I’ll start off with musicals:
Russell Crowe in Les Miserables
Piers Brosnan in Mamma Mia
I don’t think their singing was strong enough. There were enough star names so I wished the producers had been braver and cast unknowns who could act and sing.
Awwww but Pierce is lovely though!
I was an extra in his film 'No Escape' (which was originally called The Coup, and filmed in Thailand just weeks before a real-life coup happened!); one scene took place in a bar, where he had to drunkenly sing the most awful song. We did so many takes, and each one got more and more hilarious. At the end of the final take, he got off the stage, and said,
"I'm much better with Abba songs"... to which I very quickly, and without thinking, said, "Ummm... you really aren't".
He just burst out laughing, and said something about it being a fair cop!
He really is a smashing guy, and such a professional. Owen Wilson was in the film too, and he was really sweet. Very quiet, incredibly polite and well-mannered.
Pierce's wife, Keely, is a lot of fun, too. We bonded over shared incredulity at how all the kathoey in the film could walk in impossibly high heels, and still look as though are gliding on air!
