Could we have a support thread for those who have manic depressive illness / bipolar disorder?

I don't see it talked about much here but it is quite common - I can't believe there are not other Mners who have it? Even if you name change it would help to hear how you manage your lives with it, etc.

I take medication, having had times where I didn't want to /self-medicated with alcohol etc....I find that it helps but I do still have relapses and after dd3 was born had to go into hospital for a month because sleep disrupted nights and stress with family made me get unwell.

All in all I find it exhausting to live with as well as frustrating.

i forgot to say ,that is not at all acceptable behaviour from your dd. But she may be picking up on your anxieties and getting them herself,is this out of character for her ?

DD1 has always been like this.

An incident broke out tonight over a poxy sock that D2 was waving about....DD1 ended up sitting on DD2 and sat on her wrist and has bent it right back.
I fear a hosp visit coming on tomorrow for it could be a fracture..

DD1 is a bloody nightmare. She always has been. Agressive, argumentative. DD2 always bears the brunt of it, she gets hit, namecalled, punched and hurt most days. She packed her bags once and headed off to her dads house....where he sent her back again.
DD2 often talks about the 'sadness in her stomach' and how she's tried all the time and fed up of the shouting.

Even the cat hasn't got off free, where DD1 pushed her out of an upstairs window once. I often get called names by her. Bitch, cunt, lazy fucking nobody and idle bastard are common. D2 is the same.

Cahms said there was nothing wrong with her....and often in these cases...she only paints one side of the picture without asking me. Doc says she is fine.
However the SS and our family worker are concerned. For me and for DD2.
I have a meeting with the FW and the exh is coming around early so we can all speak without the kids there. I just hope exh listens to me this time....as he's refused to have temprary custody of DD1 before. he refused to take the girls when I wanted to go into hospital
Both him and DD1 all need a kick up the arse.

oh dear , its no wonder you are having problems yourself.This must be awful to live with and its very obvious that you need help with dd1.It will be having an impact on dd2 as well.Does she get punished and does she accept that she needs to be punished when she kicks off like this ? i do hope dd2,s wrist is ok.the childrens dad cannot walk away from the problems with dd1,its not just your responsibility, and you need all the help you can get not just for your sake but for the two girls sakes as well.

you are the second person on this thread to do that.Have you taken it all off ? What put that thought into your head ,just when you need your hair as the cold is on its way,you will have to get yourself a trendy hat to go out in or you will freze.No point worrying about it now ,you have done it.It doent take that long for it to grow back so in the meantime you get to experiment with different headgear !there is a positive side to most things and you could have some really cool designs.
