Cybergarden Open Day

Hi all.

We realised there were people on the MH threads asking what on earth the cybergarden was, and could they "join".

The short answer is, Yes, come in and have a Brew!

The cybergarden was started as a support thread for one person, and a bit of an escape from grim reality for those of us housebound one way or another. We just wanted somewhere peaceful and pleasant to relax and enjoy things we couldn't always do in real life.

It's generally a pretty positive place, although everyone needs a moan now and then. And we do lots of small, personal visualisations when the spirit moves us. It can get a bit whimsical, so if imaginary stuff makes your teeth itch we're probably not for you!

But if a large garden with companion animals and a sandpit for the children suits your needs, do come in and have a cuppa. The kettle's almost always on.

Hi NN - glad you are having more good days than bad Smile. Im trying to stave of a blip at the moment (at least I hope its a blip) but it comes after a good stretch

futuredream · 07/06/2012 19:45

Evening all, thanks for all the different types of Brew, Upward , & hope today has been slighty better .

NanaNina and kizzie - have been tryng to shamefacedly PM you all afternoon but PC has been "frozen" for hours due to stupid Skype updates ... thank you for very lovely reply , NN , and hope you find ratio of bad to good days improves . Upredicatbility hellish indeedSad

Really hope you can indeed stave off blip , kizzie - your suggestion of trying to improve a troublesome situation by 10% has really helped me , thank you .
Back from terrifying appt and need to get relative a birthday pressie
Staggering gales here < trepidatious >

NanaNina · 07/06/2012 21:03

Thanks Futuredreams. Please don't feel pressured.

Oh Kizzie - when the D word comes back after a long stretch of being ok it is really upsetting. I improved slowly but surely all through last year, scoring myself every quarter, so 66% good, then 70%, then 85% then 90% and or first 3 months of this year 100% and I honestly though "The blips have really gone".........but April and May have not been that good - still around 70% good but so so disappointing as I thought the blips had finally blown. How long have you been ok for and how is this blip manifesting itself. June doesn't seem brill either, bad day yesterday and today sort of half and half but it has been raining non stop.
NNx

Hope you've had a better day, Spongeroberta, and yes, this is really the same old thread, not designed to be temporary as far as I know, but like futuredream, I don't feel able to do much posting these days and am happy to have more people involved in the cybergarden.

RabbitsMakeBrownEggs · 07/06/2012 23:56

Oooh hot chocolate with baileys, now I won't rest until I have a real one. This cyber on is making my tastebuds tingle.

I would rescue little furries too if I could, I have two rabbits and two guinea pigs right now, and that's all I can afford. May have tiny baby guinea too (previous owner, not me). Not going to be as exciting as the "I found a pregnant cat in my garden" posts, but I might be a Mummy Pig. I'm watching suspect and mentally measuring tummy girth every morning. Have ascertained that the other "girl" has a rather prominent penis, so one must imagine that they've done the deed at some point in three months, especially as they both hit puberty a little while back.

Looking forwards to the end of half term. Everything is so busy, my mind hates busy, hates the difference in routine too. I look forward to peace and quiet, and being able to go to the town centre and not be overrun with millions of people.

Good night.

Hi Spongeroberta , thank you for deliciousBrew and am very partial to peace and love

Argh , thank you NanaNina -really sorrybut neither browser will allow me to send PMs at all today , linked to the freezing problem ... last time , had to do an uninstall to fix it

< lies back to soothing warm water >

kizzie · 08/06/2012 12:17

futuredream im so glad my 10% thing helped you. Im trying to employ it myself at the moment so fingers crossed

futuredream · 08/06/2012 13:46

Thank you lovely kizzie - think it works so well as it's not babysteps which you might retrace when you've slipped up - 10% , or another 5 or 10% on top , is smething to aireally try to maintain .
Hugs and best wishes on current tough patch , and apologies still no PM - from me at any rate about namechange- due to pc probs .

So sorry RabbitsMake Brown Eggs, I was slow posting & crossped with you . Really enjoyed your post , though disturbed at the furries having a sex life < demands guinea piglet /s >

Am with you on being constantly busy being hard on the mh - I can't function anymore without lots of peace and quiet ( not so impossible for me ,as no dc )

< wills half term to end enjoyably and quickly for tired parents >
< looks out at gales >Brews

Didn't get time to do all the PM's I planned, just Kizzie, who was here in the beginning (I think), and probably needs the old nicknames for continuity. Apologies for abrupt ending, but anyone who's had hot flushes will understand the difficulty I have communicating these days.
Quick sympathy note to RabbitsEggs - I live in a tourist area too, am relieved when most of them go home and can even start feeling sociable again. Good for you for rescuing rabbits and gps, and don't worry about the larger animals here, beagles are generally friendly to any species and our Senior Cat, Her Felinity , recently completed a course in Peace Studies and wouldn't dream of eating a friend, or allowing anyone else to behave in similar fashion.

kizzie · 09/06/2012 13:06

Thank you showtime. A very good friend brought me some lovely flowers yesterday so im pasing them all on to you Thanks

Showtime · 09/06/2012 15:54

Wow, thanks so much kizzie - I'd just realised that as Nilgiri sorted the thread continuation, I'd been leaving the nicknames for her to post too, which is hardly fair as none of us original gardeners are A1 fit and bursting with excess energy, although luckily, a couple of them manage to do a good impression from time to time.
Flowers look lovely on coffee-table in summerhouse, and as there are no daffodils included, beagle won't be tempted to eat a few petals now and then.

Heh heh, with that name you're part of the garden just be standing there, greentreespurple flowers! Have a Brew.

I'm a bit rubbish with plants myself. I let the Showtime the fairies do the difficult bits.

The lack of PMs is down to me , Showtime- am ten times busier than normal & haven't managed to reinstall , so PMs just won't send . So sorry to you , NN, Kizzie , and Nilgiri

Hope you feel clearer today , Songeroberta -have you spoken with your coordinator about breaking the patterns you obviously have good insight into ? Also recommend reading the Realationships board , if you don't already -sensible , zero-toleance posters helped me make sense of huge dilemmas in all types of relationships ( I would not post there though whilst feeling as you have been vlvery robusts post there, though - LP seems a lovely board for coparenting dilemmas )

argh , sorry for huge typos < back to nestbox >

Showtime · 09/06/2012 17:42

Don't worry about not gardening, greentrees, we actually do very little apart from good system of exchanging plants etc. and having a moan about the ones that don't survive. Congratulations to kizzie for an excellent rescue job last year though, and hope you're still enjoying flowers this year. (Was that a rhododendron or a rose? Nuisance losing one's memory, but people here are very tolerant and we were all cheering on that poorly plant).)

Can't manage alcohol these days, but will join you in a token half-glass of the low-alcohol stuff, and agree it's wisest to keep off any booze while unhappy or ill.
Have you seen news of Black Dog Tribe, with Ruby Wax?
Don't worry, amiable beagle will stand in gateway and prevent black dog entering, it's safe in here. Cheers!

futuredream · 09/06/2012 22:09

< happily slurps soberWine > Thank you ,*greentreespurpleflowers- same here with alcohol seeming unwise - I was also surprised to realise that even a couple of drinks a week had terrible effect on depression & anxiety

I tried to get a glimpse of your horrible creatures locked firmly outside cybergarden , but they are not easy to outwit Sad Hope peaceful meditative place will allow you some breakthroughs .
