What is the worst film / most crappiest experience you've ever had in a cinema ?

I'll start. I remember watching the zodiac. I was immature and didn't really understand it-- but it was the most boring film I've ever seen in the cinema.

A few years later I watched Never Let me go. The atmosphere at the end was highly depressive

Has anybody seen Blackbird yet? I thought I might wander in on Monday 😂

underneaththeash · 03/09/2022 22:32

I actually liked most of those films.
i haven’t (luckily) seen Paw patrol. But did snooze through many of the Thomas the Tank Engine and a Barbie movie.

Tree of Life with Brad Pitt. Jeez. I watched it with my mam in an arthouse cinema in Bath, it was tedious and unbearable but every time we wanted to get up and leave someone else did first. Think I imagined Brad was going to be offended a la stage show. We ended up being the only two who saw the rubbish out, of around 50 at the start. Tedious (did I say that already?), self-indulgent crap.

Precious. Utterly depressing bleak Sunday morning. And the person beside me worked his way through not 1 but 2 Gregg's pasties.

Omg it was dire wasn't it?

Cliffhanger

3peassuit · 09/09/2022 13:51

The Revenant. It made me wish the bear had finished him off.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/09/2022 19:48

I walked out of The Blair Witch Project. It was shit, so I went to the pub and read the paper instead.

warofthemonstertrucks · 09/09/2022 23:10

Magnolia. My Dad got up and walked out tutting when it starting raining frogs.

JohnsShirt · 10/09/2022 00:45

That's the only film that's ever scared the shit out of me!

JohnsShirt · 10/09/2022 00:47

I mean Blair Witch Project.
It terrified me.

FrankTheThunderbird · 10/09/2022 00:55

Lego Ninjago. At least I think it was Ninjago. I fell asleep.

Van Helsing: admittedly my mum and I went to see it knowing it wa utter, utter tosh but also that it had lots of Hugh Jackman with his shirt off, which partly made up for being total bobbins. Grin

It didn't, though. It had one scene of High Jackman with his shirt off, and that had been in the trailer anyway.

ShirleyJackson · 10/09/2022 01:56

Blue Is The Warmest Colour. Exploitative and looooong.

There Will Be Blood. Yes, there will be, when I’ve gnawed off my hand in boredom.

Mama Mia. Total cringe fest.

The Christopher Nolan Batman film with Bane in it. His use of sound and camera angles make me feel really ill. I had to leave.

Johnny English 2. I walked out when the old woman got a tea tray in the face. Hated it.

JohnsShirt · 10/09/2022 03:06

I saw BITWC on Netflix, I quite liked it, except for the overdone sex scenes with seemed to involve a lot of weird bum slapping.

ShirleyJackson · 10/09/2022 04:18

Lots of bum slapping, very extreme close ups (I swear I spotted an ovary at one point) and apparently the two young actors felt uncomfortable 🙁

All the spag-bol fetishising was a bit weird, too.

Haus1234 · 10/09/2022 04:23

The recent Matrix movie - the 4th one. I went to the loo for a bit for a break, it was just dreadful.

OldTinHat · 10/09/2022 06:25

The very recent one that I can't even remember the name of. A 'modern day' Dracula effort. Fell asleep after 10 minutes, woke myself up by snoring loudly 15 minutes after that and then gathered up my bag and went home.

Randomword6 · 12/09/2022 15:48

One Day. I was so relieved when she got knocked over (callous I know but a) only a movie and b) was devoid of empathy by then. Unfortunately the film dragged on for about another 40 mins.

MidnightMeltdown · 14/09/2022 13:37

Cat woman

Terrible

JaneJeffer · 14/09/2022 13:39

Mamma Mia but at least the scenery was nice I suppose

Surtsey · 14/09/2022 13:47

There are two which vie for equal worst:

Happy Feet. Utterly depressing in its premise that 'Ooh dear, we had better save the planet after all because these creatures are cute and can entertain us'.

The War of the Roses (Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner). Very uncomfortable and unpleasant to watch. It is the one and only film where I have got up and walked out before the end.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 16/09/2022 10:58

Not my post, wish it was!

The worst movie you have ever seen in the Cinema

I've just been to 'Thor Love & Thunder' with the DCs - that's right up there. Terrible acting, no plot to speak of, laughable dialogue. And soundtrack was Guns & Roses' greatest hits. Moronic. But Dcs enjoyed it. I left halfway through when the frustration boiled over and did some shopping.
