@Llh1979 I felt the same way. It only lasted a day but that’s why I went back down to 5mg instead of the 10mg.

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 13:13

@Heather104 I was feeling bad before I took the 10mg I've had 2 hours sleep I honestly feel dreadful I cant get out of bed I cant eat I cant sleep my jaw is constantly clenched I feel so sick I just want it all to end I've rang the crisis line but they just said carry on with the meds

@Llh1979 that was me for about 3 days. I literally just paced the floors. I didn’t know what to do with myself I felt like I was going crazy. I’m so sorry it’s absolutely horrible. Do you have any meds to help you sleep?

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 15:29

@Heather104 no no meds to help me sleep I'm going to ask the doc on monday about them fornthe 1st 3 days I slept for 7.5 each night I think its because my anxiety has ramped up 10 fold is the reason I'm not sleeping I'm having such a hard time I havent felt like this since the very beginning back in December I'm hoping its stops soon before indo something stupid as those thoughts scare me

OP posts:
Heather104 · 30/01/2021 16:39

@Llh1979 I agree. I never had those kinda of thoughts before, it scared the heck out of me. I just tried to stay busy. I started coloring on my phone with an app. It’s helping so much. It’s called happy color. It might help to distract you.

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 17:30

@Heather104 thank you I'll have a look my friend has sent me a scrap book in the post today and said it's for happy memories only so going through photos to put in it
Have you found on the citalopram that you clench your jaw and have a dry mouth

OP posts:
Heather104 · 30/01/2021 18:07

@Llh1979 yes absolutely I do. My mouth feels like the desert. I need to get some hard candies or something. Yes scrape booking is always good too

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 18:10

@Heather104 mybjaw is so sore from the clenching and I keep chewing gum for the dry mouth I'm hoping it passes soon

OP posts:
Heather104 · 30/01/2021 18:47

@Llh1979 today is 3 weeks for me and the dry mouth is still there. I found chewing gum made my jaw hurt worse.

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 18:55

@Heather104 is it just as bad as when it 1st started

OP posts:
Heather104 · 30/01/2021 19:51

@Llh1979 not as bad but still drier than it was before starting. It’s more of the headaches that lingers

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 19:56

@Heather104 has your jaw clenching stopped

OP posts:
Heather104 · 30/01/2021 21:01

@Llh1979 no I find I still do it just not as bad.

Llh1979 · 30/01/2021 21:05

Can't recommend citalopram enough. Please take your pill and dont feel bad about it. I've been on 20mg a day for 8/9 years (with a break for pregnancy).
Without them I'd be miserable and afraid and I wouldn;t have the good life I have now.
For the first 2-3 weeks I didn't feel great, they take a while to get into your system but when they do, they're really helpful.
They give me more of an even keel. I still have down days but I'm not rocking in the corner anymore.
I take mine in the morning but if that doesn;t work for you, speak to your GP, there different types of anti-depressants which you can take at different times of day, depending on what suits you.
Also see if you can get some counselling too-speak to your GP, they're there to help.
My mum and friend recently started anti depressants-they both felt unsure about taking pills but persevered an now have better mental health.

good luck OP, they really do help.

Heather104 · 30/01/2021 22:58

@Llh1979 I still have those days where I wonder if I’m doing the right thing taking them. It does get easier. It’s still rough but I see where it is getting easier. We’ll stick it out together!!!

Llh1979 · 31/01/2021 07:50

@Heather104 if the nausea goes away I think I'll of won half the battle and yes we will stick this out together thank you x

@Llh1979 so how are you feeling today? Has the anxiety calmed down?

Llh1979 · 31/01/2021 14:00

@Heather104 I've been throwing up all morning I rang 111 and they have suggested trying a different medication as they think that SSRIs dont agree with me I feel back at square 1
How are you feeling?

OP posts:
Heather104 · 31/01/2021 19:05

@Llh1979 oh no... I never threw up felt like I could but never did. Just had diarrhea. A bit anxious today and headaches. Still zombie feeling. Did you already take today’s dose then?

Llh1979 · 31/01/2021 19:20

@Heather104 yes I took it when I got up then about 30 minutes later started to throw up so I think I've actually thrown the tablet up aswell
I really dont know what to do for the best I've had an awful time since upping to 10mg but 5mg wont do anything I know that

OP posts:
Heather104 · 31/01/2021 20:14

@Llh1979 I’m still taking 5mg. I hope it works and I won’t have to go up

Greenmarmalade · 31/01/2021 20:16

I love them. I was shaky for the first few days but it settled within 4 days.

Imissmoominmama · 31/01/2021 20:16

It saved my life.
