I have come to the conclusion that I am the luckiest person in the world - I am healthy, fit and not obese, have a good education, a nice job, 2 well behaved, kind, clever, healthy daughters , a lovely husband and a well trained dog who does not jump up on people or bark incessantly.

these things just "happen" on mumsnet - they are a combination of genetics and luck..... I have obviously NEVER put ANY work into ANY of the above.... I am lucky......

well, I'm taking responsibility for my lucky-ducky-self and refusing to tie myself in knots over it any more.... there I go again.... preventing an ulcer.... or is it pure luck that I don't have one......

bye bye, thank you all for letting me know that I've wasted my life away trying so hard to get things the way I want them - my world would have been the same if I had done NOTHING..... since I am lucky you know.....

I'd also love to flounce Pag but so far no one has the decency to give me a reason toAngry

LEMmingaround · 12/06/2014 19:17

My friend has breast cancer - tell me she deserves it? Its just fucking bad luck.

Trapper · 12/06/2014 19:18

I thought ulcers were caused by bacteria?

Pagwatch · 12/06/2014 19:19

Would you like me to send you mahoosive fuck offs AdoraBell ?

I'd never flounce in case genuinely everyone went [shrug].

Pagwatch · 12/06/2014 19:22

I'm very lucky. Really lucky. I have loads of great things and the humility to recognise that a million tiny things happened along the road happened to bring me here and a million others didn't happen, those things outside my control which would have changed everything.

Pagwatch · 12/06/2014 19:23

I also have more 'happened's than most people.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2014 19:24

Adora you are too luffly to be given a reason.

Things going right = hard work

Things going bad = bad luck

In reality a lot of it is pure chance. I'm sorry about your friend lem

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/06/2014 19:27

Yep, you're lucky. So are we, now. Cheerio!

FixItUpChappie · 12/06/2014 19:32

Your taking it all a bit personally.

Well, bye then.

Have a Bike (looking for any opportunity to use the new smileys emoticon)

MarshaBrady · 12/06/2014 19:35

Mini exactly, it's neither luck nor judgement but a strange unknowable mix of the two.

And as I've learnt both in life and through my lovely friends here on Mumsnet it can all change tomorrow - sadly quite often for the worse Sad

But I'd rather have friends that know that too, so byeee !

Also liking "this is a site for grown-ups who understand nuance and the way life can sneak up on anyone" Quite 7days

ReggieJones · 12/06/2014 20:05

Its seems that my singing may have caused a bit of offense around these parts. It's not the first time and it probably won't be the last. I've been contacted by the 'Towers' would you believe! So apologies to anyone who was offended and is still here and hasn't flounced off anywhere, kind regards

RAJ

Fenton · 12/06/2014 20:09

You are kidding me? (are you?)

was it the 'I touch your face while you're sleeping' ? cause that was pretty creepy until I realised it was lyrics. Grin

Pagwatch · 12/06/2014 20:15

Please tell me that you were not really contacted about the singing.
It was weird and strangely beautiful.

MrsCripps · 12/06/2014 20:15

where is LAQ - I haven't seen her around for a while ?

ReggieJones · 12/06/2014 20:15

No I'm joking I really did get an e-mail in my mail box from Kate I think her name was. I sent a very polite reply and promised to come on here and apologise in person if everyone hadn't flounced off. I did break into a bit of Sound of Music in my reply, hopefully that well go down alright.

Cocolepew · 12/06/2014 20:21

Adieu adieu adieu

SoonToBeSix · 12/06/2014 20:21

Just to pick one part of your post op , do you think your daughters are healthy and clever because of your wonderful parenting. Obviously it has nothing to do with you know luck?

Pagwatch · 12/06/2014 20:29

Presumably 'so long, farewell ..'

Ha ha at getting a warning about singing on a thread Grin I am going to be laughing all night about the "I watch you while you're sleeping"

ReggieJones · 12/06/2014 20:53

Edith, may I call you Edie? The correct lyrics are 'I touch your face while you are sleeping'. You're correct Pag, unusual name, I did infact sing that song from the great Sound of Music in my e-mail reply, I hope they won't mind.

ReggieJones · 12/06/2014 20:54

I'm not sure exactly how they termed it, let me check my e-mail again

SwedishEdith · 12/06/2014 20:55

Damn for getting it but they're even better
