Hi - found us a new home. Just didn't like the title of my old thread - and have found your support so helpful but would also like this thread to be less egocentric Grin.

Choc -hope cbt assessment goes well.

City - how are you doing?

My physio exercises are helping me, but don't see stroke consultant until beginning of July. Still not had OT assessment, but dont' think will need it by then - just been horrible for dh to do everything for me since Easter. Now more independend - just had my first shower by myself!!

Oh you poor thing , Keziah < emetophobe here > What does Gp say is likely to be causing current symptoms ? Am sure you're having right urine & blood tests for all the most likely causes but that can only cover some of the possible reasons . I don't know... are you one of the people who tends to vomit with infections ? Am worried for you and wonder if you can talk to consultant / just the ward on phone ?

Please mind those icy pavements & roads Shock

Argh at my lack of posting , choc- have heartfelt , once in a lifetime messages from relatives going totally unanswered here < plods > Sounds to me as though you are doing very , very well with your precarious mental state and hope you're taking things gradually , as you always try to raises glass of Brew.

Am cheery but behind with things here - at least it's a bit warmer , though obviously not where you are , Keziah

Healing thoughts and love to allxxx

Chocattack · 17/01/2012 14:01

Oh no Keziah at being sick Sad. I can't imagine how much more uncomfortable that must be with bump. You deserve a medal. How is it with your CPN? Must feel strange after so long without.

It's still bitterly cold here (not indoors Grin). Opened front door to do school-run and my neighbour was outside house scraping ice off her windscreen and it was refreezing faster than she could get it off!!!! She didn't look happy, lol. But no snow here.

Don't worry city, I'm behind here too today. We can plod on together. I have set myself task of mopping kitchen floor today so will complete that before braving the cold again. Early night for me tonight even if that does necessitate pharmaceutical assistance. < How many times has choc said this Hmm ?! >

Keziahhopes · 17/01/2012 16:26

Hi - first time seen CPN for 4 weeks, see again in 2 weeks. So far she has done nothing but talk with me, and none of that has been useful Sad However she is going on training all next week, so who knows she might pick something up to change how she works!!

To help sickness managed to buy some palma violet sweets which I have been craving and seem to help, but are hard to buy (got 10 packets Blush but in my defence they are small!!)

Early night sounds good choc but I want to watch Masterchef and that is annoyingly not on till 9pm, so not sure if that will work. Last time I tried to use new recorder it didn't record - oops!!

City Gp not sure if it is my heartburn causing the problems, the strong IV medication I had or the last infection I had, or new infection I had. So got more medication for heartburn (plus sweeties) to see if it helps, plus smaller meals but more often. That will rule out one problem... and if it is heartburn, just 7 more weeks of it (ouch!!) They can't do more tests till the iv antibiotics are out of my system more so few more days for those results and tests. I just want to be physically better before birth.

Oh yes, scraping the car in the middle of the day wasn't my idea of fun today either!!

Thanks for updating Keziah when you've had a busy day on top of illness . Aaargh at icescraping in your condition - you were very brave to struggle out

So sorry the CPN is persistently unhelpful -- just what you need . AngryGrin at " so perhaps she'll learn something useful "

Really sorry to mither you about this but I'm fretting over the possible reason /s for the sickness ...I know IV ABs often cause this but were you actually sick through the actual IV process ? You haven't had regular vomiting with heartburn before ? (I know it probably gets worse as pg progresses ) Do you tend to be sick with infections ? What I'm wondering is if your GP/ midwife/consultant is keeping up to date on the tests for protein in urine etc and types of infection dangerous in pregnancy ... sorry to make you feel worse , & obviously you & choc know more about this than I dor

Hope you got to at least see some of the good bits on Masterchef . Eeek I just clicked on th MN Masterchef thread in Telly Addicts .I still need to learn how to work the "new" recorderere DH is tecchie but often finds programmes haven't recorded so I'm convinced theese newfangled devices are rubbish

Hope you're feeling better after cough bug , choc, and thank you for plodding on with me through the dayGrin AVG thingy blocked MN for several hours earlier- I nearly burst

Wishing you both a healthier night's sleep - sorry you're still needing help with it , choc , and wish Keziah comforting dreams to help her with illness plus late pg discomfort plus idiot posters who worry her at bedtime SadBlush

cityhobgoblin · 17/01/2012 21:30

Sorry Keziah , re read and saw GP moved lab test forward a day , but still
hope things become clearer very soon

Just saw too that snow may be due round your way < turns cartwheels >

< shoos it away from chocland >

cityhobgoblin · 18/01/2012 10:33

Hope you both got some sleep . Really sorry Keziah if it seemed as though I wasn't listening to the details you'd made the kind effort to give us , especially about needing to wait for the IV drugs to be out of your system ... I wasn't forgetting that , but was fretting anyway

< has word with self >

< low -caffeine Brew all round >

Keziahhopes · 18/01/2012 18:00

[grins] at city - it is ok, good to chase me, I accept feeling ill as standard too often!!! Mm, ate far too many of the palma violets, but it worked and I wasn't sick!!

Got midwife tomorrow so will get her to test urine and grill her on anything showing up and as she is quite senior expect some action if it is different to what the urine test at lab can show. Must admit I think I still have a uti but am an antibiotics at home, oral ones, so who knows what it is!!

gp gave me gaviscon and tablets for sickness - but I prefer the palma violets Grin!!

No snow today, quite mild in fact .... wonders if it will come at weekend.

< choc pops by to wave to Keziah and city >

Sorry you're still suffering Keziah (I must find out about these seemingly addictive palma violets Grin). Thanks also to Mothercity for fretting for us both. Glad you have midwife tomorrow. I'm joining city in laughing at your CPN comment Grin.

I did get some good sleep last night thanks city (and without chemical assistance). In fact I've had quite a lot of sleep today. I've struggled today. I inadvertantly fell asleep after school-run and I think I only woke up because my scarf and poncho that I hadn't taken off when I got home had somehow become wrapped tightly around my neck. I took this as a sign that I actually needed to sleep as I don't normally just fall asleep so went to bed. I just don't feel right. And Keziah I can relate to that feeling of accepting feeling ill as standard. I guess I've felt off since late last week but when the bug thing arrived thought maybe it was because of that. Now I'm not sure. Outside was particularly loud and overwhelming today and yet I don't feel anxious in the slightest.

It's mild here too so keep shooing city Grin. Definitely don't want it at the weekend - I'm planning to take dd to the cinema for the first time ever Shock. Wish me luck. xx

cityhobgoblin · 18/01/2012 23:32

Thank you for being patient with me , Keziah! Your anti -nausea "pills" are just the sort of thing I would do Grin... My Mum & Gran's fave , I'm so glad you're going to quiz midwife tomorrow . Previous MN threads and a cousin's experience have made me worry about the possibility of preeclampsiaSad - this article says such and such tests ought to be done ( I know , I know )http:/ezinearticles.com/?Common-Reasons-for-Pregnancy -Nausea - in -Third - Trimester&id3453628

Aaaw , we want you to get some snow at this special time . Quite cold still so I bet there'll be other chances .

Hope you got a reasonable sleep ,choc & as for the sense of wellbeing & readiness to rush back to work Shockyou had the other day , that seems a really good sign . I don't think you really know till you're working . Even then the environment & management culture are crucial , plus of course other circumstances of your life ... hmmm , I really don't know what I'm talking about here but have had a lot of experience in changeable conditions so may come up with a sensible thought at some point

< waves back to choc > Oh no , just sen how rotten you're feeling . Shock at near - strangulation waking you . Mothercity will try to think of useful suggestions
< passes round hot water bottles >

< shoos cold front vigorously >

cityhobgoblin · 19/01/2012 09:09

Morning < cheery cheery> sorry , here's the link , hopefully working this time . Hope you had some sleep &mw appt goes well http:/ezinearticles.com/?Reasons-for-Pregnancy-Nausea-in-Third- Trimesterid 3453628

Hope you're OK choc < off to find useful suggestions > I have lurgy and am panicking like mad about house inspection

< eats Christmas cake to save it going out of date & nods approvingly at Big Society , The Musical on breakfast TV >

cityhobgoblin · 19/01/2012 09:10

Oh why won't it work ...< hands round extra bits of icing >

Chocattack · 19/01/2012 12:04

Blimey city, you were rather chirpy this morning weren't you Grin !? (Just ignore me, not functioning well. Wish I could sleep but am awaiting a call from my gp - unfortunately I ramble incoherent when I'm forced to talk upon waking. Don't want to subject her to that any more than usual). I just can't get going today, so tired. The sleep is giving me the run around. I don't think changing time of taking meds has worked but worried to switch back too soon without giving fair trial.

Ooh send me some Christmas cake pleeeeease! I finished mine urm I think a few days after Christmas < choc wonders whether it really was Christmas recently Confused >.

How long until the house inspection? Try not to panic (easy for me to say I know). Hope lurgy doesn't grind you down the way it did me. Although it might mean you having to cancel the inspection, yay!!

< choc off to read about 3rd trimester nauseau Grin > xx

Chocattack · 19/01/2012 12:11

< choc is chuffed with self > Grin Grin

Chocattack · 19/01/2012 12:16

Brilliant city, thanks! I especially loved this bit - what do you think Keziah?!

"There is one final factor that can lead to nausea in late pregnancy-though in this instance it is a bit easier to diagnose. If nausea, vomiting and diarrhea coincide with cramps, backache, pelvic pressure, and contractions occurring less than 10 minutes apart, labor has begun."

How did mid wife quizzing go?

Chocattack · 19/01/2012 12:17

Gosh I'm soooo nosey today! Is that what being on tenderhooks does Hmm

cityhobgoblin · 19/01/2012 17:14

Awww , I'm upset to have missed you there ,choc .I fell asleep on sofa with my lurgy, so hope it will clear faster
Sympathies on trying to clear head to speak with GP- ooooooooh it's impossible . I just hope she was able to help .

I usually look on threads I'm on quite often during the day , so am
Thank you so much for sortinrg out the link- since dh installed new hard drive I can't get a working link ...it doesn't like me.

I'm fretting over Keziah too , which can't be good for her spirits
Oh choc , sorry to make you crave Christmas cake why don't they market stollen and lebkuchen all year round ? I try to hoard some from Lidl but there's only so much room in the food budgetGrin

Keziahhopes · 19/01/2012 17:47

[grins] at my kind friends finding me links! I can guarantee it is not labour, off to read link properly now though.

Thanks for palma (or is it parma, you would think I would know the amount I have eaten) violets. Wishing I could find more of the giant ones, though I don't think I eat less of them. Hospital shop is best source Blush of giant ones I have found!!

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 19/01/2012 18:00

City hope you feel better and house inspection goes well.

choc you might be physically ill, so worth getting checked out? Like blood tests for iron etc etc....

Midwife - mm, less than useful. But agree urine lab testing way ahead. I at least have consultant appointment in 3 weeks so can find out more then!!

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 19/01/2012 18:41

Good to see you Keziah and hope symptoms aremuch improved < lugs out new box of giant violet "pills" > .
Shame about mw appt being rather useless -am quite shocked .Sorry to dig out a non- referenced / reputable article but I know you'll have better sources . Sorry for alarmist bits but we want Star Trek levels of vigilance for you ., spaceage cottonwool>

Thank you , am feeling better , and agent 's date will be sometime this fortnightGrin but is still major panic as am slooow

Any picturesque frost where you are ? How nice that the hospital shop stocks the comforting sweeties , which I think bring back memories for a lot of people. Hope you enjoy being tucked up at home & that you're still celebrating Christmas till end of Feb, as we like to in this house(even if poor choc has run out of festive cake )t

How are you feeling , choc ? Agree wih 8Keziah* you might need some blood tests for anaemia , thyroid etc . Could it be a post-viral fatigue thing & if so , you'll needas much rest as possible . I'm sure GP will check you for glandular fever if it goes on for a while . If you've been under par for ages I know it's the last straw to wonder whether there's an underlying health problem , but docKeziah and mothercity will help you trying to work it out <

You probably won't be able to take dd on daunting cinema trip atmSadbut am curious as to what the up-to-the-minute 5 year old wants to see . Is it dd's birthday or have we missed it ? Sorry , I know no one mentions birthdays but surely we can for the dc

Hope we all feel better this eveningxxx

Chocattack · 21/01/2012 22:46

Howdy Smile. Feeling much better really but still managed to oversleep this morning so didn't get to the cinema. Dd was ok about missing it (her fault, she overslept too Grin). No it's not her birthday - she'll still be four and three-quarters (lol, that's what she tells everyone!) for a little while longer. It was meant to be a "play date" (a different child) but comedy circumstances on both sides meant it wasn't to be.

Gp was helpful - am going back to have more blood tests as thinks it's possibly anaemia. So spot on MotherDoctorcity Grin. That said I'm expecting them all to come back normal (I'm sure gp thinks it's all psychological).

Feeling good this evening having spent far too much buying clothes (for me) and shoes (for dd) Shock. Hope things good your ends xx

cityhobgoblin · 22/01/2012 01:48

Well howdy , chocGrin . Enjoyed your lovely post , thank you , and glad things worked out fun after all < heh heh at useful aesthetic puchases >.
Sorry , bit migrainey so doctormothercity will post again later - sympathies if it is anaemia , and glad GP investigating

Been thinking of you and Keziah but trying not to mither you < crate of parma violeats >

Keziahhopes · 22/01/2012 13:40

Choc good dr running tests, and it could be physical if they think it might be! Shopping sounds nice. Good both of you overslept Grin so dd ok about it.

Another clear test - yay! No more pseudomonos for me!! Mm... crate of parma violets good as I have run out!!

Am just tired today. But going to pack hospital bags for birth for me and baby and sort nursery out a bit!!

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 22/01/2012 19:24

Oh no Keziah , I wondered if that was the infection you had - thank goodness you're clear . How excitinbg to be packing hospital bag < adds pack of warm onesies >< and snacks & sweeties for Mummy >

Hope you're recovering from lurgy , choc , and that the tests will help you start to eliminate possible causes of the longer - term exhaustion ( which might well be afrecting your mh , too, obviously )

Fine here , busy - hope we all have a good eveningxxx

cityhobgoblin · 22/01/2012 19:24

argh , sorry for typos
