Here's a new thread for us.

OP posts:
shodatin · 27/03/2012 13:47

You'll be ok upward, and probably lack of tabs making nervous et. Would neighbour/Mother take food in, or is it def too late to cancel?
Friend here yesterday hob, will shop and call again today so am ok thanks, apart from bin-got it out 7am but can't get back. Can't worry about it.
Take care upward, please take tabs. Best wishes.

cityhobgoblin · 27/03/2012 13:47

Sorry not have been back till nw , upward - reaaaly sorry dso stressful for you & hope that once you get there you'll be able to at least feel you're closer to getting out again .
Glad cmht lady thought to take bag, & I'm sure nurses will help with things you've forgotten

Good flat & possessions safe , thanks for reassurance

How awful about food delivery- is t possible to ring supermarket ? Not likely but in the circs they might let you off paying , as goodwill gesture ? You probably don't feel up to that.. can no one at all help you by by stopping in flat for the delivery ? Can't the people whose care services you utilise , provide an extra hour ? Again , short notice makes things difficult

please try todrink and have a snack if you can .. you may already have set off by now but cybergarden is same as ever, and sunnier < winces at playful barking of beagle > xx

cityhobgoblin · 27/03/2012 13:52

Thanks for good wishes for seed sowing , upward , and am so glad your friend will vist again, shodatin

Amazed you managed to get bin out earlier, and of course you can only rest atm . Hope you're able to watch TV or something when awake

hurry up , treatments , work for our lovely cybergardeners !
< HF brings bluebells to upward ,shodatin and Nilgiri >

Upwardandonward · 27/03/2012 18:05

I have taken the meds the past 2 days. I hope everyone's as ok as they can be (I just want out of hospital).

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 27/03/2012 19:07

Thanks for getting back to us , upward I know you've been taking them for 2 days and hope with all my heart you'll be feeling much better soon , certainly that you will be able to leave hospital

Hope staff are being supportive ... even though your wishes are very much being overriddenSad , they are wanting the best for you

Brews all round
Hope you've found you've been able to sleep today, shodatin

shodatin · 27/03/2012 20:00

Sorry upward, I 'd not realised you'd managed to take meds, just that voices had been anti. Good for you. Shame you have to be in hospital again, but am sure it won't be for long this time. Hope you'll feel benefit of drugs very soon.

Thanks to both for good wishes, now some improvement so am sure cybergarden's atmosphere has helped.

Enough sleep thanks hob, hope you're well, and Nilgiri, and thanks for Brew

Nilgiri · 27/03/2012 22:46

Thank you all soooo much for keeping the kettle on.

I'm sorry I haven't been here, especially when everyone is going through such testing times. I've been completely defeated and squashed this last week, and lost the will to keep going myself, so haven't felt able to be exactly supportive. (And I felt "pass the arsenic when you've had yours" might not count as helpful.)

Upward I'm so sorry you've had to go back in, and hope the meds settle in quickly. Crossing everything for you here, that this will be a quick in and out - and that you're now a bit less sore and restricted from the op, as the pain and discomfort and stress from that won't have been helping at all.

How annoying about the food delivery. It's nowhere near as important as you being safe and getting well, but I hope just for your satisfaction you can get a friend to make use of the food.

shodatin so sorry you've also been poorly. Glad friend is around - do hope she can help you get the bin back in. So impressed that you got it out, and in time too, without doing the mad-lady-running-down-the-street-in-nighty dance which I have never done, oh no, it wasn't me.

hob, you are wonderful. That's all I can say. Just wonderful. Thanks

shodatin · 27/03/2012 23:11

Good to hear from you Nilgiri and thank you so much for posting, particularly while feeling down. It's amazing how you manage to be so amusing while not feeling great, but love image of nightie-lady. (My bins kept at front of house, part-hidden in shrubs, so not impossible to drag to rroad, but binmen can leave them anywhere)

shodatin · 28/03/2012 00:09

Wishing goodnight to all, and thanks to some good friends ThanksThanksThanks and some Brews.

Nilgiri · 28/03/2012 00:15

Sleep well, shodatin. And Upward, hope it's not noisy on the ward.

Sleep well, hob.

shodatin · 28/03/2012 10:45

Hope today's better for you upward, despite being in hospital.
Thanks again to lovely cybergardeners for being there (with accompanying animals)
Brew Cheers

cityhobgoblin · 28/03/2012 10:46

Good morning allBrews
So good wonderful to see you Nilgiri < embarrassing group hug , including excitable beagle >

Sorry beyond words to hear how you've been feeling -can surely only be due to the battle between Good and Evil and if currently defeated , the defeat itself is evidence of Evil which will be brought to wider attention < rant rant > Am totally agreeing with you shodatin about how funny Nilgiri is , despite struggles

Defeats or no , you are still a veritable blaze of glory but I daresay you were wanting a basic safety net for yourself & others , or similar < extrapolates wildly >. Think how much can change in only a dozen years , the disability rights movement , revolutions, technology , truth & reconciliation commissions ... as if you don't know that . How much more respectful many , many doctors are now , compared to 10 years ago .. - I knowSad ... how non-oppressive parents are now with their little darlings, a startling difference ... maybe legal / political systems will be next ,& the media

Really , really sorry to have dormoused without replying last night to your encouraging possyt , shodatin - hope the gradual improvement is continuing , & that your sleep hasn't been interrupted , which is miserable & bleak

Thinking of night- times , if upward has been having a particularly stressful tie , I'm sure I'm not the only cybergardener who remembers her when waking getting up briefly in the night , and sends positive vibes
< weeps with joy at wild nightie-lady ... binmen are used to me her round here >

Thank you Nilgiri for soft cushions & warm rugs & friendly crackling, which brought me blissful sleep & I hope all experienced- as you say , ward liable to be noisySad < start's today's healing , calming incantation for upward >

cityhobgoblin · 28/03/2012 10:50

and cheersBrew to you , lovely *shodatin ... hope you're on the mend , but are likely to still be feeling grotty , plus side effects of anti- bs - hope you can stand at open window for some sunshine , which shouldl hold for tomorrow

My ludicrous rantings have delayed my preparations for DM's visit - apologies, but we're all very attatched to Nilgiri

shodatin · 28/03/2012 11:09

Thanks hob for taking time to post, always, and saying exactly right things, again as usual. Hope all goes well for DM's visit - wonder if she'll notice huge improvements since last visit. Bet house & garden looking good.

Car finally returned, with weird apology re yesterday, but still no blank blank MOT certificate.... Now due in couple of hours, and will then attempt on-line renewal. Hope enough in bank to cover unspecified amount - stressful.

No doubt upward would change places, so hope life is improving, and you'll soon be home (they will be needing bed again, don't worry).

shodatin · 28/03/2012 13:07

It's such a beautiful day, am relieved to have proper clothes on again (and car in garage), so much closer to being outdoors. Hope Nilgiri is able to enjoy this lovely weather, even if not in best condition. I'd be feeling worse without ADs, so wonder if you've thought of trying some, since life's got so difficult?

Nilgiri · 28/03/2012 16:07

Beautiful day here, too.

Hurrah about the car, shodatin! But what one earth are they up to with the certificate? I know what you mean about feeling closer to being outdoors - such a glorious day to sit by a window in our orangerie.

Upward hope you've been able to see a little of the sun too.

Hope you had an pleasant visit to DM, hob.

You are, of course, bang on about me as always (except for the "blaze of glory" bit, more damp heap of leaves - slowly turning to mulch). Lots of stuff going on in the general political world, personal political world, and then lots of actually personal stuff, as getting better means I can stop lying to myself about how well and lucky I've been. Leaving me a Bit Pissed Off with very unhelpful people such as my GP...

But anyway, I know I really am lucky to be getting better. And to have so many other humble but good things.

You are all marvellous, and towers of light and joy and kindness in a very mean, unpleasant world, you know that?

Nilgiri · 28/03/2012 16:10

This is how sunny Britain was yesterday!

shodatin · 28/03/2012 16:34

Thanks for sending amazing photo of home
Nilgiri; who knows when we'll see that again? Garage delays are usually because owner enjoys attention.... this one was exceptionally silly.

Must have been some other animal slobbering, as never known beagles to be messy, I on other hand, being only just awake, am frequently in need of a wipe.

Hope they're all good things happening in your life, and a helpful GP is indeed a blessing, so hope you find one.

Not heard from upward, so hope all is well and just
busy with hospital life.

Upwardandonward · 28/03/2012 18:00

I've been refused all leave (ie even not when supervised by staff in the grounds). Technically some say this isn't legal, but pushing it isn't an idea right now as I want to stay voluntary. Everything I brought with me to do has been confiscated :(

My leave will be reviewed Friday, good thoughts would be welcomed for that :(

Lovely to hear from nilgiri (and everyone else).

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 28/03/2012 18:39

Oh that is hellish for you , ((( upward )))... agree probably not legal , but as you know the Mental Health Act of a few years ago allows compulsion in the communityAngry and presumably these sorts of grey areas too ? Please ask for an advocate as you deserve and need the support & clarification a decent one can bring

Absolutely horrified about confiscation - may we ask what type of thing they took - I presume nothing that could be used to harm oneself ?? Are they desperately worried about risk or applying a blanket policy , or what ?

Of course we'll all be sending thoughts & prayers for Friday
Glad fellow guests are trying to help . I can only think the staff are being hassled by management to apply harsh rules , and that they may be concerned for your safety , losing sight perhaps of the desperation these measures provoke - vicious circleSad

No less horrified at unspecified amount & blank certificate , shodatin , & hope you won't need advice from CAB etc- what on earth are they up to ? Hopefully bumbling rather than cheating .

Sorry , thought I'd be able to get back in to see computer today , but was visiting neighbours with DM- brilliant day in Nilgiri's sunshine

Thank you so much for yur kind words , Nilgiri < vast sniffling> & your explanation of current activities is very illuminating , thank you
Every sympathy & many rounds of workers' power salutes on the political activities so much sexism and disablism even in those worlds . We have long been horified by your GP's attitude & hope you'll get much , much better help from GPs in future if you need it

Thank you for your kind words , shodatin< sniff >
Blush slobbering was not the beagle ...

< convenes another group hug , proferring wipes >

cityhobgoblin · 28/03/2012 18:55

Sorry upward , by compulsion in the communiy I meant those Community Treatment Orders ... persuading / coercing when not one one of those is surely a very murky area legally , though if actions are judged to be in best interests of the patient perhaps they are allowed to carry them out ? < hopes legal advice can be accessed at some poin >

Nilgiri · 28/03/2012 20:51

Oh Upward! That's grim! Confiscated all your stuff to do.Shock

I suppose it's possible they know you're one to always push yourself, and this is a way of enforcing rest. But still.Sad

Sending great spades of good thoughts and best wishes for Friday, and actually for all the rest of the time too.

cityhobgoblin · 28/03/2012 21:15

Aha , that's a real possibility abut rest -enforcement, Nilgiri , but so depressing

Hope your car business turned out all right , shodatin - you must be absolutely exhausted < healing vibes for cybergardeners >

So grateful for lovely day... HF was an angel with my Mum & DM tried to persuade lovely neighbour with HCP phobia to seek help & physio

btw , neighbour was surprised the other day to find her floral tribute to her late Dh being munched by no less than 4 bold deer in churchyard ! They love camellias , apparently , carnations , and fresh roses

eveningBrews and soda water with herbal flavouring

Upwardandonward · 28/03/2012 22:21

It's because they want a team decision on risk that they've confiscated everything. Anything can be deemed risky. :( :(

I can't read well tonight, but hope everyone is ok.

OP posts:
shodatin · 28/03/2012 23:01

So sorry to hear about confiscations upward and am surprised you've not been allowed any amusements.
Will certainly be thinking of you on Friday, and hope there will be improvements before then. Take care.

Car eventually sorted thanks hob and wrote cheque for surprisingly small amount. Visit from friend who brought soup, flowers etc. and did dishes; another provided emergency number so well-looked-after.
Group hug is lovely idea Thanks
Goodnight all Brew
