I've been off work nearly three months now and am just really fed up with myself now. i've refused any meds but I just cant get over it. I started my counselling last week, and am hopeful she can sort me out. it was caused by by son having an accident, and juggling work etc which just got too much and made me cry.
Id had a lot of panic attacks but they are getting better but now I just feel worried when i go out, and that i want to cry.
Today I just can't breathe. I don't know if i'm worse today because i'm due on too.
I just really feel i've lost my way and lost confidence in myself, and i dont know what to do to get myself back.
I'm all crabby and wound up with people too - no patience.
I think the doctor is fed up with me too and i'm also worried she won't keep giving me sick notes, i'm never usually ill.......

Don't panic~phone for advice from the gp to see if you need anti virals for your dcs.
Are you 100% sure or is it a maybe?
The illness in this country doesn't seem to be as virulent as that in mexico.
But phone for advice I would say.

blissa · 12/05/2009 13:50

Hi yommy, God I thought I had it close to home! Agree with backtowork, phone somewhere for advice.

Have you been for your appointment yet?

DD1 came home from school yesterday saying they are doing SATS all this week. She is in yr3- I didn't think they did them? She had them in yr2 last year. She is happy as it means there will be no homework this week!

I got myself worked up this morning as I was chatting to a mum from school who commented on my weightloss. I ended up telling her the whole tale and could feel myself panicking. I really should be able to talk about it by now.

I've just been looking on the No More Panic site, it has lots of info on the symptoms of anxiety, including muscle aches and tension. It's still causing me discomfort. Think I may finally give that relaxation cd a go tonight

morningsun · 12/05/2009 14:32

Blissa i really think that talking about it will come with time.
It has been the last thing for me to get better and I've had quite a bit longer than you.
My ds missed yesterday~he doesn't have sats per se[to send away] as they've done away with them in wales but they still do them I think to level the children.
I hope he gets to do maths as he really likes it!
What did dd1 have yesterday?

blissa · 12/05/2009 17:16

She says it was reading yesterday and literacy today. I think it's for teachers assessment. I wish she liked maths, she takes after me I'm afraid, gets mental block when it comes to numbers!

Dcs are just having a quick tea before we have to go out again. Dd1 is getting enroled at Brownies tonight and we all get to watch.

mooseloose · 12/05/2009 20:08

Hi all, morning - Ds hasnt mentioned any tests at all.I know they have two weeks to do them at any time. I haven't spoken to him about it at all. He is year 2.

I know they also do unreported sats in all years above too. DS9 crying tonight (age 9, not 9 children!) because the TA told him 'you can't colour very well can you' and he said he was trying his hardest! Last week the head in a bonkers assebley made a point about rules being there for a reason. But she told them there were now new rules for friends - have to be same age/hair colour/eye colour/same hobbies. She picked on ds best friend to make the point - he has red hair and glasses!! How bad is that! It was a joke obviously but the children didn't understand that. ds cried, and so did a lot of others! So two lots of tears in one week!

Work rubbish today (3 hours) Felt Ineeded to cry all morning, and felt overwhelmed and sad . Blissa - I can't talk/tell people how I am too - get all tongue tied.

moose~I know how it works in our school both from previous experience and speaking to the teacher~I know her quite well. The sats have been abolished in Wales and at key stage 1 the teacher does various assessments, comprehensions, reading and maths assessments in a low key way and thus confirms the level she already believes the children to be working at~ level 2b being the yr group average at yr 2.
My ds always reports any unusual work of any kind so has told me all about the comprehensions etc done in groups and about the extra homework!I obviously haven't mentioned tests to him as they aren't taking formal tests.
The school assembly sounds very odd!

YommyMommy · 13/05/2009 07:30

Morning Girls,

I am shattered today! Never got to sleep til after 1.30 last night because of this whole swne flu thing! The kid who plays with my little boys has been confirmed with swine flu, so they have been round the doors taking swabs from the other kids, apparently mine don't qualify because they only have runny noses! lol! Weird! They have all been given tammi flu and told to stay indoors, we on the other hand have to carry on with life as usual! When I called NHS 24 this morning they spoke to me like I was wasting their time! Nightmare!

Anyway, I went to my GP yesteray which I think went fairly well. I told her I didn;t want meds so she said we have to work out where I want to go with the recovery. She gave me a leaflet for a service near me which offers a range of courses from massage to CBT. I am going to get in contact woth them to see what they recommend!

Hope you all have a good day! Sounds like you are all cought with kids exams, etc! Mine are still too little

jrsqueak · 13/05/2009 08:23

Morning all.

Can I join in too. I have been struggling for 18 months now. Was seeing some mental health nurse but she now thinks I am ok. I am very good at hiding things from other people - family etc. Only dh gets it in the neck - oh and my 3 dc. Wake up most mornings feeling down - need motivating.

blissa · 13/05/2009 10:37

Morning girls

Your poor ds moose, that's awful for to have said that to him, and that assembly sounds very strange! I think the only reason dd1 told me about the tests was because she was so happy not to be getting homework this week! I never mentioned them when she was doing them last year, I don't think she was aware. I don't really agree with them tbh, think England should follow Wales' lead!
Sorry work wasn't good, hope tomorrow goes better.

Glad your appointment went well yommy, I've heard lots of good things about CBT, it would be well worth looking into.

Hi jrsqueak, hope your day is going well. When did you stop seeing the nurse?

Still feeling off. Did the relaxation cd last night, followed by a hot bath, helped a bit. Still feeling jittery this morning

mooseloose · 13/05/2009 10:57

hi girls - hello jr squeak! Feel free to join our daily moans! We all think it helps!

Yommy, I would be really worried if i lived where you do - I cant believe the nhs are unhelpful, it's terrible! Keep washing your hands!!!

Morning, our teacher also said 2b was average, and also they do a lot more of the assessing too, so thats a good thing!

Raining today so i just had a cuppa and a bag of mini choc digestives. It helped, truly .

Blis, I first tried the relax cd in the bath, but it was ridiculous cos I couldn't spread my arms legs about like it said! Counsellor laughed! I go back next week.

OP posts:
blissa · 13/05/2009 11:08

Lol moose. This one had me tensing each set of muscles then relaxing them, didn't like the chest bit where I had to take a deep breath! There is another but to do which I might try when ds is at pre-school.

It's raining here too, really miserable

blissa · 13/05/2009 11:09

mooseloose · 13/05/2009 11:11

OP posts:
blissa · 13/05/2009 11:29

Me too! Hope you don't get too wet in the garden

blissa · 14/05/2009 18:24

Hi all, how are we?

I've had a really horrible afternoon with dd2, she came back from school and has been screaming, shouting and hitting, can't wait til bedtime!

Attempted a yoga dvd this morning, it was hard work and now I'm aching in more places!

mooseloose · 14/05/2009 22:15

I like yoga Blis. i broke my ankle a couple of years ago and I did that while housebound! Are you all bendy now?

My ds3 horrid too. Told me there ere better mummies than me. . He said noone plays with him at school, but really he is so bossy and crabby and argumentative and grumpy I know why! I'm sure he can't be my little boy!

YommyMommy · 15/05/2009 08:53

Morning Girls,

Blissa from the pictures of your kids I can;t believe any off them would be horrible to you! How decieveing . Hope you have a better day today with dd2!

How is work going Moose? Have you settled in anymore?

I am having a great week! NOT! Its my b'day this weekend and we are all in quarintine! lol! My ds1 had to be swabbed for swine flu yesterday and is currently taking tamiflu until we get the results today! Hes not unwell, just has a cold. Was supposed to be having a family night tonight, but no one wants to come near us! Understandable! Then I was going away on Sunday with my 2 best friends - that had to be cancelled too! .

I am coping well with the whole situation, not really had a panic about it at all! Hope this is a sign that I am turning a corner again, dont want to jinx myself!

Anywho - another borning day in the house and its raining today so not like we can get out to play in the garden! Argh! My ds1 will be climibing the walls!

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

blissa · 15/05/2009 12:54

Lol moose, I feel even more stiff today am not bendy at all! Will have to keep at it! Dd2 keeps telling me I am the worst mummy in the world and that I am wicked, all because I wouldn't let her do what she wanted to do after being rude to me. Oh well. Had a stressful morning with ds too, is there a full moon or something?

Hope work is going ok today

Don't know whose little angels you've been looking at yommy, I don't have pics on my profile. They do all have blonde hair and blue eyes and look like butter wouldn't melt haha

So sorry your plans have had to be cancelled. When do you get the swab results? I hope you enjoy your birthday anyway, it's mine next week too.

mooseloose · 16/05/2009 19:12

hello girls - hope you are getting thru the weekend ok Yommy? When are the results due, do you feel ill?

My little boy looks like an angel too! very big blue eyes - how deceptive!

Am ok today. Just tired. Went to a concert last night - The Specials! They were fab! fantastic atmosphere! Was a standing one, and everyone dancing and dressed up, was just great. i remembered a few songs, was a bit young really!

Hi girls.

Great news about your ds yommy, I'm glad you were able to go out for your birthday. Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning. I know exactly what you mean about your dh's job, I often wish my dp had a 9-5 monday to friday job.

Hi Candy, are you feeling any better as the day goes on? Very about your sister, is she getting any help?

Feeling pretty tired today and a bit achey still.

Rosepetal72 · 21/05/2009 09:43

Can I join please? I've being doing really well for quite a few months and then on Sunday I had a massive panic attack and it's gone downhill from there I am quite a strong person but can be quite nervy from time to time, I had my first attack on health anxiety after my grandad died when I was 12 and then all was well until I had my son at 22 and suffered for two years with the most awful PND and anxiety. The depression has for the most part gone but the anxiety remains and rears it's head when I am stressed.
