That's great to hear!

Yesterday we went straight to my friend's house after school, I took DD home at 9, DS2 and I got home at 1. They're both kind of comatosed at the moment! 😂

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/11/2018 17:47

Not a good night here.ds woke everyone screaming at 3am then threw himself down on his knees in front of me screaming heart racing now felt like stopping....

We had entrance test for lil zoo secondary.i was anxious D's anxious as busy and chaotic and we were jostled in confined space cue panic attacks for us bothSadonce lil zoo in test dd2 sat n waited her come out .D's n I came home and dd2 took lil Zoo dance class too(for cash)

Zoo I hope you and ds are feeling less anxious now and that the tea went well for dd

PhilomenaButterfly · 17/11/2018 18:58

Hope everything's nice and calm there now zoo. Flowers

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/11/2018 19:46

He's pacing his room....I suspect will ring his dad for a chat (at work.supporting MH ndependant living so this time of night be in office of residents building doing paperwork as do sleep in(actually sleeps there, but can be woken if necessary by clients))
He knows I'm on dd2 time/our dinner(he eats earlier with lil zoo as they prefer eat around 6,we prefer about 730-8)and he's had some attention on I think he's fretting more hours at school Monday tbh and coming to meet me outside school gates.im hoping I'm not raining on his parade by saying I'm worried this week will see the start of a decline again as when he returned to school after original panic attack he was ok for few days improving then totally went to pieces....

Time for me to eat and try and relax with dd2 n bit law and order svu!!!

I wish it was zoo! DS2 apparently doesn't care about being late for school, he took an hour to get dressed, eat breakfast and get washed, so we had to run. How do I give him an incentive to stop fucking about? He obviously doesn't care about the natural consequence, which would be to be late. Confused

My almost 16 year old DD has started having panic attacks. Pacing the floor, heart beat increased, feeling faint, scared. Started getting stress-related IBS. Highly academic, but says it's not school academic stress. We saw a doctor two weeks ago re stomach pains. He recommended Buscopan for IBS, but these panic attacks have been more recent. Three over the last week, usually late at night. There have been boy-issues over the last few months, but she says it's not that either, doesn't know what's wrong with her. She's not been that communicative with me or her dad over the last year, but since this started, she's been wanting hugs and been tearful and needing us. She's always been a bit of a perfectionist and a worrier, takes things to heart bless her. The academics have never been pushed by us at all by the way, she has always felt the urge to excel. I've got another doctor's appointment next Monday, but does anyone have any coping strategies until then?

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/11/2018 19:13

WelcomeBrighton home
What are you looking for help with exactly?how are you guys managing the panic attacks etc at the mo?

Philomena I'd not recommend my evil line on parenting,as I say get dressed last and if they're not dressed go into school in pjs(and I would follow thru with that.dd2 clearly remembers going to school with birds nest hair aged 6 after refusing let me brush it and I refused make everyone late over it...)

DS extra clingy.says asked come home but they had him stick it out 9-12.im exhausted with his constant need to be with me/know what I'm doing.feeling bit down and fed up today

Morning all!!
Another bad night with D's,up til gone 1130,he came and woke me at 1145(I go tosleep and leave him to colour/watch documentary/audiobook in bed)
End up sleep on sofa, him on other one he hates how dark front room is and insists TV stats on low(which keeps me awake/wakes me in dozing) I feel tired before even start and grumpy!
Do has taken him in as he's deffo more agitated has say goodbye and walk away from me there
Lil zoo has hospital app with her tummy this afternoon and managing him in children's outpatients may be challenging as tends be bright and noisy

Best hoik up big girl pants and get some chores done
Hope everyone is ok
Philomena hope this morning was a bit easier than yesterdayFlowers

Morning! I tell DS2 he'll go to school in his pyjamas every morning zoo! 😂 We had a repeat performance yesterday evening as we had parents' evening. He was throwing his shoes, I told him he could go in his socks! 😂 Apparently, he was like it all day at school as well. His teacher doesn't get paid enough for that shit.

He was good as gold this morning. 😊

zoo DD has sensory issues with all 5 senses. She used to tolerate fireworks by standing with her back to them. She was 2, and I'm afraid I didn't believe her. Blush

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHH · 20/11/2018 10:43

Hi all, I'm new to this thread. My S is 9, he has ADHD (just the hyperactive/impulsive element) and Tourette's. He's always been an anxious boy, but this has manifested in panic type attacks over the last year I would say. It started with a fear over his sister being car sick, then it progressed to him not being able to get in the car, then it escalated to him thinking he was going to be sick (all the time) even though he hasn't actually vomited since he was 2!! Now every night he wakes in the middle of the night, I think he just needs a wee but he's scared to go for a wee, works himself up, says he's got a tummy ache, then he's going to be sick and a lot of running around and screaming etc ensues. He gets these tummy aches basically whenever you ask him to do something he doesn't want to do, like have a shower and it will escalate into a mad angry tantrum for hours. It's so hard to know what to do for him, it's so draining for all involved!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/11/2018 15:26

Welcome aaaarrrgggh
That must be very draining

Philomena glad easier start.some days are better than others +-keeps telling self this--

Zoo apologies if you’ve already tried this or I’m overstepping but what about a fit bit or home heart rate monitor so you can show him it’s not racing or, if it is, that it slows down after some calm time? You must be absolutely exhausted

It’s camhs day here which normally means a flash of some sort

NastyCats · 21/11/2018 09:23

Hello again everyone, I dropped out of this thread as DD seemed to be doing fairly OK compared to the stuff the rest of you were going through. I have just emailed the school though as she is back being desperate about not waiting to go to school, saying she doesn't feel safe there, she can't cope, pleading with us not to make her go, that we are making her go somewhere unsafe, etc. It turns out her new BF at school has a completely different personality to her and is getting frustrated with introverted DD. Moreover, she is good friends - by same horrendous coincidence - with the previous BF at primary school who turned on DD, bullied her and lead to us removing her from school. The new BF says that this girl is really lovely and she can't believe that she would be unkind to DD. Plus, throw in a load of criticism and other unpleasant behaviour and we have a recipe for disaster.

DD is confused and unhappy and just can't believe this has all come back to bite her. I feel like some completely over-protective idiot of a parent having just sent what feels like a tale-telling email to the HoY but I just don't know what else to have done. I need to protect my DD before worrying about looking like a pathetic individual in front of the school but I feel very lacking in confidence about how I have handled it. DD is seeing the school counsellor today and is going to see what she says. I have suggested speaking to tutor or HoY but she, probably rightly, points out this would be taken as a petty friendship issue that has blown out proportion, that the new BF (who isn't really a friend at all) would tell everyone else DD has been horrible to her, etc. It all feels simultaneously pathetic but insurmountable but meanwhile we're watching her screaming and crying and being so unhappy.

PhilomenaButterfly · 21/11/2018 13:50

This morning, just before we left for school, he pushed DD, I told him off, he growled and pushed me. I can't make him sleep longer.

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/11/2018 14:19

Philomena sometimes it feels like everyday is "one of those days!"
DS had bad time of it at school today.freaked out at break then again 20 mins before his 12 o'clock hometime he had the racing heart that he screams and falls to floor cry help with me in middle of night...they took him to the library for a bit then up to main reception rather than student services to leave as that's much quieter
Have meet on Friday
