Not actually a tantrum today, just pissing about. He knows he'll go to school with pyjama trousers on if we run out of time though. Apparently, primary teachers are used to it!

Stilllivinginazoo · 12/11/2018 12:42

Philomena I once took dd2 to school with hair like been pulled thru hedge backwards as refuse let me brush it(was 5at the time) and I felt be on time was far more useful than late with tears all round...she never did it again.somwtimes you just have to follow thru with that threat for long-term results!!glad went ok
DS was all but hyperventilating we ventured tho was a car not walk job.he was dropped of panting and check pulse and j went CBT had very useful hat about managing to meet needs everyone in the house, incl myself, and D's managed his full 2hours!!he's exhausted now so he's going to watch fantastic beasts dvd after lunch and I'm going to luxuriate in some time out in my roomGrin

The usual tantrum when DD asked for her tablet back. I think he's tired. He was on the tablet when I went in to get my glasses and shoes on at 5.55.

vikingwoman · 13/11/2018 16:51

Hi Zoo was okay I guess. There were six representatives from the school, DS1's psychiatrist, and me. They were discussing options to get him back into school (different school, half day, one credit at a time, classroom/treatment setup ??, etc) . Bit of a whirlwind, but hope to get clearer understanding of possibilities when the case manager emails me.
Mom fail of the day: Principal said he would call DS1 'just to have a chat' later in afternoon. This kind of stressed me out because I knew it would stress out DS1. As day wore on, I felt increasingly stressed so I decided not to tell DS1 Blush. When principal did finally call, did not pick up phone. Blush.
Honestly, was mentally/emotionally exhausted and played a little avoidance tactic. Bad I know.

How is your sweet DS coming along, Zoo

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/11/2018 17:03

Viking in your shoes I'd have done the same as "a chat" could come across as quite intimidating for him.and that's a knock on effect thru the whole house more than already us
Sending hugs Flowers

DS is still struggling.doing 9-1130 at school(11-1130 is break anyways so sits with his keyworker and chats as it's about time spent there)
He's not doing any work from his year group curriculum, just little info files on insects etc

At night he's a monkey.ringing dad at work if I'm refusing to reassure
Last night dad was here so cajole lil zoo to sit in his room watch a film.i was furious she was still up at 11 when I went to bed so that needs work....

I see CBT and thus week's task us setting out a family meeting with house rules that if I go into my room it's only permitted come in if there blood, broken bones or fire as I'm getting very exhausted by constant demands without respite and that everyone's entitled to a 30min period with mum individually everyday so the girls feel less neglected
I'm planning to hold meet tom(once dp back at work)

Zoo - oh you poor dear. Yes, house rule sounds like a good idea. Let us know how it goes tomorrow. Enforcing rules in the first few days is tough, but DC's will get used to it....even your DS, I believe. I have so much sympathy for his struggles but mum's MH is as much a priority too and hopefully he will understand. Flowers and Brew to you xx .

Wolfcub · 14/11/2018 09:01

Well we have started the day with a massive meltdown, again caused by natural consequences, crying, swearing, screaming and kicking and punching inanimate objects. If he doesn’t get sent home from school by lunchtime it will be a miracle

Lovely morning this morning, Flowers for everyone who isn't having it so easy.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/11/2018 11:33

How are things at yours today Philomena?
DS has to do bit longer today as dd2 has orthodontic app,so instead 9-1130,it's 945-1230.he didn't cope well last night knowing be different.also main keyworker finishes at 1130 so he has other one (who is equally nice but isn't so used his little foibles).main worker rang me at 1030 he forgot his drawing folder(designing his own freestyle insects and their planets/habitats) and wanted come home as highly stressed.she asked could pop his folder in before she leaves.i was mid muffin baking at the time.dropped off his folder with a note and his favourite banana muffins for himself and both keyworkers.now on way to orthodontist with dd2!!

Absolutely no problems this morning thanks zoo. 😊

I foresee a hellish Friday night/Saturday morning, as we're going to a ladies' night, kids welcome, at a friend's house. This could go on very late.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/11/2018 16:02

Good luck with that Philomena

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/11/2018 12:48

Philomena😞
Well he went in ok,after bit of a wobble.deffo handles leaving dad better than me
I decided he needs be a little independant so I refused pick up from student reception today,he had to come to me outside main gate in freezing cold proving a point he scuttled along looking terrified but he did itStar
Tbh I hate waiting in student services for him.surly teens being chivvied back to lessons, odd I'll child wait be collected, kids who just been thrown out class wait heads of year to discipline
Anyhoo he's curled up on sofa watching documentary now,so I might sneak in a nap!!

OP posts:
PhilomenaButterfly · 16/11/2018 12:54

Star for your DS! Yes go for a nap. He'll be fine in front of a documentary, and he'll wake you if he needs you. Flowers
