Well, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back- disappointing films you've seen?

Last night I snuggled down in clean PJs with popcorn and wine to watch the much-hyped "Girl on a Train". I noticed it was on Amazon Prime yesterday morning as was looking forward all day to watching it.

Well, what a completely bloody waste of time that was.

It was absolute horse shit and I genuinely went to bed feeling a bit deflated.

What disappointing films have you seen that you wish you hadn't bothered with?

"Eyes wide shut" I was just like what? That's it? What's all the fuss about.

"Passengers" Confused so schlocky

I love sci fi and "arrival" left me cold

Mistoffelees · 07/08/2017 23:24

Several films that I really shouldn't have bothered with because I'd read the book- I Am Legend, One Day, Harry Potter, The Hobbit
Some that are just awful, lots already mentioned but also- Children of Men, Raising Arizona, most Tarantino films.

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 07/08/2017 23:27

Waded through Child 44 last night - mumbly accenty dialogue all filmed in the dark for two and a half friggin hours. I thought it was a remake of the excellent Citizen X with Stephen Rea - silly me.

Dh bailed early - quitter.

NikiBabe · 07/08/2017 23:35

Moonlight.

Best picture my arse.

Main character stands around with his gob shut for 2 hours and barely speaks.

Nothing happens to him much. The end.

therealpippi · 07/08/2017 23:37

Lalaland. Just awful.

Mrsjohnmurphy · 07/08/2017 23:54

American Mary was pure shite, but enjoyable in a way.

Human centipede-bollocks

Toy story 1-3 not my cup of tea

Pretty much all star wars, have me squirming with boredom

I think it might have been guardians of the galaxy, was supposed to be funny? How?

Black swan

ladymariner · 08/08/2017 00:21

La La Land - hate jazz though so probably my own fault

Cold Mountain - abject misery all the way through, felt like having a bath and lobbing the hairdryer in to round the night off nicely

American Hustle - even the divine Mr C couldn't save this one

The Cat In The Bastarding Fucking Hat - no words

Birdman - wtaf?????

ladymariner · 08/08/2017 00:28

Walking On Sunshine - absolute dross

Sunshine On Leith - see above, although the music was brilliant, do love the Proclaimers

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy - so boring I fell asleep, woke up, watched five minutes, thought fuck this and went back to sleep 💤 💤

DilysMoon · 08/08/2017 00:37

Lala Land
Walking on Sunshine
The Royal Tennenbaums

Did not like Bridesmaids on first viewing but I've seen it again and it's grown on me (a bit).

Watched something recently at the cinema, was dire but I can't even remember what it was called.

DilysMoon · 08/08/2017 00:40

It was Baywatch, just remembered with The Rock. Awful. Made worse as was with a friend who thought it was great.Hmm

ceecee32 · 08/08/2017 00:45

Just got back from watching Valerian. That was more than 2 hours that I will never get back. What a complete load of tosh

HotLadybird · 08/08/2017 00:48

Blair Witch Project. Utter crap.

Lucie8881 · 08/08/2017 01:02

I found Interstellar shockingly slow and dull.

Meet Joe Black was tedious, I just about made it through one sitting at the pictures. Conversely, it is one of DH's favourite films, if we stumble across it I'm usually asleep within 20 mins.

littlejeopardy · 08/08/2017 01:10

Why do threads like these make me happy?

Only film I ever walked out of is the Borat movie. Best decision I ever made.

I loved the LOTR films, especially the battle of Helms Deep, but the Hobbit ones are awful. They completely lost the feel of the book, I wanted fat fussy Bilbo being out of his depth but saving the day through his quick wit and hobbitness. Instead I got CGI Martin Freeman super imposed on inflated action sequence after inflated action sequence.

Also watched Doctor Strange this week and gave up halfway. Marvel by numbers. DH really liked it though.

PinkGlitter17 · 08/08/2017 01:15

Unfaithful, with Richard Gere and Diane Lane. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and was actually angry at the end - because I'd wasted those two hours. Pile of pants.

GloveBug · 08/08/2017 01:16

Cake. Was really looking forward to it but just couldn't get in to it. Just left me feeling depressed afterwards Sad

GloveBug · 08/08/2017 01:18

Oh and Lost in Translation was probably the most dissapointing

NikiBabe · 08/08/2017 01:20

Valerian was beautiful visually but the plot was crap and dialogue embarrassing and the characters no chemistry.

It was painful to watch them.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 09/08/2017 20:09

The one Leo won a Oscar for..whatever that was called. Just went on..and on..and on..he has a really bad day/week/month!!

Fault in our stars..Thought I was going to cry but found the main male character so annoying that couldn't get upset!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 09/08/2017 21:14

This reminds me of a work mate-many years ago,new bf and big crush on Brad Pitt. He (bf)took her to see A River Runs Through It. Next morning we asked how it was. A look of pure horror came over her face. "Fishing. A film about fishing"

3wayburger · 09/08/2017 21:47

Anchor Man 2 = utter shite
Cabin in the woods = total shite

dustarr73 · 09/08/2017 21:49

Anything with Adam Sandler icavoid like the plague.I really can't stand him.

MargoChanning · 09/08/2017 21:50

Watched Doctor Strange the other night on sky cinema. Dire. At one point benedict cumberbatch says 'asshole' in an american accent and it just seemed so so wrong.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 09/08/2017 21:50

Vanilla Sky
The Harry Hill Movie (probably could have predicted that would be crap but the kids wanted to watch it)

anonymice · 09/08/2017 21:58

Boogie nights. Total drivel.
