I have come to the conclusion that I am the luckiest person in the world - I am healthy, fit and not obese, have a good education, a nice job, 2 well behaved, kind, clever, healthy daughters , a lovely husband and a well trained dog who does not jump up on people or bark incessantly.

these things just "happen" on mumsnet - they are a combination of genetics and luck..... I have obviously NEVER put ANY work into ANY of the above.... I am lucky......

well, I'm taking responsibility for my lucky-ducky-self and refusing to tie myself in knots over it any more.... there I go again.... preventing an ulcer.... or is it pure luck that I don't have one......

bye bye, thank you all for letting me know that I've wasted my life away trying so hard to get things the way I want them - my world would have been the same if I had done NOTHING..... since I am lucky you know.....

Wading I think that simply being lucky may put you at risk of having to flounce in the near future, tbh. Grin

I am going to blame the hand washing on my older sister who lives in Laandon. If you have been on public transport, as soon as you walk through her door she is saying 'go and wash your hands'. I think it has rubbed off a bit on me. In fairness, me and DC rarely get ill, yet DH, who is a proper minger, and spends a lot of his time either biting his nails or putting his mingy fingers up his nose suffers with D&V all the time. It really really pisses me off when he questions my cooking or kitchen hygiene every time he is ill. No one else in the household gets it, so I presume it is his mingy habits that are causing it. It's not all down to clean hands, but I think it helps.

Having said that, my MIL was a paediatric dentist all her life, and doesn't get colds or flu at all. She reckons it was due to years of bending over germy mouths that has made her immune.

Aye, I feel a luck-related flounce coming on Grin

StairsInTheNight · 12/06/2014 23:26

You may be my lucky star, but I'm the luckier by far.

I'd like to share a song I composed inspired by Boffin if I may. Its quite short and I'm not sure if shes around at the moment but enjoy

Crap, crap, crapping on Boffin's floor
Crap, crap, crapping on Boffin's floor

Some credit for this masterpiece goes to Bob Dylan
