Thanks to ToccataAndFudge for the name

Right, so this is where those of us with depression can write our lists of daily achievements!

...hopefully tomorrow's list will be better than today's...

Oh yes it's now 11.10am and ds not crying YAY!!!!! Has put a big smile on my face, sun is shinning and have sorted what I'm cooking for dinner (doing roast so nice and easy).

Just want to say a big THANKS to everyone who has been so supportive over the past few day's. It's helped so much

toccatanfudge · 22/04/2010 11:32

woke up with good intentions - and have so far done sod all

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 12:11

hiya LM I've got the doc! will have a look for you soon. Bangin headache this morning (only half a bottle of wine last night tho )

not much achieved here either (whispers: I am still in bedclothes ) I just lose motivation when kids are not here.

Hooray Buttons a moment of peace!

Have to say your ds sounds JUST like ds1. There was no pattern to his crying, he was just hypersensitive, totally easily bored, wanted in fact to be walked round all day being shown different things, and even then he would get overtired and blow up. Now he is an utter geek with incredible powers of concentration when it comes to the PSP! hehe

xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2010 13:27

Allegrageller are you talking about my DS1? They sound like the same child! I had to walk around all day with DS1, we used to spend ten mins in each room until he got bored, then he'd get overtired, scream himself to sleep, sleep for exactly 35 mins while I'd make my lunch or do some housework as quickly as I could, wake up hungry, repeat, repeat, repeat until bedtime! And now my DS1 is an utter geek with incredible powers of concentration!!!! My DS1 had to have one-to-one help at preschool for adapting to routine and social skills. He used to have quite a temper too and hit the staff. He's fine now though at school. I even had to write an article about him in the 'early years magazine' or something!

Having agood day here. Just had chips and curry sauce for lunch and making DS3 some tomatoes to go in the freezer. I slept really well last night so feeling great (DH didn't though as he was on DS3 duty and DS3 woke up about 5 times).

Buttons2708 · 22/04/2010 13:28

ALLEGRAGELLER I did question weather it was boredom and have enrolled in 'baby peep' and 'baby sign', they start next week Ttuesday and Wednesday's so here's hoping! I'd love to still be in my bedclothes, lucky thing nothing with pyjama day!!

Tocca I'm sure you'll get something done by the end of the day, your up at least!

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 13:34

aw god yes BBL it was nightmare wasn't it! I thought I'd never have another one!!

I would swear that kid didnt' sleep longer than 20 mins in the day after 3 months. I remember at 4 months thinking watching him straining his way out of it to see everything, 'shouldn't he be asleep after half an hour walking around!' heheh Bedtime not much relief as for about a year and a half he just used to scream himself into exhaustion, nothing helped, if you went in he would start grinning and capering about....

yep we have clearly bred determined clever geeks. Ds1 was trouble at school in the first year , but he's an end of July boy. Is now near top of class apparently but still bonkers and quite the drama king at times! Lovely companion though most of time, sometimes I forget he is only 6 as he is such an interesting conversationalist! hehe

In all seriousness though he totally wore me out for 2 and a half years at least and can still be very hard work now. I was so depressed thinking his behaviour was because I was a bad mother...and just the sheer exhaustion of having to deal with an incredibly demanding child all the time. Do feel for Buttons etc, it just feels as if it'll never end.

mmmm chips and curry sauce...

right, sister is ill so have to pick up niece from childminder, no point trying to work much ;)

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2010 13:51

I feel the same way about my DS1, he's a great companion. I thought the same: I thought I was a bad mother and when his preschool key worker took me aside and said 'I want to apply for one-to-one funding for him' I thought I was a failure and to get the funding the regional person had to come and observe him. It was so frightening. But I think I have such a special bond with him as we went through such tough times together. I'm surprised I wanted another one but DS2 came along and he was a dream baby. I remember putting him in the moses basket to sleep and he, just, like, went to sleep! And stayed alsleep!

Buttons I feel for you, I've been there too. It does get easier, I promise.

I think I've had too much caffine this morning, I feel all hyper! Ah, DS3 awake, better go.... that was about 30 minutes. He's not as challenging as DS1 was but he has his moments.

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 14:16

yeah BBL, I was in total shock that ds2 would do stuff like sit in his chair and look at things quietly! I ended up ignoring the poor boy a lot as ds1 is such a dominating personality and talked over him/for him all the time...

ah yes the 30 min nap- just enough time to relax a bit but not enough to do anything...

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2010 17:00

I hope this amuses everyone: just realised I was wearing my dress inside out all day. I've now turned it the right way around. Nobody pointed this out to me and I've been to a meeting at DS1's school, to a friend's for coffee, to school again, and to Asda.

Buttons2708 · 22/04/2010 18:21

BBL, LMAO so funny, I'm laughing so much as I can imagine me doing the same thing!!!!

LittleMarshmallow · 22/04/2010 19:38

Evening all, I have been quite busy today had to take ds to his dieticians app then my gp app and went to meet some recruitment people.

House is like a tip because of all the rushing around and stuff. Took ds to buy flowers from Morrisons today he nearly made the poor woman at the checkout cry when she asked him who the flowers were for to which he replied my daddy. She went on to ask him why he was buying his daddy flowers, for ds to pipe up because he is dead! I wanted the ground to open up at that point.

BBL - your dress story sounds like something I would do also. I hope you can laugh about it now though

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 19:39

heheh BBL saw your FB update. You probably looked all fashionable, everyone will be doing it tomorrow

LittleMarshmallow · 22/04/2010 19:41

Evening Alle. Did you get any work done today?

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 19:50

not a sausage :S it's been a lovely day though. Opps for work were ruined because my sick sister needed help with my niece.

Did you have a look at the CV?

xx

LittleMarshmallow · 22/04/2010 19:56

re CV - I did, totally agree with what you were saying will do some more rework later on.

Remember the voice mail from the cpn? well I got home and I have a different even more bizarre message on my house phone.

I am sat listening to sad music Ben kinda started it and I haven't turned it off since he went to bed. I might be having a few glasses of wine tonight

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 20:03

argh I must stay off the wine! had horrible headache this a.m. and have to drive round to take my niece to nursery early tomorrow a.m. as sis still isn't well...

What madness are those women throwing at you now?

Remember willsurvive and I have offered to draft a complaint for you...note down all the issues recently, you could write a letter a few pages long I bet....

LittleMarshmallow · 22/04/2010 20:12

We could add in my current gp's helpful suggestion of contacting my old gp who practices 1 hr away to see if he will treat me as a temp patient for the next 3 months. Her justification? well you trust him!!!!

allegrageller · 22/04/2010 20:13

riiiiight. Is the current gp the one who told you you 'should die' for being depressed?!

LittleMarshmallow · 22/04/2010 20:16

No that was a different Gp at my old practice where I used to stay, where the good gp also works.

Speaking of wine, have you tried just drinking spirits, I find they cause less of a headache.

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2010 20:42

I did laugh about the dress. I don't care! I do stupid things all the time!

LittleMarshmallow · 23/04/2010 07:22
