Gigondas · 08/03/2012 15:07

Ouch Mas . I really should get up and finish packing but have tea and particularly yummy double coated chocolate digestive so will add to trolley.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/03/2012 15:10

I love Charles,so he's worth it,but...have eaten 4 bits of fudge
smee thank you- Mindfulzine is great name for it Grin

skybluechair · 08/03/2012 16:23

Congrats Smee - that's wonderful!!

Ned - the story about your son made me smile. The sweetest thing I heard whilst in a headscarf was from a mum at church whose daughter had demanded to wear a scarf that week because 'minisky's mummy wears one and looks so pretty'. Made me sob (since I felt such so awful in one..).

Trying to work but have the munchies.. Need to focus..

NedSchneebly · 08/03/2012 16:36

Yay for smee's BRILLIANT results - what fab news to cheer our spirits on this cloudy Thursday! Am so pleased for you x x x

Feeling Ok about hair- definitely a control thing for me! DS remarkably unfazed, sometimes even by my GI Jane crew cut with additional bald patches Smile Buffs def my favourite topsy Anna Bandanna ones lovely but rather bulky in comparison.

Glad to see that cabbagegate seems to have passed, with the addition of Maltesers, minstrels and gig's choc digestives. Yes please, thank you very much, pass several one over!!!

Went to see lovely GP today. Had another large and very soggy small wobble about chemo next week (Wednesday not Monday so oncologist can see me in clinic) and not sleeping and rotten cough and trying to cope for everyone else and trying to be brave all the time etc etc etc etc . She said all totally understandable and has given me Trazadone AD because of its sedative powers to help me sleep and that will help feel a bit more positive about everything else. She said she would do home visit on Thursday next week, and Friday too if necessary, and how brave I was for asking for help and there was lots of support that the GPs could give me. She was so nice it made me cry even more Blush

Poor Charles MAS Hope he will behave for a while?!

amber hope you are sitting down resting that ticker?

Waves to all and big hugs all round x x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/03/2012 16:46

what a fab gp ned -really understanding and is taking care of you ! hooray !
skyblue what a lovely story Smile I'd have wept too !
Charles should be ok now I think- a good, dependable car really.

NedSchneebly · 08/03/2012 16:47

X-post skyblue that's a lovely story! Could fbs be used to restore focus?!

smee · 08/03/2012 17:34

Sky that's a v.lovely story. Hope your focus returns, though fbs will surely help?! Smile

Ned, what a fantastic GP. Think the Anti-d pills are a good idea, especially if they help you sleep. she's right, you are brave asking for help. Really admire the way you're coping with the hair loss. Buffs are fab, I loved mine. Smile

Amber, I think you're seeing your Consultant tomorrow?? Hope they'll have some solution for you, must be v. worrying. Watch out for Topsy with her duct tape. Grin

NedSchneebly · 08/03/2012 17:42

Aw, smee you can set a girl off weeping again with your loveliness! Thanks for encouragement - I really appreciate it x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/03/2012 17:43

Oh yes, good luck tomorrow amber !!

Am very happy indeed as junior MAS got his GCSE module exam results and got an A in Geography !!! (c in biology, b in chemistry and c in physics !) he was very cheery too !

smee · 08/03/2012 17:47

Ooh, yeay for junior MAS. What treats have you lined up? I know you're good at those. Smile

topsyturner · 08/03/2012 17:52

ned a sympathetic GP is a wonderful thing and well done for going to see her !

sky out if the mouths of babes eh ? Sweet child Smile

mas well done to the boy ! Celebratory dinner tonight ?

gig get your arse off mums net and get packing , before I go in your place Grin

I'm bored . Waiting for my wool to arrive in the post . Should be organising DDs birthday party that is rapidly approaching , but have run out of ideas . She wants a horse riding party , but not sure that 14 , 9 year old girls , who have never been on a horse before , is a good idea ???
And then there is the expense .
Sigh ... any ideas , please ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/03/2012 18:00

will have to think of a treat at the weekend !!
um,parties- a crafty type one ? t shirt designing ? making charm bracelets ?
S had her 9th birthday party at home with a cushion making party - my niece had her 8th birthday party at a salon with nail painting, make up etc.

smee · 08/03/2012 18:28

Oh my, 9 year old girls all riding for the first time?! St Trinnians comes to mind.. Grin Ice skating? Bowling? MAS's craft ideas are good.

KurriKurri · 08/03/2012 18:39

Hello all. Firstly - many apologies for yesterday's cabbage fiasco - I don't know what came over me, I can only blame tiredness Grin - I have tea cakes today for anyone who fancies one.

Smee - great news about your scan, Yaaay!!! - so pleased she told you there and then, and you didn't have to wait Smile

Ned - lovely scarf, and well done for being proactive with the hair - I htink you're very wise. Your GP sounds absolutely lovely, and it's great you've got something now that hopefully will make it all a bit more dealable with Smile

Bless little Ned, and the little girl in Sky's story - isn't it weird how some adults faff and fluster and don't know what to yet, and kids just take it all in their stride and say what they think.

MAS - well done to DS - am very impressed with the geography A, as I was always terrible at geography at school.

Good luck for tomorrow amber hope it goes well
hope the wool turns up soon topsy and you can get knitting (what are you planning next?)
Good luck with packing Gig.
Waving to Sometimes - don't work too hard Smile

I went to yoga, then lunch with a friend then art group - so a nice day (I am drawing a lot of fish at the moment - today it was a large oil pastel trout! - but hes not finished yet) Our group is having a little exhibition, so I'm trying to get a few bits finished off.

Tomorrow is my appointment with scary consultant in the breast clinic (the man who insisted on showing statistic until I burst into tears and ran away Blush - hopefully he'll have forgotten who I am) but I'm feeling pretty nervous about it. Supposedly it's simply for referring me over to the plastic surgery unit, - but I'm worried he's going to insist on loads of tests, and it'll all be very stressful Sad I am panicking over silly things like what I'm going to wear for goodness sake!

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 08/03/2012 18:41

Oh meant to say - sorry about Charles MAS (My DS and DIL-to-be had to spend a similar amount on theirs last weekend - they were pretty fed up!)

OP posts:
OneInEight · 08/03/2012 18:49

Sneaking in to pinch some maltesers and say hooray for clear scan results to Smee and well done to young MAS for exam results. Kurri -good luck for your appointment tomorrow. Ned - hope the pills help you sleep - everything seems better with a good nights rest I find.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/03/2012 19:50

waves to oneineight Smile
kk loads of good thoughts for tomorrow - we'll be with you in spirit and the trolley will be laden for your return.

smee · 08/03/2012 19:55

Kurri, will be sending hard stares to scary consultant all tomorrow for you. Aren't you supposed to imagine them naked or something like that?

Waving to OneinEight. Do you have to get your bloods retaken before Monday and isn't that your final FEC? Hope it is. Half way's a huge milestone. Smile

Amber, rest up. No running to your consult or anything daft like that. Smile

OneInEight · 08/03/2012 19:59

Yes, half-way through on Monday. Bloods taken tomorrow but I feel OK so not anticipating any problems.

l4k · 08/03/2012 20:17

just wanted to say I'm pleased to hear smee scan went well and to wish a positive appointment for Kurri tomorrow.
I still haven't got an appointment at the breast clinic so I'm thinking of ringing them direct tomorrow if nothing turns up in the post.
Hi to everyone and glad to see you back,Topsy.

KurriKurri · 08/03/2012 20:18

Oh no - I can't imagine him naked - that's way too grim! Grin

I am writing down what I want to make sure I say to him, so I don't get flustered and fall to bits.

Half way point OneInEight - well done - feels good to reach these milestones along the way., then you'll be onto the home straight [smile}

Hi everyone. Feeling better now than I was at 4am when discovered a frog under my bed! dh away so I was very brave and put it out myself. I do love the cat, but he is trying my patience with a plague of frogs of nearly biblical proportions (I exagerate, but getting beyond a joke). Must watch Make Bradford British so I can join in the lively discussion in the office tomorrow. Wish had tv in bedroom, though would prob fall sleep after disturbed night yesterday.

Good to hear of clear scan , smee, it helps with the paranoia.

mini ned sounds like a good fashion advisor.

pink wafers are yum. I don't seem to be missing the chocolate, but I am sort of looking forward to a special easter egg...

LimeJellyforBrains · 08/03/2012 21:12

WooHoo to Smee for clear scan; MAS DS for Geog A; OneinEight for half-way through; Ned for way-to-go attitude to hair loss; and Topsy for being Topsy and being back!

Hugs and best wishes for Kurri and Amber for their appointments tomorrow.

Big hugs to Jane, Sparkle, Sometimes, TNIY and 14k.

Waving to Gig and Figgy too.

If I've missed you out, please consider yourself hugged too x

Quite a lovely sunny day here - accompanied DS2's class to swimming lesson (humid heat of pool room not friends to hormonally challenged woman, phew!) but delighted my foot seems to be a bit better recently so am able to do the walk.

DS1 has started Food Tech and made a very edible apple crumble (with his choice of added coconut - went very well!). You're in luck, there's a smidgeon left (with custard natch) for the fbs trolley.....

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/03/2012 22:36

yum LJ - glad foot is bit better
well done jane for frog removal Smile
Sleep well everyone x

smee · 08/03/2012 23:47

I'll have some crumble, though I'd bet you greedy lot have snaffled it. Grin

Good that foot lets you walk, LJ. After all it's what they're for. Bloody cancer eh, the things it does to us. Hmm

l4k, definitely call them tomorrow I'd say. Hope you get some news soon.

OneinEight, half way's good. Tough, but there's something psychological that tips once you're past half way somehow. Hope it's the same for you too. Good luck with bloods. How are your veins??

Kurri, will be thinking of you tomorrow. I know it's not an easy one for you (like they ever are!) Someone once told me that if you're stressed you should baa like a sheep. So if you can't imagine him naked, sheep might be the way to go. Grin
