Thanks all. Hugs/ Brew all round for everyone who's got something eek to look forward to today.

SparkleRainbow · 09/03/2012 10:58

Woohoo smee! fanastic news

Good luck today amber and kurri.

Have nothing yummy to add to the fbs trolley....sorry. Got a lot of eggs though if someone feels up to baking! Will leave them there on the trolley just in case.

Dh and FIL had argument last night, in all fairness dh was right to be tiddy bit annoyed with his dad. Now neither of them is talking to each other, as dh not really talkling to me....bit of an atmosphere around here...nice a quiet though Wink Wouldn't me a problem for most except you have to remember my FIL lives next door! Ho hum. I have three dc to worry about, I don't need two more, so am letting them get on with it. Grin

OlympicGoldPennies · 09/03/2012 11:08

Hi guys, just popping in. Have been doing the whole flu thing this week with some gusto and am just about back to normal today.

Smee - great news about your scan - I am so delighted for you!

Just wanted to let you know that on Monday I'm going in for my TMG flap breast reconstruction. They are taking tissue from my thighs to create two new breasts for me. It's fair to say I'm utterly terrified and still questioning whether I can go through with it. It's a big thing to put yourself back into the process of recovery once you've spent so long getting out of it previously. Wish me luck (but no crossed fingers please!). Will update next week, if I make it through the 10 hour operation!

smee · 09/03/2012 11:13

Aw, you are all so wondrous. I am still smiling, though slightly hungover.. Grin

Sparkle, tell those two children men to grow up. Honestly as if you haven't enough on your plate. Hmm

Hoping Kurri's alright. That Consultant sounds like he needs a slap. Good job we're all only virtually there for her. Grin

Thinking about you too, Amber. Hope they give you clear answers.

Ned, that's a good Buff. How's your scalp feeling?

OneinEight, how's your hair too? I know you had a bald patch, but has it grown? Really hope not.

Topsy Shock at the quality of fbs, but Amber's made up for it. I have never had a Daim bar. Am I missing out??

Three different work projects, all with major deadlines. Think I need for chocolate. Might have to run to the shop.. Smile

SparkleRainbow · 09/03/2012 11:46

Smee I am not getting involved, but quite enjoying the peace and quiet! How wicked am I. Did think about knocking their heads together, but decided against it in the end.

Grin at slightly hungover.

Personally I think cholocate is essential for hangover cures coping with major deadlines! Bring something back for me.

NedSchneebly · 09/03/2012 12:07

smee hope you're not working too hard? My scalp is a bit sore, almost oversensitive to the touch, but seems better than yesterday. Some patches worse than others.

sparkle bleddy men! Hope DH and FIL can sort out their differences. Leaving them to it is definitely the best option, if only to protect your own sanity!

Fingers crossed for you pennies Hope op goes really well for you x

Waves to sometimes

MAS mean to say yesterday - well done to T on his excellent exam results. Hope he's proud of himself and you guys can have a good celebrate at the weekend x x

Hope everyone else OK today x x

SparkleRainbow · 09/03/2012 12:21

My sanity is in question at the best of times Grin

NedSchneebly · 09/03/2012 12:28

You and me both then sparkle Wink

Sometimesiwonder · 09/03/2012 12:29

Waves to Ned and everyone else.

Pennies - candle will be lit. You'll be fine though. Everything is uncrossed.x

I am speechless. A contract for 9 days work a month has just this minute literally dropped into my lap with no effort at all on my part. I am going to have to subcontract out a chunk because I can't manage it all what with other commitments, but even so. Happy, Happy Days. Smile

I know that is very venal of me when there is treatment and worrying going on. I am rooting for you all - will go back now and see what I have missed but take it as read that, if anyone needs back-up of any sort, count me in, I can be a total Rottweiler

NedSchneebly · 09/03/2012 12:35

Yay sometimes that sounds completely excellent! - always lovely to hear good news, even in amongst worries and treatment stuff. Don't work too hard though! Really pleased for you x x

SparkleRainbow · 09/03/2012 12:37

Excellent news sometimes!

Sometimesiwonder · 09/03/2012 12:44

Thanks, guys Smile

Hope KK is getting on OK with her consultant.

Sparkles - enjoy the silence: you can't win getting involved in a family row so just wallow while you can.

Ned, you have the very nicest scarves I have seen - mine were frankly a bit lacklustre. They are in the drawer now - it seems like inviting bad luck to chuck them out so they just sit there doing nothing and taking up space.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/03/2012 12:47

brilliant sometimes !!
pennies will be thinking of you and sending loads of good vibes- am sure it'll all be fine and dandy xxxxx
Thanks ned for boy congrats.
sparkle kids eh ? especially when they are grown-ups.

smee · 09/03/2012 12:51

x-posted Pennies, but I'll be rooting for you on Monday. I'm sure you'll be fine, though I do get the dread. Very life affirming thing to do though. Here's to your new breast. Am sure it will be fantastic. Smile

Sometimes, wow that's fantastic. You are v.clever. Smile

Sometimesiwonder · 09/03/2012 13:10

Not v clever. Jammy.

Thanks, though Grin

SparkleRainbow · 09/03/2012 13:20

Grin @ jammy

Gigondas · 09/03/2012 13:29

Sparkles all the best for Monday. That's great news sometimes.

Ned you are a style guru - seriously I really think you are doing so well when I know things are tough.

Kurri- I have some delightful nappies from minigig to offer your consultant If he upsets you again.

Typing from france - long trip but both the little gigs were very good (although was at expense of bribery with midi gig). Had nice potter in supermarket this Morning so can offer French cheese, baguette , brioche, lindt Easter eggs and the yummiest cream meringue chocolate things as a Friday special. For anyone hankering after cabbage I also have some turnips which are going in the casserole .

Its amazing what a change of scene , sunshine and a pep talk from my lovely mum can do for your mood. Can send her round to anyone else in need of some positive thinking .

Gigondas · 09/03/2012 13:29

Sparkle midigig isn't on naughty step today so is there for dh/fil if needed Wink

AngryFeet · 09/03/2012 13:32

Hi just posted this in general health but then spotted this thread :)

I popped into GP today to discuss a slight rash by my armpit and also the breast issue that I have noticed in recent months/years that the top outer quadrant of my left breast seems to sink in when I am lying down and raise my arm above my head. This makes my nipple sort of bend to the side. None of these happen if I am upright and raise my arm though.

Anyway he felt and said it was a bit lumpy there and I mentioned there was a lump there which I had biopsied in 2004 which was benign. He said he wasn't concerned but would refer just in case.

An hour later I had a call from the Breast Clinic saying I have an appt next Thursday! :S

Should I be concerned?

Sometimesiwonder · 09/03/2012 13:39

Hi angryfeet

I'd say not overly. The clinics are very, very efficient, and if they have a slot that could be a cancellation, for example, they'll put you in if they can. They know you will worry anyway, you see, and they don't want you to have to do it if it can be proven to be unnecessary, which it probably will. Stick with us though, we totally get that you will wibble between now and then Smile

SparkleRainbow · 09/03/2012 13:47

I don't think the speed of the referral should worry you overly. When I was referred the nurse actually said, don't panic if you get an appt in the next few days as it is just first come firstserve and not any reflection on what may be going on. It is probably just a cancellation or an extra clinic being out on, or just a very efficient breast clinic, which is a good thing. Smile hilst you are trying not to worry, stick with us.
