Ben10NeverAgain · 02/04/2012 08:08

I can do it. Shall we wait a few days or do we want one now?

fengirl1 · 02/04/2012 08:28

Sure - perhaps you could put those links at the start of the new thread?

fengirl1 · 02/04/2012 08:41

I agree. And a nice descriptive title including all of the -celes

I have this morning passed a massive clot on my pad. I wonder if I had a haemotoma. I have had to take very very strong painkillers. I haven't had anything now since 7am and I'm still not in pain. I haven't called the hospital or anything as the blood loss is now very minimal compared to the past couple of days - had my op a week ago.

happy2beme · 02/04/2012 11:20

Ben - that could possibly be right xx samething happened to me . Just keep an eye on it xx After passing the clots blood flow diminished to just staining although had been like a full period prior to that.
Well done all you technically minded, usually I have to ask DC if I am struggling lol :)
Links at top of pages would be great , I had to save the pages to my favourites when I was reading them xxx
Off to phone dentist chipped my veneer, the joys , One less easter egg for the girls now Grin x

Ben10NeverAgain · 02/04/2012 11:45

Have called the hospital an left a message just to check, My blood flow was like a proper period before. Have period like pain now.

tinkxx65 · 02/04/2012 12:41

Hi everyone
Ben10 and tazzle, glad you are both home and doing well, your experiences make me feel less anxious :-). I have my "bum tests" in 10 days and the thought of them consumes my every waking hour :-( But on the positive side, maybe when the day comes I will be relieved as at least all the embarassement and worry will be over. Anyway ladies, hope everyone is ok xxxx

I'd like to confirm that I am now feeling great despite this mornings clot incident.

For the past 6 days I was on oramorph plus paracetemol alternately every two hours plus naproxen and then since Friday I've been on Tramadol plus co-codomol alternately every two hrs plus naproxen .

Today all I've had since 6.30am is 1 tramadol, 2 paracetemol and 1 naproxen. It must have been a haemotoma which finally passed. It was really really painful and I was nauseous and dizzy but since it has gone I feel so much better. It doesn't feel like I'll need anymore tramadol at all now. Am obviously still going to heed all of the advice and rest for another week and then gradually increase. :)

Happy hope the tooth isn't too expensive

Tink It won't be as bad as you expect. None of this actually is once you're there and realise that it is just a routine everyday thing for the HCPs.

I would just like to moan. My husband's body appears to deal with stress (ie my health) by giving up 2 days after I come out of hospital. That means that he takes to his bed and I end up dealing with dinner, bathing child, clearing up. I shouldn't moan as he did everything while I was in hospital for 4 nights and the other two hospitalisations but it is so annoying. He gets a sickness and chesty bug each time - he has asthma (but smokes). I am meant to be resting completely for the first two weeks. I still have another week to go. He is entitled to be ill but I wish his body would be ill at another point. This is simply a self-indulgent rant that I do in RL

fengirl1 · 02/04/2012 22:00

Oh Ben10! Whilst I'm not doubting your OH's illness it couldn't have come at a worse time. Could you farm out any DC's to friends, family or CM's etc for a few days to give you a break? You really DO need to rest and heal, so if you can it would be worth it. X

fengirl1 · 02/04/2012 22:40

Oh and hi to new posters and ex-lurkers alike!!!

Ben10NeverAgain · 03/04/2012 08:04

Hi Fen DS is with holiday club, parents, brother, in laws all across the holiday. He just needed a hair wash yesterday so had to help. All I did yesterday was put frozen goujons and chips in the oven, put then on plates (sitting down) and then eat, then wash his hair.

It is just the over-dramatisation of what is clearly him actually being ill - the over loud coughs and heaving - . Just irritates me that I don't get the time to be ill without all that.

I have the cleaner coming today. I will pile all the crap treasures in a corner and she can clean. But obv she can't clean in our room as he is in there........ must stop, am sounding bitter now Grin.

He even said to me this morning after he came out from vomiting are you sure you can't take him to holiday club. You can imagine the answer Grin

Wow bad do i feel. He's been to the doctors and he has a deep seated chest and lung infection and he is asthmatic. He is signed off work for 2 weeks (which will mean that he'll be on a disciplinary when he gets back) and is only blowing 300 on his peak flow. This house is full of invalids. The cleaner has been so the house is clean. Online groceries coming tomorrow for my mum to put away. My friend can pick DS up and take him to holiday club today and tomorrow.

Shopping full of freezer food, sanitary towels and prune juice Grin

tazzle · 03/04/2012 15:44

blimey heck ben10 Shock sounds like a time for you and DH forgetting about doing anything except the very basics. I must say for situations like this than goodness for on line shopping ( delivered by some stores right to the fridge ) and for ready meals.

Thak goodness to for relatives and friends ........ its when we really appreciate them if we are fortunate enough to have them .......... and even when we dont think we have them they can often be found if we just ask our neighbours Wink

glad your haematoma has come away .... and whilst it does not happen often it is a cautionary tale for us all to take it easy, pay attention to whats happening and to any pain we do have , its there for a reason.

tink ..... its natural to be apprehensive over something when you dont know what will happen never mind when its on places not normally talked about Wink. ...... anad for you to think about it ...... but please try to keep busy and occupied with other things even if it means renting a few dvds you have always wanted to watch or do things you have to concentrate on.

The last week before my op I kept myself soooooooooooo busy I did not feel nervous till I was about to leave the house !

well I am doing fine with minimal analgesia .... was a little norty and went for half hour walk ( which was prb about 5 minutes tooo long really ) and have pottered doing little things like making breakfast ( though decided that bending down to take milk out the fridge not great idea so will not do again) and wiping round the bathroom.

Am still not feeling much like BM despite lactulose twice daily, prune juice every day, mixed fruit juic all saturday, plenty fruit & veg, wholemeal bread / cereal ... and even max strength senna last night !!! Some rumbling in the jungle but no action !!!

Downstairs looks good .... NO more bulgings ..... although I did find a big external perineal stitch was not told I had Confused ...... so that was the stingy bit that was pulling .... aha

have a good day all

Ben10NeverAgain · 03/04/2012 18:38

Half hour walk Tazzle - you are very naughty

I would suggest laxido sachets mixed with orange juice with bits that Happy told me about. Much better than lactulose. That just made everything churn.

Anyone with a backache after surgery. I had a spinal if that makes any difference but I have constant back ache even with painkillers. Have tried naproxen, paracetemol and tramadol. Trying to stay away from cocodomol due to the constipatory effects (have I made up a new word?) Grin

will be visiting chemist and supermarket tomorrow methinks ben10

I normally walk about 5-6 miles a day so a gentle stroll to the local shop seemed not to be too far at the time lol

surewoman · 04/04/2012 09:52

Tazzle - lactulose won't work unless you drink loads of water. A glass an hour would be good to start things off. x
