Basically the title I got admitted last night by the police was assessed and I agreed to go into hospital so waiting for a bed but I dont want to. Today i asked to go home as I feel fine but they wont let me they have all agreed I have to go in and are waiting for a hed to be available to place me on the section so I'm stuck in a room with 2 members off staff and cant go anywhere I hate it. The staff are nice but I'm taking up space I dont need to be here.

Give it a go op. Theres nothing to lose. Dont trust your own judgement right now, because you're self sabotaging right now. Sending hugs.

Chocolatethief · 22/09/2019 04:37

Being sent home just waiting for taxi, they aren't putting any support in place or anything

Beautiful3 · 22/09/2019 04:50

They usually give support in house. Cant see them setting anything up for outside the hospital, due to budget cuts. It's a shame you left, it would have benefited you.

Phycadelicsilhouette · 22/09/2019 07:38

Good morning @Chocolatethief. Sorry to hear you had such an up and down night. Did you choose to leave? Will you be able to speak to anybody today? I hope you are managing to get some decent sleep.

granadagirl · 22/09/2019 13:05

Next time you can’t manage and go to a&e(?)
Is that they only place available to you to get support other than phone crisis and then they only tell you go go a&e

If I were you, next time
If they offer to let your stay, stay
And get some therapy sorted from inside as once you come out your on your own again A’s you’ve learnt!
Crisis line is a waste? They just say
Are u safe? Calm yourself down, have you anything you can take
If you feel unsafe go to a&e
Then hours of waiting with everyone else to be triaged, wait for mh team to come and access you
9/10 they send you home, and told to go to gp
Vicious circle
Your very very lucky if you’ve got a team helping you, but I think that’s not many.

BendyLikeBeckham · 22/09/2019 13:33

@Phycadelicsilhouette very insightful post

@Chocolatethief Sorry to hear you asked for but didn't get the help you needed last night. You need a short and long term care plan in place, so you don't just end up yoyo-ing in and out of hospital. Can the MH community team not put this in place?

Sorry if I'm being naive about that. I have a friend in a similar situation and I know the services are basically just firefighting

BendyLikeBeckham · 23/09/2019 15:00

How are you doing today @Chocolatethief?

I've been thinking about you.

Chocolatethief · 23/09/2019 18:03

Having a bit of a better day today thank god, finally need it just hope it lasts been busy with appointments all day so been non stop and started to get a couple of stuff started that I could. Had a group session thing that I do today and hated the idea of going and was feeling very sarcastic as a comping mechanism but tried my best to get stuff out of it and will try to do what I have learnt. So feeling a bit more positive.

cakeandchampagne · 23/09/2019 18:55

Well done getting to your appointments!
And especially well done getting to the dreaded group session & letting your sarcasm sit this one out! Star

BendyLikeBeckham · 23/09/2019 20:26

sounds like a productive day. well done for getting through it.

TheSilveryPussycat · 23/09/2019 22:59

That all sounds very positive. And also, in going to the group session, you have shown that you are brave.

Phycadelicsilhouette · 24/09/2019 09:36

Good morning @Chocolatethief, so pleased to hear you had a better day yesterday and to echo everyone else a huge well done for attending the group session! Well done for the productivity too. How’s your cold?

Chocolatethief · 24/09/2019 20:06

Cold is a lot better than it was thankfully, went shopping today didn't really but much but its progress although all I wanted was to be in bed but pushed myself to be out for a couple of hours.

OP posts:
Phycadelicsilhouette · 24/09/2019 22:33

I’m so glad! It’s all progress, and I’m impressed that you decided to brave the weather ☔️ (I wimped out). You should be really very proud of the progress you’ve made since the start of this thread. Did you find anything nice shopping?
Do you have anything planned for the rest of the week?

Chocolatethief · 25/09/2019 17:29

Not having a good day today but have spoke to my care co and my doctor who has prescribed sleeping tablets for a week split into 2 prescriptions as she thinks its safer bit hopefully I will be able to finally get some sleep and that should help. Forced myself to go and get them as I really didn't want to leave my flat but needed them so that's an achievement for today. One step at a time that's all I can do

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 25/09/2019 17:30

That’s a huge step. And yes sleep is so important. You’re doing really well.

TheSilveryPussycat · 25/09/2019 23:21

Decent sleep can make such a difference. One of the psych meds l take at night really does make me sleep properly, for which I am grateful.

BendyLikeBeckham · 26/09/2019 17:45

One day at a time, is what I tell myself if I feel overwhelmed. That's all you can do. And it is good enough.

ISawyouinTescoyesterday · 26/09/2019 17:48

Op. Sending lots of love. My friend was in your position a few months a go. You are not alone Thanks

Chocolatethief · 26/09/2019 18:36

Going to a friends I've got seen in ages spent all day in bed so probably good to do this although I dont really want to got to force myself to do stuff.

OP posts:
cakeandchampagne · 26/09/2019 20:22

Good to hear you made the effort to get your medication, and are now going to visit your friend.
It’s like walking an extra lap when you really need the exercise- later you’ll be glad you pushed yourself a bit.

Wolfiefan · 26/09/2019 22:39

Hope you got to see your friend.

Phycadelicsilhouette · 26/09/2019 23:25

You’re doing a great job. Even with bad days you are still doing it. I hope you managed to get a decent sleep last night with the sleeping tablets and I hope you get a good sleep tonight. Have you had/having a nice evening with your friend?

Chocolatethief · 27/09/2019 20:14

Got back from my friends to my roof leaking in my flat it's never ending at the moment trying to laugh it off while waiting for someone to come out but just want to cry

OP posts:
Phycadelicsilhouette · 27/09/2019 21:19

I feel for you, what a pain in the arse! When you’re already having a tough time these things can seem even more significant and overwhelming so well done for managing to laugh it off (even if you did want to cry!) when will it be fixed?
Imagine it had happened in super heavy downfalls or during heavy snow and no one could get out, maybe a blessing in disguise Wink (I’ve tried to look at a broken down fridge freezer, a leaky boiler and a trickle valve that was letting water into the house... all within 2 weeks the same way ConfusedGrin)
What are your plans over the weekend?
