Here's a new thread for us.

Lovely to hear from you again Nilgiri, and have left one of my many packets of wipes nearby for next group hug, sure beagle won't mind being maligned at all, as long as no food loss involved. Agree with you about woodland scene involving deer's dinnertime (had always assumed the carnation-munchers were rabbits), and glad own garden is fenced as deer roam village, I hear.

Thanks for Chocolate Star Award, well deserved after keying-in series of numbers & letters yesterday while feeling just conscious. Await temperature adjustment then can hopefully shop, so all is well, no doubt in part due to all good wishes coming from cybergarden.

Hope you've had some improvements upward, are able to relax more without voices and that you'll very soon be able to at least go outdoors. (Maybe some restrictions due staff shortages, but am thinking of you.)

Hope you're not over-tired after your lovely visit yesterday hob, and that you can rest a bit if needs.

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2012 11:26

Morning all -Sorry for not saying goodnight , sudden (contented) dormousing
Ah , I see , upward , thank you for explaining about safety review . Even though they may be worried about you , I wish they could find time to do a preliminary review or something

So glad more friends helped yesterday , shodatin , & you have another no or emergencies. Very relieved our repair bill was less than expected & you have new certificate . Delighted that you're
Hope you're feeling a tiny bit better today ( argh , I forgot about your temperature fkluctuations- you must have felt horrendouss )[thankss]ThanksThanks for posting through days of feeling poorly Agree brilliant to have Nilgiri here ( though she is of course often to be found resting by water features )

Am charmed at thought of deer roamimg yur village , shodatin ... rabbits would make more sense re flower - munching . Neighbour was distressed the perfect roses were gone ,Nilgiri but she witnessed the scene at the early hour she used to walk that route with Dh & he was like some character from a film , with birds flying to him Grin, so I like to think he was walking with her( & ndt ) & showing her the deer.

Thanks for Brews - chocolate star a splendid award
Hope you can enjoy the sun , Nilgiri , & that you manage some shopping , shodatin
< positive thoughts for brave upward , whose patience is being tried to dreadul limits - hoping sideeffects will soon ease >

shodatin · 29/03/2012 13:29

Thanks for further info re deer-lunch hob, and am sure your explanation helped resign neighbour to loss of roses.
Back wall of house has plaque with antlers, no doubt one of local escapees from deer farm nearby, and can't think how to get it down/dispose of it, as much prefer live and free animals.
Am so pleased, just done supermarket shop and dropped off cheque for car, so feeling almost normal again. This thread really helped, having news and views and feeling part of garden despite being less than A1.
Hope madmouse is also recovering, and having a really smooth move, along with mouseling, who must be excited. Still sending positive thoughts to upward.

Nilgiri · 29/03/2012 15:04

Incredibly impressed you managed to shop, shodatin. Know just what you mean about keying-in great sequences while ill. I heard with horror that some GPs have replaced receptionists with machines you have to type on to say that you've arrived: No. Just No.

Oh *hob, how lovely that your neighbour's DH was a Snow White character! And the deer still come!

As s says, lots of positive thoughts to the mouse family for their move and settling in to all the new routines and places.

And of course strengthening vibes to Upward . Hope you get some of your belongings back today.

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2012 15:44

So pleased you got out tro shops , shodatin

Great joy at tiny fish!!

Hah , my GPs has that system - touchscreen seems most unhygienic

Aaaaaah , no landscape prettier than an orchard < puts out old-fashioned lemonade >

< lugs out ladder to remove antlers from shodatin's wall >

shodatin · 29/03/2012 16:25

Oh that you were here hob! Got rid of ladder for safety reasons, also pre-house move, and just try not to look at the thing now.

Surgery here has a screen too, altho not used often that I can see. Am resolutely refusing to do own supermarket scanning too, and yesterday's mammoth key-in would have taken about 15 min less with a human, even bigger difference if I'd managed on-line before going to phone, but kept missing disability connection - never mind.

Old-fashioned lemonade would be wonderful, and thanks again hob (Off to look in cupboard for refreshments).

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2012 19:25

< HF folds down extendable ladder & sets off for shodatin's > If the task proves too tricky fo rher , though , am sure no one thinks itthe plaque is anything but a relic of times

Ah , at our surgery there is no option , but it does free up te receptionist for queries which accompany working out which appt to ask for

Think most people would strongly agree with you on the self service tills ... a big disability rights issue , as not only do the local Tesco branches make all their tills self service in laater evening , all the supermarkets have speeded up the till process .. Dh and I *together can't keep up ... sorry , rant over for now

Truly glorious day here , - so wish upward was able to have some time outdoors , but thinking of the leaVe review tomorrow

Neighbour redistribting tadpoles among makeshft ponds to avoid cannibalism - if I had some on opposite side of road to the main ponds , I 'd have to set up a www.froglife.org/toadsonroads/maps.htm

Hope you'll forgive "panic-buying" but local towns have run out of petrol & we have a trip planned soonto a booked event - very lucky to have found a station with petrol , but what are the care workers who can't oing to do ?Brews

shodatin · 29/03/2012 20:59

Meant to get petrol today then forgot, but will hopefully manage with gallon left from last emergency. Hope you can find some petrol hob, but remember once that NHS employees were directed to use certain garages to ensure they had petrol, so maybe same will apply to council people, carers etc.
Hope today went better for upward and that tomorrow brings more freedom.

shodatin · 29/03/2012 21:10

Thanks hob for frog and toad info. Must have a look in main borders, as used to have something (hopping) there.

shodatin · 29/03/2012 22:46

Just enough time to make nightcaps before heading off to bed again, Brew Brew Brew etc. Unfair to expect lovely HF to keep rescuing gardeners, so will continue ignoring deer remains on house-wall, and hope HF can relax with her people (and ndt) for rest of evening.
Hope upward is managing better now, and can also have a restful night. Good wishes all round.

Nilgiri · 29/03/2012 23:16

Mmm, Brew! Thank you, shodatin.

So, what do you think of lassoing as a solution to your antler problem? It seems unfair that the antlers have stayed resolutely in place while your lovely Christmas door decoration was blown off so regularly.

Upward, hope today has been bearable. Will be thinking of you and your review tomorrow.

Shock at all these actual encounters with screens in GPs! Guess they're fine as long as you're not, erm, ill or impaired. When going to the doctor. Right.

And glad it's not just me who thinks those self-service tills aren't disability compliant. I'm lucky enough not to have experienced them (major upside to having been housebound), but from all the cursing I read here I'm intending to join you folks in resolutely refusing to attempt them.

hob that toads on roads site is marvellous!

Sleep well all, hope tomorrow brings more slow improvements where needed.

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2012 23:57

< euphoric at toady things in shodatin's borders and the one carefully placed in orchard >

< shreiking at lassoing - shall we arrange a Bank Holiday rodeo to solve this problem? >

Thank you for very relief-making recollection of vital workers having supplies designated for them , shodatin . I didn't want to worry you by mentioning the sshortage but should have remembered to yesterday , sorry - very glad you have a bit in reserve < seriously impressed >

< HF purrs in peaceful sleep after lovely evening off >

peaceful sleep all , especially upward
< herbal tea , Brew and hot choc for stargazers >

Thoughts & prayers for you upward

Upwardandonward · 30/03/2012 08:48

Thanks for all the good wishes generally and for today's meeting.

I hope shOdatin is feeling better, hon can take a rest from the battle of the objects, and nilgiri is recovering.

Take. Care all.

hob even!

OP posts:
shodatin · 30/03/2012 10:43

Thanks so much for managing to post upward - we're sending you good wishes and hoping for improvements in your life from today.
Thanks for the Brew also; don't know how you manage to remember. Really hope all goes well.

cityhobgoblin · 30/03/2012 13:07

So touched that you managed to post , upward, and bring us Brews ( and to worry about my name - me with my endless typos Grin )

Your meeting is at the forefront of all our minds < strengthening vibes > < vibes of great patience >

One more day of incredible sunshine - Dh been able to take a little bit of time off , joy joy though he's been working, & relaxing at home since daren't usee any petrol .. hope your DP isn't going to be stranded , Nilgiri

Gives me a chance to faff about trying to wash hair find something to wear at event at weekend - a band have loved since early teens but never saw , playing a date at a third of the price of the other venues - & weather not due to be hot , which would make it impossible .
Never expected to be able to attempt gigs again , but healtlh condition has allowed some miracles < celebratory jugs of appletize and pink lemonade >

Hope your temperature fluctuations aren't being made worse by warm weather , shodatin

shodatin · 30/03/2012 15:02

Lovely news about this weekend's performance hob, indeed a miracle that you're able to manage it after so much ill-health, and so worthwhile spending time (and even money) to look good for the occasion. Hope your DH manages to take photo of the occasion, and is also enjoying this time off from work. (Did the new job materialise, I wonder, something special is all I can remember).

Temperature's about normal (for me) thanks for enquiry hob, and have had an idea which might help should this problem happen again, alternative to a-biotics but must wait until finished this course.

Another one here hoping to hear good news from upward, also hoping that Nilgiri's health is better.

Upwardandonward · 30/03/2012 16:56

It looks like it's not a short stay :( I am allowed in the grounds with staff now - tricky as there often isn't time, but better than nothing...

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 30/03/2012 16:58

Oh Upward. Sad

Glad you're at least allowed in the grounds now, but... ((( Upward )))

shodatin · 30/03/2012 17:11

Am so sorry upward, to hear latest news, and can only hope you'll soon be able to have some of your brought-in-items to help pass the time.Sad Wish we could do something to help, apart from sending you good wishes and thinking of you every day (and at bed-time of course).

cityhobgoblin · 30/03/2012 18:03

So very sorry , upward . I like to think your medical team are determined to sort out your symptoms & help give you back a quiet mind and help you feel truly hopeful , instead of everything beiing such a terrible struggle

Very touched that you updated us at such a hard time

Hope the busy staff are able to escort you outdoors - so unfair if not enough time ... agree would be good if you could have some distrations - and , as shodatin reminds us , please say if we can do anything

< HF brings upward multicoured tulips >

shodatin · 30/03/2012 21:06

Just wondering if any other cats have been known to bring flowers? Mine only brought damaged mice & birds, hoping to teach pups to deal with them, no doubt, and No. 1 beagle was happy for me to take over his stolen food, but not heard of any other cat giving people desirable presents.

Hope the tulips help you to feel better upward, as we are thinking of you during this difficult time.

cityhobgoblin · 30/03/2012 22:00

I haven't known of any , shodatin , though one previous cat was an urban puss and the next , I stupidly kept as an "indoor" cat for road safety , which I dearly regret - she was a great lover of flowers , red & pink especially ... neither brought rodents as prizes , which is strange as that flat must have had mice . I love thought of your cats trying to improves beagles' skills ...sounds v familiar

< counting down the hours till upward's new medication starts helping > Hope the sideeffects are bearable , upward

Hope you're gradually regaining strength , shodatin, and that DB is reasonably well lately

Hope Nilgiri is enjoying springtime in warm garden , preferablty with nesting songbirds all around

Thank you for enjoying my good fortune with me , shodatin , & for making me think of taking a good , out of focus picture

Thanks for asking also about Dh - , being offered a temp contract to cover an exciting post , but it's partly as a sweetener to doing him out of some of his current payments ... though new pay works out better for his pensionSmile- & what would happen to usual post after that temp contract ? Am very proud though as he's entirely self-taught in that field < revives shodatin after world's longest answer >Thanks

cooling mintBrew all round

Upwardandonward · 30/03/2012 22:08

It's days/weeks unfortunately hob. I do appreciate the wish though! (that's why I'm not allowed out I think).

I hope everyone has a good night and wakes refreshed!
