I think Billy Crudup and Kate Hudson are fantastic casting in Almost Famous - as is the casting of the whole film.

Daniel Day Lewis in everything is brilliant. And Julianne Moore is great in everything.

I have never recovered from the wrongness of Cameron Diaz in Gangs Of New York or Anna Hathaway in Interstellar.

Best- Maggie Smith in Downton and Harry Potter. Hugh Bonneville in Downton.

Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher - wrong

Jude Law in The Holiday - perfect

Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad - perfection!

Gary Oldman in Leon - one of the best.

Ginny Weasley - one of the worst.

Everyone in Bridget Jones' Diary. I saw the film in the cinema before I read the bo book but they are just perfect. I think Celia Imrie as Unu and Jim Broadbent as her dad especially.

Healthybychristmas agree re Emma Watson as hermione! The whole point of H was that she was square and plain and had frizzy hair, and a personality, not the annoying carefully waved cutesyness of ew.

Great - the actress who played missy in dr who.

Isla fisher as Becky bloom wood in the shopaholic film was awful

See I agree that Alan Rickman did an amazing job and was almost good enough to make up for his age. But snape should have been 30. And I think that aging up lupin, Sirius and snape does change their stories quite a bit.

All the kids in HP were terrible, apart from Malfoy. He was great!! I heard rumours that he is going to play Lucius in the new series. Hope that's true.

Modern Family is perfect casting

The 90s Pride and prejudice is amazing. Did the book for a level and the actors personified how I imagined them. Obviously Colin firth but also Rossmund Pike.

Enjoyed Little Women and with the exception of Emma Watson their acting was great but they were just not believable as sisters. And I speak as someone who does not look like my own sisters!

I agree on both points. I don't rate Emma Watson's acting at all.

Best - Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby. Worst- Russell Crowe as Javert in Les Mis.

Best: Philip Seymour Hoffman as Freddie Miles in The talented Mr Ripley. ‘Oh is it on Della Croce just off the Corso?’

I have watched that scene so many times. Outstanding actor.

Then they remade it and the role went to that non binary woman who is Sting’s daughter. Awful performance and baffling casting.

Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde-Pierce as Frasier and Niles Crane. They even look like brothers.

Am I the only one who thinks Rami Malek was all wrong for Freddie ??

Best: Jason Miller as Father Damian Karras in The Exorcist.

Worst: And I say this as someone who absolutely adores this film and thinks the actor is an all round good egg but Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker in Bram Stokers Dracula was a choice...

Worst: Olivia Coleman as the Queen in The Crown. Played her as dead behind the eyes with one facial expression: just terrible.

Best: so many, but Harriet Walter as Harriet Vane in the Lord Peter Wimsey adaptations really captured her brilliantly.

Excellent casting - the child actors in "Orange is the new black". They got kids that looked like the main cast who put in amazing performances. Probably because they're American child actors and can put act a British one any day. God knows where the Brits get recruited from,but the majority are awful.

Best: Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man or Robin Williams in Awakenings

Worst cast- Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

Best: Hugh Grant in Paddington 2. I was expecting him to be bumbling and charming. He was brilliant as the villain and stole the show.

Best ever imho Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch.
As others have said Tom Cruise as Reacher has to be one of the worst.

Did you ever watch Jessica Jones? The child who plays young David Tennant puts on a Dick Van Dyke cockney accent, it is very strange.
