Films

Well, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back- disappointing films you've seen?

Last night I snuggled down in clean PJs with popcorn and wine to watch the much-hyped "Girl on a Train". I noticed it was on Amazon Prime yesterday morning as was looking forward all day to watching it.

Well, what a completely bloody waste of time that was.

It was absolute horse shit and I genuinely went to bed feeling a bit deflated.

What disappointing films have you seen that you wish you hadn't bothered with?

Lost in translation - impenetrable bollix
Mulholand drive - wank

We watched 'Swiss Army Man' last night on Amazon Prime...I don't even know what to say

In the Cut with Meg Ryan and Mark Ruffalo is the only film I've ever got up and left. It was so dull. I can't remember anything about it except I fell asleep and my friend prodded me awake there may have been snoring and we just left.

Interstellar. I was so bored. I usually adore Nolan too but I just couldn't get into it.

As a pp said .. the lobster was soo soo strange !!

Can't even remember the title but some drivel with Wesley Snipes skydiving (not my choice, I hasten to add).

Independence Day. God. It was a first date. I didn't see him again.

Also, Mulholland Drive, because I really wanted to like it but my degree in Philosophy did nothing to help me work out what the hell it was all about.

Agree with all the films mentioned being shite. Apart from child 44 and Gangs of New York.

And can I add under the skin with Scarlett Johansen as a pile of shite.

Lord of The Rings - only watched the first film - boring as hell and I felt that I'd grown old in my seat. It was about three hours, i think, and felt like as many years.

And also, Child 44. The book was so exciting and engrossing, and they ruined the film - changed minor details that didn't;t need to be altered and just turned a really interesting thriller into a load of cock.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/10/2017 17:47

Oh - I'd forgotten Under the Skin. The book was quite disturbing and really made the reader thin about the way we use and abuse the animals we eat - the film was rubbish!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/10/2017 17:47

*think, not thin

MyCatMyRules · 07/10/2017 17:48

Girl on a train
Mama mia

Both utter drivel.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 09/10/2017 23:46

La La Land. Why did it win so many Oscars? It was so boring. I loved Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in Crazy Stupid Love but they were flat in La La Land.

Eat Pray Love was fucking painful. I don’t think I made it to the end. Or I passed out with boredom, can’t remember.

DH and I have tried to watch Law Abiding Citizen 3 times now and each time I’ve fallen asleep half way through. It’s not a terrible movie at all and I like Gerard Butler, but systemically blowing another character every 5 minutes is a bit dull. I don’t care enough to watch the end

RedheadinCamelFlarge · 20/10/2017 10:12

ChiefClerkDrumknott I came on here specifically to say 2001: A Space Odyssey. What a pile of shite.

American Hustle! All those great actors but such a crap film. Couldn't make head nor tail of it and gave up after about an hour! Such a disappointment
