I want to cancel my skype and also facebook. I have googled. Sorry, I can't work out how to do it. I need to get rid of them both. Please, can anyone guide me what to do?

Morning! I'm at home today. Should be working (private piano teaching) but I have a bad cold so they didn't want me. Been doing the never ending housework interjected with piano playing, although my lovebird keeps sitting on the keys and getting p*ed off that they keep moving!

Might make a start on a possible email later.

Thanks for sticking around. You know you don't have to?

mosp I am being forced to stay at work even though I am officially supposed to be on gardening leave whilst between jobs. I am covering someone elses work for a couple of weeks but there is no need for me to be here today. The boss wants to see everyone at 1200 to tell us we can all finish early today - however if I didn't have to stay for that I wouldn't be here - it's a bit ironic really!
One of my regrets about moving overseas is we have to put the piano into storage for 2 years just as my DD has started to take an interest.
I spent years as a kid being forced to have lessons and could never master it properly -since finding out I probably couldn't read the music properly because of my Irlen-Meyers I can now see why I hated it so much ( the being forced to do it) My DD is keen to learn and we have started on some of the basics but I don't want to pressure her the same way I was so it was nice just having a piano in the house that she could use when she wants.
I think I may need to look at getting an electric one for overseas but will wait until we get there.

Suggested format for the email:

Personal Details - name and contact details plus your NHS number if you know it but don't worry if you don't

Short summary of issue : Diagnosis , current treatment, proposed referral,

Separate paragraph reference funding issues and the additional stress this is creating, add in about having children and some of the feelings you have expressed on here.

Paragraph on what you want to happen: Support/ Advocacy to help you get access to the treatment your GP/Specialist says you need

Final line of thanks in advance for your support

Copy it to your GP - there should be an email on their website or phone the receptionist and ask for a confidential email address at the practice because you want to copy your Dr in on an email you are sending to PALS.

NotGeoffVader · 01/06/2012 13:15

That format sounds really good, Mrs Snap

Just checking in to see how things are going. DD and I have had lunch - was meant to be a nice mixed salad of tomato, cucumber, avocado, mango and beetroot crackers with a little cubed cheese....but she only ate the cheese so I had to go and find something else for her.
Now she is looking very tired/bleary eyed and I'm hoping she'll doze off.

I've managed to clean the furniture polish off the kitchen window and get rid of the mould around the sink but to be honest, I could do with a nap too.

DH should be back from work in another 2 hours (or less) so perhaps I'll see if I can nap whilst DD does. Then I can prepare some stuff for tomorrow's supper.

mosp · 01/06/2012 13:31

Geoff, that lunch sounds yummy (apart from the avocado I'm afraid). I haven't even realised it was lunchtime. Suppose I'd better eat something myself.

Snap, that format will be really useful. Takes away all the need to think it out myself. I'm so grateful to you.

I'm supposed to be cleaning today, but keep getting distracted by either the computer or the piano.

OP posts:
NotGeoffVader · 01/06/2012 15:14

Ah, I'd say that the piano was a good distraction!

The lunch was quite tasty, but not very filling. It was a sort of test-run for tomorrow. Tell me what you think of my menu:

Starter - a salad of cucumber, avocado, strawberries and salad leaves with toasted pine nuts

Main - mixed mushroom tartin with warm potato salad and green vegetable medley

Dessert - chocolate mousse cake with ginger-poached pears

Hopefully all washed down with the red wine my mate will be bringing over. :)

Tonight I am possibly making some asparagus mini-pizzas but only been up from the nap about 15 mins, and not sure how much longer bubba will stay snoozing.

Don't forget to send off that email, Mosp - then come back and tell us that you did so we can have a virtual (and un-mumsnetty) hug!

MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 16:20

geoff that lunch sounds lovely Smile.

mosp · 01/06/2012 20:39

That really does sound nice (except the avocado!).

I'm just about to embark on the email now.

Good - been offline for a whole a got door stepped by a neighbour who needed to download Wink

mosp · 01/06/2012 21:19

snap, what on earth did that post mean?? i keep looking and looking, but can't work it out...

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 21:20

Sorry Grin I got door stepped by a neighbour - as in she appeared at the house with babe in arms wanting to download her problems Wink

MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 21:22

Our back door is always open and people just tend to walk in Wink
We have a real community neighbourhood here which is great but every now and then I wish we shut the doorWink
Plans for the evening screwed as she didn't leave until half 7

NotGeoffVader · 01/06/2012 21:33

Aargh! That would drive me mad. My neighbours are mainly tolerable but I know if I had an 'open door' policy I would never get rid of the old gimmers next door. They would be here all the time banging on about trivial crap like 'her two doors down put her rubbish out on Monday night, and you're not meant to put it out until 7.30 on Tuesday morning'

MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 21:35

Ah you see we are all of a similar age, all similar jobs (military housing) and all move every 2 years Grin so you make friends fast while you can Wink

mosp · 01/06/2012 21:43

snap, by brother used to live in that kind of housing when he was in the RAF. noone ever locked their doors, but it was kind of safe because only residents and approved people could get in to the housing area anyway.

I have tried to write the email. I just can't do it. I don't know the name of the funding provider, nor when my GP applied. I just can't seem to get it done. Brain is mush.

OP posts:
NotGeoffVader · 01/06/2012 21:46

I would like that kind of cameraderie, but several of my neighbours are, frankly, barking mad! :)

MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 21:55

Mosp just put down the bits you do know and put XXX in the gaps for now and we can work on it from there
And no I am not expecting you to post it on here but we can chat about areas you aren't happy with or you can send it to me "anonymised" and I can have a look if you want Smile

MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 21:55

geoff so are mine Grin

mosp · 01/06/2012 22:26

Dear XXX,

My name is mosp. My NI number for your reference is XXX.

I am hoping you will be able to help me. I have been living with debilitating PTSD since August 2010. My GP (Dr X) referred me for special funding in X month/year, so that I can receive trauma therapy. Despite regular chasing, the funding providers have not responded.

I feel I have been waiting far longer than I should, and I am not coping well. I am desperate for the therapy to start so I can begin the road to recovery. I have two young children to care for as a single mother, and for all of our sakes I need to get the proper help for my condition.

Are you able to assist me to speed up the process?

Thank you for your time,

Mosp

If you're still up, does that look ok?

OP posts:
MrsSnaplegs · 01/06/2012 22:40

Still up but I think your last big paragraph needs a bit more "weight" to it - give me until tomorrow and I will pm you something to add Wink

NotGeoffVader · 02/06/2012 09:45

Mosp, I am around today in the same 'quantity' as I was yesterday.

Not saying that I want to wade in and go all heavy on this but if you want to PM me what you have written so far, I can see if I can help out with the wording too? Mrs Snap - is that Ok with you as I can see that you were going to PM something?

Between us we'll get there!

Am here early as DD woke up at 12.30am and then had what I can only describe as the 'screaming abdabs' until 3.30am. (Do under 2's get "night terrors"?).

Shall have to go and get DD up in a minute as I am hungry, and I need to hoover through, just in case although I am now not sure if my friend is coming today as I got a text from him yesterday saying he had done his back in. If he doesn't come, I shall have to eat loads of food!

mosp · 02/06/2012 10:47

Hi, I've only written what I posted here. Any ideas for plumping out the last paragraph?
I'm going out in a bit, hoping that there is still some bunting left in the shops...Also got to make stuff for street party tomorrow.

I'm seeing my regular gp in two weeks, so I could get the email prepared and show him (and fill in the missing details) then.
right, off to the shower. i'm just got getting going today...
geoff - i hope friend does show up, or you will get tummy ache!

OP posts:
NotGeoffVader · 02/06/2012 11:13

Thankfully I just got a text saying he is still coming. So now I have to do a mad blitz of all the housework I didn't do yesterday!

With regard to your last paragraph, I'll pm you some ideas of what to put in.

Off to have a shower myself in a minute and scrub the (hard to reach) tiles that I have asked DH to clean three times... Angry
