What is the worst film / most crappiest experience you've ever had in a cinema ?

I'll start. I remember watching the zodiac. I was immature and didn't really understand it-- but it was the most boring film I've ever seen in the cinema.

A few years later I watched Never Let me go. The atmosphere at the end was highly depressive

Paris by Night and Get Shorty. Fell asleep during the latter.

Rhubarb01 · 14/06/2022 19:38

I should add it was the 1988 version of Paris by Night.

For different reasons, Seven is also one of the worst/most disturbing films I've seen and I have never watched it again. The first two films were just dire.

Where the wild things are. I thought I was going doolally- it had such critical acclaim, people fawning over it, it was just rubbish. Even the kids thought so.

CrossPurposes · 14/06/2022 23:31

Evolution was sexist rubbish (and I love Julianne Moore).

SteveMcDougall · 24/06/2022 10:56

Definitely 50 Shades of "gray", which was a little more 50 shades of mild more than anything. Watched this with my wife on our honeymoon in New York, and we were both very disappointed with the movie.

It had such a big build up, so much talk of how "on the edge" it was meant to be, and then ...

newfriend05 · 02/07/2022 01:47

Vanilla sky ... the guy I was with fell asleep 😂

Autienotnaughtie · 02/07/2022 01:51

I was pregnant, I went to see The Blair Witch project. Ended up being sick in the toilets due to the shaky camera.

Celia24 · 02/07/2022 03:19

The absolute worst was Mother. Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Hail Caesar and The Woman in Black all deserve honourable mentions.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 02/07/2022 20:49

I walked out if the Blair Witch Project because it was shit. I'm old, though...

RedRec · 02/07/2022 23:28

Saw the new Elvis film yesterday. That was pretty shit.

RedRec · 02/07/2022 23:31

RedRec · 02/07/2022 23:28

Saw the new Elvis film yesterday. That was pretty shit.

But the worst film I ever saw at the cinema (and the only one I ever walked out of) was Trading Places.

RightOnTheEdge · 02/07/2022 23:35

The one I hated the most was Evita.
I don't think it is a shit film I think it was just me. All the singing just bored me to tears and got on my nerves.
I don't mind musicals like Greece or Disney films but I hate ones where its entirely singing.

Robin Hood with Russell Crowe. Utter shite.

Agreed, so disappointing, and just bleak. I love Robin Hood films usually but that was grim. No derring-do, no merry men, just grey and rainy .

ItWillBeOkHonestly · 02/07/2022 23:47

Blair Witch Project - loads of snorting and heavy breathing into the camera and not much else

Pret-a-Porter - still have no idea what that was about

tobee · 03/07/2022 00:23

Top of my head

Peter's Friends - ghastly cringe
Over the Hedge
How to Get A Head in Advertising - unpleasant and stupid (loved Withnail though)
Bullets Over Broadway - I'm not sure why that was so bad.

cormorant5 · 03/07/2022 10:23

"Girl on a Motorcycle". It was like a very long introduction to an Autobahn crash. Bonkers!
They edited it for tv recently, where she puts the one piece motorcycle suit on and otherwise naked. All the women in the cinema laughed when her boobs squashed up as she closed the zipper. I don't think they were the actresses, they had a boob double.

stargirl1701 · 03/07/2022 10:27

Tron - the 1980s version.

The Hunt for the Red October

658Doyouknowwheremysparkis · 03/07/2022 10:27

Lincoln … I actually fell asleep was soo boring

OneFootintheRave · 03/07/2022 10:49

I have walked out of three movies in the cinema in my life:

Leaving Las Vegas (depressing and long winded and was with a friend I had not seen for ages and we wanted to talk).

From Dusk til Dawn (Shite).

Hangover 3 (utter shite and received a booty call).

Not necessarily the worst movies I have ever seen. That accolade goes to..A Zed and Two Noughts. Fucking hell!

mumwon · 04/07/2022 23:09

I was on a course & with a group of other people so I couldn't walk out
The Hills have eyes - it was totally disgusting

absolutelynotfabulous · 07/07/2022 08:12

Blair Witch Project - really hyped up but a pile of twaddle.

Spencer - managed to get to the end but loads of people walked out. Bizarre film.

PinotGroggio · 07/07/2022 08:20

"The Corn brothers" 🤣🤣

MissBattleaxe · 07/07/2022 08:50

Spencer was terrible. I don't know how it got made. I also hated Born on the Fourth of July with Tom Cruise. It made the same point over and over until I couldn't take any more,

Taytocrisps · 20/07/2022 21:12

It's probably a toss up between 'The Hunt for Red October' and 'There Will Be Blood'.

DoingJustFine · 21/07/2022 11:48

Inception. We walked out.
