Mex feast courtesy of Mr Marks and Mr Spencer .

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/03/2012 22:26

Waves to thenightisyoung
Well done ned for today and waves to holsten
topsy how exciting about weekend away !
Hope ds has a lovely pizza in the garden trip Grin
I think mum is pleased that dad is doing stuff- he deserves some time for himself- I think it's depressing for him to see mum's life so reduced.
jane v good about weightloss, but annoying about lopsidedness

jchocchip · 15/03/2012 03:13

:) at minitopsy - weekend away sounds fab!

parents are such a worry, mas. Your dad sounds great - hope he has lots of fun with his oboe and the band.:)

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/03/2012 07:38

Morning

Hope ned and 1in8 had a good night .

Am I the only child sniggering at the thought of mas dad "playing with his oboe " ?
No ? Just me then ... Grin

Housework day for me today . DH is working late tonight . DS has taken a tub of blueberries (which he didn't tell me he needed till 7pm yesterday , grrrr) to school for home ec . He's making blueberry muffins , so they will be on the fbs trolley later .

Tv is so sad today , it's full of all those poor children from Belgium who died on the coach . Sad

AngryFeet · 15/03/2012 08:08

Morning ladies. Less than 3 hours until my appt so am keeping myself busy sorting the kids out for school. DH has actually taken the day off Shock and is coming with me.

It does bother me that I may find out very little today and get recalled for a biopsy or mammogram so will leave today just as anxious (or more) than when I go in! That happened last time :(

Anyway nowt I can do about it so will just see what happens.

holstenlips · 15/03/2012 08:27

Good luck angryfeet (positive vibes) x
Arf @Topsy , naughty!

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/03/2012 08:51

topsy !! honestly....
angryfeet sending lots of good vibes your way too-xxx

topsyturner · 15/03/2012 09:01

Good luck angryfeet , hope you get a bit more info today .

< topsy goes and sits on the naughty step > Grin

l4k · 15/03/2012 09:05

Angryfeet-thinking of you and sending you the rest of my good luck from yesterday!

Big apologies for not coming back last night but it was a bit of a day, whatever way you look at it! I ended up joining the birthday drink of a friend(who's invite I'd declined) on a whim and getting rather drunk.I'm sure she didn't mind!

So,back to yesterday. The clinic was really busy (not been to this hospital before) and called me for mammogram.I explained about last oct, biopsy etc and was told I can't have a mamo because it hasn't been 6 months so back to waiting. We waited for 2 hour and I felt terrible, sick and shaking.
Then saw cons who was lovely and radiologist(?) who had a feel then scanned the lump and said it's normal breast tissue.Nodular may have been said.
was so relieved didn't really hear the rest. But he insisted I must carry on with follow ups and family history clinics and at least yearly mamos.
Forgot to tell him I go back to big hospital in may.
I will still attend that so they can do the mammogram then.If they could see everything by ultrasound they wouldn't need mammograms, would they?

You have all been posting like crazy so I'll go have a read.thanks again, you helped me through.

Sometimesiwonder · 15/03/2012 09:32

Quick 'hello' from me to all - and a whoop to 14k for normal breast tissue (even if nodular) Smile

ANd a last squeeze of the hand for angry feet for her appointment.

MAS - Oboe sounds wonderful for your Dad, and not at all smutty yes I'm talking to you, Topsy Grin

Love to everyone, I am thinking of you. Got to go now and clear the vomit mountain dd left for me last night. You'll find me in the launderette watching the duvet go round, if I'm needed

topsyturner · 15/03/2012 09:38

Brill news 14 , very happy for you !

NedSchneebly · 15/03/2012 09:59

Morning all. Doing OK here - sickness better than last time, am hoping Emend is working its magic! Quite spaced out and droopy, but not so sore and achy.

Dr Lovely GP phoned me yesterday to check on me, and said that one of the practice nurses is going to pop in this morning to see me. She said that "we've got you under our wing now" and that they were going to give me lots of support. Sort of nice in a way, but feels a bit self indulgent too, and taking up too much of their time.

YAY 14k normal sounds good! Well done you, thats such great news!

You're funny topsy. . . Gave me a chuckle this morning!

MAS good for your dad. my dad plays oboe too! Enjoy your new Patrick gale.

angryfeet fingers crossed for you. Thinking of you this morning x x

sometimes that's my worst nightmare. I feel for you x x

holsten you sound chirpy this morning, despite pmt! Pick me up a crime egg, would you, there's a dear? Thanks!

Waves to everyone else Smile

smee · 15/03/2012 10:05

for Sometimes. Is DD at home then?

Topsy, your DD sounds like she's a girl to be reckoned with. Weekend will be fab. What a lovely thing to do. Envy

l4K, hope you're still smiling. Come see us from time to time, or stick around.

Not much time today, but Angry, more hand holding here too. Really hope they give you the best of news.

Still nothing from Pennies?

And Amber, how are you?? Is heart behaving itself?

Hope Ned and OneinEight are okay with their pal Emend. Smile I must be the only person ever to have had a reaction to that one..

Gorgeous sunny day here - just taken yowling cat for his annual check up. He made extraordinary noises all the way but now refuses to get out of his box as though it's the best place ever. He's come out twice for treats, then slunk back in so have given up. Grin

smee · 15/03/2012 10:06

xposted Ned- you are not being self indulgent, just in need of care. Chemo's quite something, so let them fuss. Smile

Holstein, I missed the Crime Eggs bit.

topsyturner · 15/03/2012 11:14

ned take advantage of Dr McLovely ! And let them fuss over you as much as they want to Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/03/2012 11:23

ned not over indulging you at all- just sound totally lovely ! Hope you remain un-nauseous,eight too.
Dad will be so thrilled at having people to play his oboe with (no sniggering topsy)
sometimes is dd ok ? eek at vomit mountain.

topsyturner · 15/03/2012 11:24

Snort ...

probablyveryunreasonable · 15/03/2012 11:27

Angryfeet- good luck for today, keeping everything crossed for good results and no more waiting.

ned - hope the sickness stays away!

Having a massive wobble here today. Feel like a bloody idiot, but just wish I had more info. Trying to be positive, thinking its probably nothing, but then thinking I could walk in there and they tell me they've found something and just need to clarify etc. Don't want to worry loads and it's nothing but want to be prepared in case it is something, or I need more tests etc. Got to go out in a mo so hoping I can pull myself out of it Sad

Just seen about the vomit mountain. I'm defintely not cleaning houses now!!

Sometimesiwonder · 15/03/2012 11:31

Snurk! Grin

Dd is off school today, yes. Nastiness all washed away, just starting on the drying mountain, now. At least the duvet's done - God I'd love one of those big launderette dryers....

Ned, I agree, let Dr Lovely and his team make a fuss of you: any and all support is a godsend on chemo x

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/03/2012 11:40

probably the waiting and uncertainty is horrid - If there is anything wrong they would most likely do a biopsy which isn't painful - bit uncomfortable but doesn't hurt.

topsyturner · 15/03/2012 12:27

Waiting is bloody awful probably , it's got to be the hardest thing about this bastard disease !
Stay on here and rant , we will get you through it .

Right , procrastinate no more . Time to get the Hoover out , sigh ...
