What is the worst film / most crappiest experience you've ever had in a cinema ?

I'll start. I remember watching the zodiac. I was immature and didn't really understand it-- but it was the most boring film I've ever seen in the cinema.

A few years later I watched Never Let me go. The atmosphere at the end was highly depressive

La la land...total shit!

languagelover96 · 22/01/2022 14:26

Spiderman 3

SantaClawsServiette · 25/01/2022 23:58

I am another who hated The Blair Witch Project.

I left Eyes Wide Shut, something I have never done before or since. And not because it was controversial or raunchy like it was supposed to have been, it was just the most tedious shite ever.

prettybird · 26/01/2022 09:35

Interesting how many people walked out of Eyes Wide Shut (or thought that it was boring) because I walked out of Barry Lyndon nearly c45 years ago, by the same director.

Didn't even consider going to see Eyes Wide Shut Wink

Tomb Raider the cradle of life

celiamary · 04/02/2022 22:27

The Sherlock Holmes film that came out in about 2010/2012 or so. It was so loud. DH is a Sherlock fan so I went with him, A Dire afternoon in Whitechapel. Only one other person in the theatre when lights went up.

celiamary · 04/02/2022 22:38

@prettybird, I feel the same about the book Barry Lyndon. To me; He is a really awful character so grubby and weak, nothing to redeem him.
Whereas in Vanity Fair Becky Sharp is deceitful and totally awful especially to her husband in later life. At least she would have given him a good time and been been fun for everyone else.

celiamary · 04/02/2022 22:51

"Girl on a Motorcycle", went with a new friend, She liked it. When the naked Marianne Faithful zipped up the onepiece motor bike leathers it squashed her boobs up before covering them. Lovely close up, I think every woman in the theatre laughed.
It then descended into terminal boredom. The crash was a relief and a signal that it was over.

I hated Monster’s Ball, Bridesmaids and, today, Moonfall - what a pile of tosh!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/02/2022 15:10

Downton Abbey

Prince of Tides

Viviennemary · 05/02/2022 15:17

Mamma Mia - worst film ever.
Mary Queen of Scots - such a disappointment as I'm interested in that period of history
Gone Girl. Went on far far too long. The book was better. Another disappointing film
My Cousin Rachel - it wasnt awful but I expected better. Bits of it were good

MaMaLa321 · 06/02/2022 09:10

Potiche with Catherine Deneuve. My DH loves foreign films, but we've seen alot of really bad ones

  • something about dogs taking over
  • one about an avalanche threatening to overwhelm a hotel and the husband runs away and the effects on their marriage etc etc
  • cache
- a lot of girls in a convent school start fainting the Parapluies de Cherbourg plus most Coen brother films. I adore Fargo but honestly, they are cut so much slack by critics for frankly mediocre films - Hail Caesar stands out for one.
notacooldad · 07/02/2022 12:43

I’ve seen a lot of buzzard French films that I didn’t enjoy.
One was from about 2004 called Innocence.
There was another one about a family who went on holiday with some others and , I can’t remember the detail, but something like the mum ends up with a lover and the son came out gay. Maybe not that but the relationship with each other completely changed while on this holiday,.
Do always checks out what I suggest now rather than blindly go with me.

He has already said no to the latest Almodovar film and told me to go with my mates instead!

‘Science of sleep’was bad. However I only went because it was a younger Gael Garcia Brunel in it so that was a sweetener! Thinking about it ‘a little piece of heaven was a shocker to. Maybe GGB should have stayed with Spanish speaking films!

Black Swan was awful.

Some of my absolute favourite films of all time are mentioned here!

Hbh17 · 12/06/2022 18:11

Lord of the Rings - I fell asleep.

Lord of the Rings - I fell asleep.

That's another one I fell asleep in. I was on a date with someone too. Problem was it was lord of the rings 3 that he badly wanted to go watch and I hadn't seen the 1st or 2nd ones. I woke up at some point and the screen had gone black so I was like oh thank fuck for that it's finished, and then the bastard screen lit up again and even more of the film carried on. I went back to sleep at that point. My exH put the first one on one night when it was his turn to choose a film. Again I fell asleep pretty much straight away

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind1 · 13/06/2022 13:31

Lawnmower Man, total steaming pile of shit.
I know loads of people who hated Power of The Dog, but I absolutely loved it, saw it twice at the cinema and a few times at home since

jollygoose · 13/06/2022 13:38

Murder on the Orient Express - I have never been so bored.

Sunnytwobridges · 13/06/2022 14:05

The Flintstones, the A/C was not working in and it was the middle of the summer. Was such a miserable experience

SherbetDips · 13/06/2022 15:01

Ruby Sparks! What a pile of crap that was.

Black Swan is my most hated film ever, I'll watch any old shite, even channel 5 films, but that was unbelievably godawful.
