Hi all
Well I've picked up my prescription for citalopram I'm hoping to start taking it tomorrow morning but I'm already really anxious about it 😢
Anyone want to hold my hand

I also think taking them at night is better to avoid feeling ill

Llh1979 · 31/01/2021 20:46

@Heather104 I was ok on 5mg bit nausea but ok but 10mg has sent me mad
@Greenmarmalade I wish I did but they have destroyed me since going to 10mg on friday I've had the worst weekend I've had in along time

@Llh1979 that’s exactly why I didn’t do 10mg. are you going to go back to 5mg or just be done?

@Greenmarmalade I wish it only took 4 days to feel better. I’m 3 weeks in and still feel like garbage most days.

Llh1979 · 31/01/2021 21:09

@Heather104 I'm going to speak to my gp tomorrow and see what he suggest as when I spoke with 111 today the doc said he doesnt think that SSRIs are for me and suggests I stop but obviously speak to my gp 1st

Heather104 · 31/01/2021 23:04

@Llh1979 yeah that’s a good idea. I don’t think I’d take them

Llh1979 · 31/01/2021 23:05

@Heather104 it's just a nightmare

@Llh1979 that’s good. Are you feeling better today at all? Hopefully the medicine wears off fast since it was only a couple days.

Llh1979 · 01/02/2021 14:19

@Heather104 I still feel sick but have managed to eat something small and keep it down i didnt sleep well again but hopefully the new tablets will help

Heather104 · 01/02/2021 17:28

@Llh1979 hopefully so. What did they give you? Was it just something to not make you feel so sick?

Llh1979 · 01/02/2021 17:36

@Heather104 they have given me cycilizne*

Heather104 · 01/02/2021 19:59

@Llh1979 does it seem to be helping? I hope you’re feeling better.

Llh1979 · 01/02/2021 20:59

I've been on it on a pretty low dose for years, feel great on it. It just enables me to feel balanced/ "normal" rather than any kind of woohoo happy feeling. I was prescribed it for anxiety, which I also tackled with CBT etc over the years and definitely think it has worked. I hope it goes well. Keep note of anything you notice, mood lifted etc. Remember to jot down any other factors. GP might want to check in and see how it's going before you get your next lot of tablets. Good luck!Smile

Veryverycalmnow · 01/02/2021 21:08

Sorry, I hadn't read in full.
I hope something else works for you- I'm sure it will.

Heather104 · 01/02/2021 22:27

@Llh1979 are you still feeling pretty good good Ben though you haven’t gotten it yet?

@Veryverycalmnow. What is you dose you’ve been on?

Llh1979 · 01/02/2021 22:33

@Heather104 I'm feeling alot more positive I think its because someone has finally listened

OP posts:
Heather104 · 02/02/2021 14:03

@Llh1979 it’s always good when you feel like someone is finally listening and not just doing what they think. How are you feeling today?

Llh1979 · 02/02/2021 14:09

@Heather104 I was feeling nauseous this morning but having a much better afternoon

OP posts:
Heather104 · 02/02/2021 14:42

@Llh1979 that’s good. Were you able to get your medicine today?

Llh1979 · 02/02/2021 14:46

@yes after a meltdown in the chemist and them telling me it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow 🙈

OP posts:
Heather104 · 02/02/2021 16:41

@Llh1979 well good glad you got it. I don’t understand why it takes so long sometimes. If the doctor prescribed it you obviously need it now not in days.

Llh1979 · 02/02/2021 16:44

@Heather104 that was my argument in there that if it was an antibiotic for an infection then I would need it now not in 2 days time I understand they are busy but nomore busier than before covid its daft

OP posts:
Heather104 · 02/02/2021 17:41

@Llh1979 it’s ridiculous you’re absolutely right. I’m just glad you got it.

Llh1979 · 02/02/2021 18:13

@Heather104 let's hope it works 🤞
