Cybergarden Open Day

Hi all.

We realised there were people on the MH threads asking what on earth the cybergarden was, and could they "join".

The short answer is, Yes, come in and have a Brew!

The cybergarden was started as a support thread for one person, and a bit of an escape from grim reality for those of us housebound one way or another. We just wanted somewhere peaceful and pleasant to relax and enjoy things we couldn't always do in real life.

It's generally a pretty positive place, although everyone needs a moan now and then. And we do lots of small, personal visualisations when the spirit moves us. It can get a bit whimsical, so if imaginary stuff makes your teeth itch we're probably not for you!

But if a large garden with companion animals and a sandpit for the children suits your needs, do come in and have a cuppa. The kettle's almost always on.

Glad SW is being helpful.

Could you write down now the text you will send with the SW's number? That way you don't have to think about content when the moment arrives. (You also won't have to think about the content of Uncle's text - you're going to send the same reply anyway.)

it's the one perk of being up early (550 today)

Nilgiri · 11/06/2012 09:34

Shock 550 today? But you don't look a day over 400! Grin Many happy returns!

futuredream · 11/06/2012 10:07

< rinses optimistically >

< plasters coffee grounds on sleepy skin >

Glad today feels less overwhelming , greentreespurpleflowers , and hope we all have many positives in our week

< HF stretches , yawns and settles down to brief nap after early start , which we humans might find useful as restart to worst days >

MrsMuddyPuddles · 11/06/2012 12:49

No real plans beyond GP trip again at 4pm + inevitable visit to pharmacy.... but was hoping to get the perennials into the ground before going away and maybe start in on the packing. Or tackle the mountain of dishes.

I have a different antidepressant to try (no more Lofepramine, but Seroxat in it's place... Hmm better make it a small bit of choc!)

If I knew why they push buttons, I wouldn't be here :o

Oh it's like the rest of MN - a place to hang out with imaginary friends!

It was just a bit of fun to actually visualise a lovely place we'd rather be, better weather than we're actually having, and generally enjoy comforts and distractions not always accessible in real life. I'm sure it will transform and grow as people make it their own - and of course everyone's garden looks how they see it.

Talking of which, did someone say Dairy Milk? Grin

Hope the change in ADs goes OK, MrsMuddyPuddles. Sure you know that some of the drugs take a short while to bed in, and to go back to the doctor if you get adjustment side-effects which are too distressing.

greentrees hope boob monster now out for the count!

Am going that way myself. Sleep well all!

futuredream · 12/06/2012 16:37

Hi Hobs - good to meet you & hope you will find this a peaceful sanctuary .

Sorry couldn't speak up yesterday , been sorting out letters & forms for doctors , dla etc . Was keepingfingers crossed for your GP appt, MrsMuddyPuddles - sorry you've had such a terrible times with reactions to medication .
Hope your holiday refreshes you , even if the travelling proves stressfulf

Love the twinkly fairylights, greentreespurpleflowers ( a& the mmozzies in cybergarden don't bite)

( btw Hobs, please don't be insulted if I mention that your name is very similar to oft-used abbreviation of nickname of another poster in mh , which might cause some confusion ... but maybe not )
Have you found the pile of soft rugs and cushions to curl up on on hectic days
< gratefully dips into Hobs' choccy[biscuits} >

You are so right Nilgiri about everyone seeing the garden differently in mind's eye... I never think of that now though as it becomes such a shared experince < peers curiously into fellow gardeners' brains >
