Dear XXX,

My name is mosp. My NI number for your reference is XXX.

I am hoping you will be able to help me. I have been living with debilitating PTSD since August 2010. It has been two years since I went to my GP with PTSD symptoms. A series of issues resulted in CBT being cancelled, and I have been reassigned for trauma therapy for which my GP has to applied for special funding, but progress in obtaining this has been slow, with little feedback on where I am in the system.

As a single parent to two young children, my feelings of detachment, persistent anxiety and of a foreshortened future are harming my ability to cope with the simplest of daily tasks.

I feel I have been waiting far longer than I should, and I am coping very badly. I desperately need the experience of someone who is specialised in treating PTSD, but funding issues are delaying this necessary therapy.

Are you able to assist me to speed up the process?

Thank you for your time,

Mosp

Does that look alright?

Yes that looks good Smile
Did you manage to get everything else down you were planning ?

mosp · 02/06/2012 17:56

Well, when I find out the name of the funding provider and also the date my gp first applied, I'll put that in too. Other than that, it is all I wanted to say.

MrsSnaplegs · 02/06/2012 18:05

It's enough they don't need finer details - that's between you and your health care provider Grin

mosp · 02/06/2012 18:08

Just now wondering whether to call the surgery and try to get the extra info on Tuesday. I hate making that kind of phonecall though. Alternative is to wait a fortnight as I am seeing my gp then anyway.

MrsSnaplegs · 02/06/2012 19:47

Mosp yes call them but Wednesday may be better as they may still be closed Tuesday as its another BH

NotGeoffVader · 02/06/2012 23:05

Sorry wasn't able to get back on here as planned. The evening was going so well... friend got here okay, we had a nice chat over a cup of tea. Bit later DH came in so I started getting dinner ready whilst he put DD to bed.
We had just sat down to eat when we heard crying from the other room. DD then woke right up, had a screaming/crying/hysterical sobbing fit and puked up everywhere. She's now calmed down but won't go to sleep. And she's only had 20 mins sleep during the day today after getting up at 9am (was up from 12.30-3-30am today). :(

I want to go to bed!!

mosp · 02/06/2012 23:09

Ah Geoff, that's rubbish :(
What's going on now? Is dd asleep?

OP posts:
NotGeoffVader · 02/06/2012 23:32

Yes! She is asleep but in her playpen/travel cot. DH is asleep on the sofa.

I think I'll see how fast asleep she is and see if it's worth moving her or just leave her where she is. She can't climb out and is perfectly safe and warm.

Going to close down the kitchen now... the rest of the washing up can wait!

I'll be back here tomorrow if I'm needed. x

MrsSnaplegs · 03/06/2012 08:11

Geoff - hope you got some sleep Smile

NotGeoffVader · 03/06/2012 09:54

Thanks, MrsSnap yes we did get some sleep.

Got to bed about twenty minutes after that last update. Put all the lights out, laid down, pulled the covers up and heard crying from the other room. DD standing up in playpen!

Brought her into bedroom and settled her in her cot, where she stayed asleep until 7.30 this morning, with just one minor grizzle when her dummy strayed.

She's really tired today, as am I!

Off to have a shower now; have left her with Cbeebies, yawning.

Hope you all enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations. I have a full house of little girls. Just made them do a mammoth tidy up!
Yesterday we had a very wet street party.
Mole - are you ok? Not seen you for a while.

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 05/06/2012 21:34

Very wet party here today Sad however kids and rest of street had a great time
Unfortunately I had forgotten my DD godparents were visiting so double booked myself - felt split between the 2 Blush

NotGeoffVader · 06/06/2012 10:06

We didn't do any jubilee-ing...though when we were out for a walk we did discover a 'street party' a few streets away. Basically about five people sat under a large garden parasol, having a BBQ in the rain, with some soggy bunting strewn around!

As DH had a rare day off we went shopping to get me some PJ's, a skirt, new T-shirts, and DD a sunhat and some new shoes as she's grown out of all her hats and all but one pair of shoes.

Came back with shoes, wellies and hat for DD, one T-shirt, and one skirt. I can't find any clothes I like >wails

MrsSnaplegs · 07/06/2012 21:11

I am currently stuck in Devon visiting my mother with the kids
It is my idea of hell on earth
I hate it hate it hate it
And breathe ........

mosp · 08/06/2012 10:12

What is so bad about Devon?? How are you stuck there? Hope you manage to escape soon!

OP posts:
NotGeoffVader · 08/06/2012 10:50

Oh dear.... I have only been to Devon a few times, but it was a pleasurable experience.
Unlike this morning which entailed scrubbing cat piss out of the carpet, then I moved the curtain to find dried cat piss on that too. :(

Not even dressed yet as post cat-gate I had to deal with an explosive poo nappy.

Aaarrrrgggghhh!!!!

mosp · 08/06/2012 15:02

Sorry Geoff, but I'm having a laugh at your expense :)

So far, my day has been piss, poo and Devon-free.

However, chaos awaits as my girls are dressing up for a party soon, and I have bought them brightly coured hair spray!

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 08/06/2012 16:21

Devon is lovely but wet
Stuck with my mother is the bad part Sad
Stuck because on a fixed timescale visit although may try to escape tomorrow night instead of Sunday Wink

NotGeoffVader · 08/06/2012 16:38

Aw, Mrs Snap, sorry to hear it's a trying time. Hope you can find something fun (and non-stressful) to do as a family. I'm going to go all dismal and say I wish I still had my mum to get irritated with. :(

Mosp, I am glad my tale of woe made you laugh - the sight of me on all fours in the corner of the room, dressing gown slowly coming off as I scrubbed at the carpet truly would have scared the bravest of folks!

What colour are you spraying your girls' hair?

The rest of my day entails scanning in old photos, finishing off a design for my Dad's memorial 'do', and changing the bedcovers...oh, and making pizza. :)

MrsSnaplegs · 08/06/2012 17:38

Geoff - you are welcome to mine Grin
I will post later when I am on my own and you can see some of her foibles Wink

NotGeoffVader · 08/06/2012 19:39

I shall look forward to it! Off to finish making the pizza. working on direction maps but too late now as it's DD's bedtime and the PC is in the bedroom, so have to log off so she can doze off!

mosp · 08/06/2012 20:15

Snap - you are going to post your mum????

I just got woken from a much needed nap by two girls returning from the party. Their hair is yellow and red (one each), and I also straightened it.

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 08/06/2012 21:28

Mosp no couldn't post her as not enough stampsGrin
I am visiting her with the kids before we move but she is very hard work
Even though she has her own flat that we have always stayed at before she has for some reason booked a holiday flat for me and the kids - in half term in a coastal town in Devon - expensive waste of money or what!! It does mean I get a break from her at night though which is some bonus
So far she has had the following conversations with my 6 yo DD
Talking about all the people who have been run over and killed on a certain bit of road
Exactly how Cliff Richard would have had plastic surgery - the full details of knives and cutting open faces
The "brother and sister" that went on holiday to Spain and the little girl was taken away and never seen again - when we're moving to Gibraltar
Promising my DD a rabbit for her 10th birthday - "if I'm still alive because I may be dead like x's granny" x being my DD friends gran who died a couple of weeks ago SadSadSad
It's all quite hard as I have felt for a long time she is "toxic" and I want to go no contact but maintain the relationship for my DD who adores her but it is getting to the point I can't cope anymore
I need to talk to my brother really and see what he says
