I want to cancel my skype and also facebook. I have googled. Sorry, I can't work out how to do it. I need to get rid of them both. Please, can anyone guide me what to do?

Just looking over the website again. I just feel so hopeless that anyone will ever be able to help.

Ok - not sure why your referral is taking so long, it's been months yes?
Do you want me to write a letter to the Chief Executive for you? Happy to do so if you want the extra help - will write it "from you" but with a note that actually you weren't well enough to write it.
The other organisation to tap into is PALS they are about patient care and treatment
Let me know what you feel up to Smile

NotGeoffVader · 31/05/2012 21:56

Is that because the help you've had so far hasn't been that great? It is so wrong that you are having to push and push to get the support and treatment you need.

My sister is currently waiting for a GP appt to discuss how to deal with depression/grief. She has to wait three weeks to even talk about it. So stupid that the system we have in place has such a long waiting time.

mosp · 31/05/2012 21:58

I really don't know what to do. GP is chasing repeatedly. It's not the centre that's causing the delay - it's the funding decision makers, and I have no idea who they are.
I do like your suggestion, but not sure if I should override what the GP is doing already.

I think what you really need is an advocate - someone to speak on your behalf to fight alongside your GP. Let me have a think and see what I can come up with. I'm not local to you otherwise I would offer but I will think of something Smile

MrsSnaplegs · 31/05/2012 22:03

This shouldn't be a funding issue Sad

NotGeoffVader · 31/05/2012 22:07

Mrs Snap - you sound like you really have the bull by the horns - if there is a way to advocate for Mosp then it sounds like the way forward.

I wish I could do more to help but am happy to be here to chat/listen etc. x

mosp · 31/05/2012 22:10

I don't deserve either of you :(

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 31/05/2012 22:11

found this
They have an advocacy section with a couple of links - one of which is PALS
Would you consider contacting one of them?

NotGeoffVader · 31/05/2012 22:13

Pah! I am sorry that the private messaging is playing up - although I am wondering if I hit 'cancel' instead of send. Just tried again, Mosp.

mosp · 31/05/2012 22:18

What would I say? I don't feel like I can get my head round it.

Sorry lovely ladies, I am going to have to cut and run for the evening. Have a pig of a headache and staring at the small screen on my laptop isn't helping. I realise that is nothing in comparison to most things, but it has been a hellishly long day.

Mosp, feel free to pile up the PM's to me - will be checking regularly tomorrow, between bouts of cooking, cleaning and babysitting.

MrsSnaplegs · 31/05/2012 22:24

I think PALS is first option as they are the most powerful
Just write down some dates of when you were referred etc and take it from there - you don't need to tell them any "details" but just press home with the fact you are having a really difficult time and although your GP is supportive the delay in being seen is damaging you further.
You do not have to say exactly what it is about but give a general idea of some of the things you have told us about dying - they will then pick up on the seriousness hopefully
Write it all down - everything you might want to say, like a set of crib notes for an exam - so if they ask this - I will say thisSmile

mosp · 31/05/2012 22:28

goodnight geoff.

snap - do you mean that i should call them? i'm confused. who are they? do they decide the funding then? sorry to be so ignorant. brain is mush.

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 31/05/2012 22:36

PALS is patient advisory liaison service - they are supposed to act on your behalf and provide assistance in resolving local issues
They will have a local unit who can act on your behalf
You don't need to go into real specifics about your history just some of it - previous traumatic experience and seeing X, Y and Z referred by GP - funding issues GP is having problems resolving, need help ASAP
I'm guessing you've pm'd "Geoff" - we could work on a script for you to talk through with them or help draft an email to them.

mosp · 31/05/2012 22:39

I've not pmed her about that. Maybe I could write them an email. What is the address? That site is too long to find anything.

OP posts:
mosp · 31/05/2012 22:42

ah, ok. just found it.
should i run it by GP first? I feel bad going behind his back.

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 31/05/2012 22:47

[email protected] email for local one
May be worth copying in your GP as well out of courtesy and if you note in your email how much you know your GP is trying to help then they should have no issues - may appreciate PALS taking on the funding fight

mosp · 31/05/2012 22:52

I'll try to gather myself together this weekend and write a draft. Thank you snap.

Morning mosp and geoff

How are things this morning, are you ok with the sources of help we found last night?

I will be on and off through the day as I am officially at work but not really got a lot to do at the moment Grin

Tell me how you want to play this mosp - I can be quite forthright and direct and give you a list of things to be doing if that helps or I can just be here to bounce things off (not literally obviously) - let me know and I am sure geoff and I can help

Smile
NotGeoffVader · 01/06/2012 09:52

Morning ladies.

Yes, happy to help with writing a 'script' if it will be useful. I too, am on and off here today - DH is working, and when he gets back will want the PC. I shall be clearing, cleaning, tidying etc. And cooking, so that it's not manic tomorrow.

So glad I don't have any more assignments to write :)

MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 10:43

Morning geoff

Sounds like a productive day for you todayGrin

I'm stuck here until 12 as the boss wants to see everyone before the long weekend Hmm I'm sure i could be more productive at home Wink
