Hi - found us a new home. Just didn't like the title of my old thread - and have found your support so helpful but would also like this thread to be less egocentric Grin.

Choc -hope cbt assessment goes well.

City - how are you doing?

My physio exercises are helping me, but don't see stroke consultant until beginning of July. Still not had OT assessment, but dont' think will need it by then - just been horrible for dh to do everything for me since Easter. Now more independend - just had my first shower by myself!!

Oh dear God Keziah , am speechless these totally unjustifiable cuts have hit your Mum . I don't suppose she can be helped to cooperate with the process of allowing CAB / a charity to appeal against the decision ? Surely she would win .

It is amazing this care package , but FIL has spent several years lying about reasons for refusal to accept help &y , we now find , pressurising MIIL not to accept it ( financial abuse I know , services wouldn't believe me ) He seems to have wanted to avoid paying the fees for carers , so neglected her latest infection so she would have to be admitted back to hospital Angry & when doc called in , declared he was stopping administering her medicines etc in order for hospital & services to panic & give emergency help , wasting their resources , queue jumping , & distressing SIL & DH when they'd lost their brother & had to watch their mum suffer a mystery deadly disease .... sorry for awful rant

Hope you both have glorious sun like we have here this morning and that you Keziah are resting on probably your last peaceful day Smile
choc , hope your Dad is deflecting some of dd's half term energy & you can relax a bit next week

House & garden still not fit to be seen Sadbut am better painter than previously , though balance means I'll excuse myself that task next time ... lots of bargain primroses to plant out

cityhobgoblin · 20/02/2012 09:13

Thinking of you , Keziah Hope the roads aren't too icy - love & prayersxxx Hope you've recovered from lurgy ,< tries to restrain self from further slobberings > choc

Chocattack · 21/02/2012 00:43

Go Keziah, go Keziah!!! < choc somewhat manic at the thought of a new mnetter baby Grin > Going by your nesting activities birth must be imminent! < choc joins in mantra to ward off forceps! >

Meanwhile, city is outside planting Grin. (Ok I confess I did my first bit of weeding for the year as a treat for the start of the new term. It's been bliss today - loads of walking and shopping.)

I'm completely shocked about your FIL treatment of MIL. You and DH must be so relieved that she is now having her needs met. What an awful thing to say/do though. No wonder you've been so busy. Hopefully it will settle down and you can catch up with your rest. Take it easy (you too Keziah) Smile

cityhobgoblin · 22/02/2012 00:01

< passes choc some Kendal Mint Cake & wownders if brave Keziah could do with some too >

Am slightly numb hoping things are going OK , & hope all professional support is as good as Keziah needs

So good to hear you had a nice day yesterday with the relative freedom & that your Dad is laid - back

Sorry , really slow after busy stuff & will have to write more later - taken a day & a half to summon up a single post for the other thread I post on Grin , but want to say goodnight & that I'm thinking of you during our time sending strengtheniing vibes to Keziah & joining you in our < takes over night shift of incantation >

cityhobgoblin · 22/02/2012 00:02

Sorry for typos- " and joining in our " shouldn't be there

cityhobgoblin · 23/02/2012 01:06

< waves to Hi choc , hoping she's had a good day >
We're both thinking of you , Keziahxxx

Why why why can't I get the PM sendy button to work ? It's been broken all day < bright spark thinks to check on Site Stuff >

Chocattack · 25/02/2012 02:11

< waves hello back to city. Today has been mostly good thank you. Smile >

Am feeling a bit sick right now as scoffed packet of jelly babies in rapid time! Oh well Grin. No idea about the PM sendy button though - sorry. Hope your weekend will be less busy. I plan to relax as much as possible Grin. xx

cityhobgoblin · 25/02/2012 19:55

Blush Sorry choc - once again I thought I'd posted before going out (v busy day ) - 'tis my memory problem , truly

I like your style re the jelly babies < hides empty bag of jelly meerkats >

Hope your digestion recovered and you had a good day

I was on political duty - lots of interest due to media coverage - and for v long visit to MIL , who is stuck in home a further 2 weeks , as services can't get the carers needed ( but at least care has been granted )

Been trying to PM you for days now

Thinking of you , Keziah, sending much love xxx

Chocattack · 27/02/2012 21:40

Oh for the memory problem city - I'm just glad to be in such good company. Today I already ballsed (??) up a cafe chat "mum date" Grin.

Ok so the relaxing didn't materialise!!! Digestion recovered thanks, but the guilt didn't Blush (dd finally asked about the jelly babies tonight!). < choc writes "bad mummy, bad mummy" 100 times>.

Sorry to hear MIL not returning home for another couple weeks. Hope that things go smoothly finding the carers and that it doesn't extend to an even more lengthly stay.

Thinking of Keziah also. I'm pretty sure something must have happened by now Smile. < choc imagines K and her dh shoulder high in nappies and vomit Grin).

A bit edgy today - think it's MN withdrawal!! xx

P.S. wondering if you managed to hit the regional/national news with your politcal activities Grin.

cityhobgoblin · 28/02/2012 01:45

Shock choc- naughty mummy to have fforgotten to replace them - dd will remind you of this in years to come Grin I think it shows that a) you don't keep a regular stash of junk food Envy and b) that dd is good at managing her little hoard of sweeties , spacing them out carefully < mummy brownie points >

Commiserations on lack of Mn time , & hope you get more time to yourself this week . ... I can't do without Mn , especially since the Salon site wiped my all-time favourite forum for lurking - all the years of archives goneAngry , though some good geeks saved what they could

Yes , really hoping that's the scenario with Keziah - has obviously been on my mind a lot < positive thoughts & soppy hugs >

There there about forgetting chat date - you've had a lot on - and as to your question - does happen sometimesGrin

cityhobgoblin · 01/03/2012 00:22

< waves to choc >
Hope you're having a nice , steady week with your Dad there, and that dd is enjoying time with him

Hope you're sleeping OK lately < ah ... just remembered snorey dd >

Am very upset to have been over a week trying to deliver this PM to you < notices choc snoozing didinterestedly > I will make sure it arrives by tomorrow even if I have to ask Mn 's help , but am sure it's not an issue on my PC
Am fine but overwhelmed by practical stuff ... happy St David's day Thanks( big fan of Wales )

Thinking of you Keziah - we'tre so hoping you're OK xxxThanks

Chocattack · 01/03/2012 00:50

Morning city! (Ooh doesn't that sound bright and breezy - yet I'm anything but! Have been wrestling with dd's bike for about 4 hours now Shock. Think it's sorted now.) Good to hear you're fine and well done for excellent time management ensuring MN perusal Grin.

Nice steady week indeed. Lots of time to myself today - I even went to a new support group Smile. Speaking of socialising, what's this 'Salon site' you mentioned? Are lurkers no longer allowed? Grin

Sleep is better (though probably more due to the fact I've now taken zopiclone for a couple of days just to knock me out)! Not only is it the snoring now but her attempts at full-blown conversations at silly o'clock Confused. < choc attempts to remember to buy ear plugs tomorrow > I'm looking forward to tomorrow as I'm meeting an old friend for a catch-up. It's ages since we last met - I've got her ds's Christmas gift on my shelf, lol! Hope you get a breather from the practical stuff. Honestly don't panic about the PM. I'd have to re-read my message as I have no recollection of what I wrote!

Happy St David's day to you too (I really do like the idea of dragons Smile). Take care for now xx

cityhobgoblin · 01/03/2012 16:31

Yo , *choc ! ( could dd please advise on the current acceptably cool greeting ? thanks in advance)

Brilliant you found a way to get to the support group - so pleased . Hope you meet nice people , though of course no one is at their most sparkling during tough period in life

I must stop laughing at dd's noisiness - if you haven't already got your earplugs , the wax ones are better than foam , if I recall
Sorry , will have to finish later -much love to you & Keziah xxx

Chocattack · 05/03/2012 01:24

Hmm advice on current acceptably cool greeting, city? Well I don't know about cool but dd just leaves out the greeting part all together Grin Grin. Maybe that is the nouveau cool!

Weekend has flown by due to impromptu family visits. Dd was beside herself with excitement! Still no earplugs for me (you know my memory Wink) however I think I've got used to her now!

Hope you've had a good weekend and that you're doing good too Keziah Smile. Look forward to hearing all your news. xx

Keziahhopes · 06/03/2012 15:48

Hi - sorry not had chance to read back, but proud to announce our baby son, David, was born on 27th Feb - after a mammoth 5 nights on the labour ward we had an emergency c-section. All worth it! Oh after telling me he was going to be massive David weighed 7lb 15 oz at birth, dropping to 7lb3oz on day 3!!

Home after 4 days on ward and today have managed to get as far as putting on the computer Grin

Hope you all well - will read back if baby allows me to! Feeding is not going amazingly due to general anaesethic and section meaning my milk is delayed so having to use my milk and formula, which is taking much longer than one or the other only!!

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 06/03/2012 17:46

AAAAAAAAAAaaaieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Congratulations , Keziah , Dh and David !!!!! Oh dear heavens , 5 days on labour ward ThanksThanksThanks you are so brave , Keziah - I can well imagine David is worth it

sob sob sniff sniff - I can't believe I'm hearing this 1! < grabs choc and dances a celebratory jig >

Beautiful name Keziah , one very close to my heart ( and nealy born on the saint's day , too )
I 6knew6 it was a boy

You have a son !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for news and hope healing progresses well
lots and lots of love - much joy here xxxxxxxxx
< waves to choc > just came to ( finally) repl to your lovely post and - wow - < still dancing >

So excited I posted in wrong threadShock

cityhobgoblin · 06/03/2012 18:06

oops-knew

cityhobgoblin · 06/03/2012 18:54

jumps up and dow waving to choc > PM send button is still not workingShock I ant you to look at our thread now , please < doubts telepathic abilities after all > At this rate you won't see the news for hours and hours !!!!

Sorry Keziah , in my delirium I didn't absorb the feeding method - I can see that must be very time -consuming & exhausting . Hope Dh is able to take over most of the meals , washing etc & bring David to you for feeds - you must be wiped out after long , long labour
< city wilting with exhausion already and has barely known about baby David for an hour >

cityhobgoblin · 07/03/2012 13:43

< waves frantically to choc>
I keep checking to see whether you've seen the thread yet ! Please do not read my previous message , just go straight to K''s pdateSmile

Hope you're getting some sleep , Keziahxxx

shodatin · 07/03/2012 21:26

I'm on one of cityhobgoblin's other threads, and wanted to send congratulations, plus the info that I remember when DM told us the meaning of the name she'd chosen for her last child (David), was beloved, and guess it's very fitting for your baby too. All best wishes.

cityhobgoblin · 07/03/2012 21:35

Oh shodatin , that's beautiful - of course , it is the perfect meaning for Keziah's son . It's a name that means a lot to me , too

Hope David is sleeping peacefully now & Mum gets some rest too

Hope you've had a good day , choc , and are being very kind to yourself

Peaceful night to us allSmilexxx

Keziahhopes · 07/03/2012 22:41

Thank you city and lovely to hear from you Shodatin... yes, David's name meaning beloved is main reason we chose it (and fact baby David is Welsh).... after such a difficult time his second name means "peaceful" Grin - will tease you with what it is!!

Thank you for your real generosity of spirit shown in post here.

City - dh is doing absolutely everything, including getting up with every night feed!!

Choc - great news about new support group you went to, hope it helps!

Oh and whoever posted about jelly baby eating - in labour (rather a few days!) I ate so so many packets of palma violets which I craved those last few weeks, as the hospital shop sold them and they kept telling me to walk about, so it gave me somewhere to go [oops]!!! Blush

Baby David has red hair and has put on weight, yay!!!!! Still have to bottle feed each time I breast feed as dont' have enough milk and feeding specialist said that is due to mode of delivery and means I probably with it being so reduced will have to bottle feed or do both breast and bottle each feed. Got tablets to try to help increase milk, for now doing both for baby! He has a sore tongue right now, so got gel for it today.

Will not post about awful NHS checkingup on me here - !!!!

Chocattack · 07/03/2012 23:36

Yippee, Keziah!! One million congratulations to you, DH and of course the star of the show himself mahoosive Hmm David. Bet you're absolutely chuffed to bits. I'm so excited - shame it took me until now to see the news Smile.

Hey city your telepathy skills need a bit of fine tuning, lol! Forget hours it was days!!! < But choc finally gets to dance around with city Grin > A lot going on here which I'm sure I'll fill you all in later, but not now cos I'm in CELEBRATORY mood, YAY!!

Love, love, love the name, Keziah. Such a classic and very fitting for a first son Smile. Brilliant of you to share your news with us. Well done for surviving 5 days on a labour ward, 12 hours was enough for me (well actually even that was too long!). Enjoy your bundle. Oh and it was me talking about jelly babie eating Grin. < choc wonders if David was born addicted to palma violets >. Big hugs from me xx

cityhobgoblin · 08/03/2012 11:43

Yaaaaay choc ! , whirls choc round for another dance > So happy to see you celebrating precious son that is one celebration you made there , choc!.

"Beloved" ! Red hair ! Welshness !!! Perfect , fortunate infant ( a lot of coincidences here Grin What a lovely post , thank you
So good to hear Dh is making sure you rest and sleep as much as you can - must have been grim to see you going through so much with the pg then the long wait or birth

Brilliant David hs put on weight , and I hope the gel has helped his sore tongue , bless him

So pleased the sweeties kept your strength up !Grin at D being born addicted to p violets
As to being checked up on , we don't want anyone worrying you , and hope they do the basic checks & leave you in peace - but that's not how it works , is it , when you have had health problems < calming thoughts & prayers >

I expect your milk might still increase , but if not , perhaps not exclusively BF will be less tiring ? (apart from the faffing with bottles) It's really good that David has had some bf so far - may we have a peek at him?
< choc and city try not to squeal near newborn ears >

I've noticed lots of Mn threads popping up in Active Convos about babies predicted to be little giants , extra scans given etc , who were in fact born pounds lighter than expected

I've been fretting choc over whether your sick pay is being changed / cut around now - really sorry if you're having bureaucratic misery < postive thoughts & prayers >

Obviously , Keziah , we don't expect you to post now for a good 20 years !
Oh yes , choc - have you replaced dd's jelly babies yet ?

< means peaceful , you say , Keziah ... I do approve < off to look up >

Keziahhopes · 09/03/2012 18:28

City is your MIL still in nursing home and getting support, or is support now in place for her to come home with practical support needed? Know you were trying to get things sorted when I went into hospital?

Baby had lots of visitors, am absolutely shattered ... so Dh been a star and done so much today so I can sit on the sofa and just feed baby (well that and give him formula... but got some good advice off MN today about feeding, so will try and keep calm that I can continue to breastfeed!). DS only put on 10g in last 3 days, so will see what weight is when weighed next week!

Choc - think DS may like sweeties somehow as having gone off sugar totally in most of pregnancy, craved palma violets and sweets at the end! Have also found them a source of energy today too (oops!!) Love the idea of stealing DD's supply - brilliant excuse Grin

Right - weekend of visitors, so no computer time for me for few days!! xx
