Hi kizzie, why not come and have a bit of a blether in the cybergarden, particularly on a difficult day? We seem to have plenty of space for the rest of us to do some (usually pointless) rabbitting, and snowmash doesn't seem to mind , in fact we often seem to be talking among ourselves while waiting for her to arrive. And often about gardening, whether s. likes it or not.
Holiday periods can be awkward for a lot of people; only one more day to go.

cityhobgoblin · 25/04/2011 00:08

Hi everyone, I'm fed up with missing saying "goodnight / morning as keep falling asleep / oversleeping. Thinking of snowmash as always & don't feel right without checking thread . Hope as shodatin says that there's been some little treat on the ward for Easter .

Delighted with the dragon coming into our cybergarden - obviously sought sanctuary there & living happily ever after , TIANC - love that thread . Hope you've enjoyed socialising today , shodatin & that pixie's family have been able to spend time together today , with fingers crossed that DD is a little better.

Glad you're finding Twitter useful , kizzie. Still smarting from being laughed at by whippersnappers for not having my own Twitter account ..

Hope madmouse is feeling spiritually uplifted by Easter & that snowmash was able to get to the hospital's church service ( I think you said you try to go snowmash , though obviously it must be very difficult if feeling unwell ) .

Been incredibly fortunate as had a lovely day, after surviving an event yesterday I'd been dreading for months (rotten person from past was there - v trivial I know ) - I finally got to Meeting this week & thought of you whilst there shodatin , hoping you'd feel refreshed & connected to your spiritual roots ...that new opportunities for that will keep opening up for you.

Afterwards DH felt inspired to drive us to favourite places for a meander , which was knackering but very picturesque & makes me hope more than ever for a massive lessening of claustrophobia for anyone on thread who feel it atm.

Hope all have a very peaceful night.

ThisIsANiceCage · 25/04/2011 00:15

Hi, hope everyone had as a good a day as possible.

snowmash hope you got something special today, and madmouse was thinking of you and your busy DH.

I've left it rather late to make you a Brew, kizzie, but there's usually one keeping warm in the pot in the summerhouse, or iced tea in a jug by the Moorish fountain. As shodatin says, come in, make yourself comfy and have a blether!

shodatin, hope you're not too tired after socialising. Utterly exhausted here, as travelled to visit relatives, but really worth it and weather was gorgeous.

Now too whacked to do much more than wave faintly and wish you all a good night's rest.

ThisIsANiceCage · 25/04/2011 00:15

X-post! Will read yours now, hob, and crash out!

cityhobgoblin · 25/04/2011 00:34

Very glad you found the journey so worthwhile TIANC & hope a good sleep helps restore you. My awful long post will have made you keel over with exhaustion if you did stop to read it before bed Sad.
Night again all.

shodatin · 25/04/2011 10:20

Morning all - I missed the goodnight altogether but hope we're all OK, particularly snowmash, ill and away from home.
Was thinking of you too hob, and local Friends. Am so pleased you made it to meeting, and the person you mention proved unimportant.
You were very brave to travel on Easter Sunday TIANC, and not at all surprised it was tiring, but good for you and congratulations.

Kizzie, you deserve congratulations too, as I have yet to have a look at Twitter,( and glad to see other people are a bit behind). Hope it was worthwhile and adds something good to your life, important when not feeling A1.

madmouse · 25/04/2011 10:36

Thanks for the wishes - the spiritual uplift from easter did not really happen as I was struggling. I'm glad we have today and tomorrow off. Relaxing today, looking after good friends' dds tomorrow (10 and 13 - a real treat)

Off to do some shopping giving dh a few hours to chill - then do something together

How is everyone else?

Hope you have some good times now your DH can have some time off, madmouse. It must be awkward for you at church celebratory times. I no longer expect to feel uplifted every single time, but think maybe this is one of the reasons the suicide rate increases at Christmas.

Hi Pixie, hope family enjoying Easter, and Easter eggs, and no further problems with DD2's health. Another lovely sunny day here and hope it is where you are.
Hello to snowmash and hoping you have something a bit different for the holiday, particularly something musical.

ThisIsANiceCage · 25/04/2011 17:15

madmouse so glad you have 2 days off with DH now.

hob very well done on surviving event with Person To Avoid. Know exactly what you mean about dreading it for months.

Tired and mardy here, unsurprisingly. Perhaps today wasn't a great time to help DP practice tying a bow tie. ("Your right?" "No my right." "But the mirror image picture shows..." "Can we do this sitting down, please?")

Now lurking in bed, to stop me grumping at him for breathing ironing-related offences. Smile

Hope everyone else having a less grumpy day.

madmouse · 25/04/2011 17:26

Oh TIANC sorry you're grumpy - hope it passes soon

I was a bit grumpy too as Dh has decided that he is not going anywhere today, not even getting dressed.

But then I took ds to the park and as he always longinly looks at the skate park ramps I let him have a go...in his walking frame...with me running next to him and him shouting weady teady goooooooooooooooooooo

so funny and the older kids were great letting him

OP posts:
ThisIsANiceCage · 25/04/2011 17:40

That's sooooo cute! And how lovely of the big kids to welcome him on. [busmile]

I'm just exhausted from yesterday, is all. And actually I'm a awful lot better than expected - just shattered, not ill.

Which is a good reminder that I should be napping, not MNing!

cityhobgoblin · 25/04/2011 17:40

Afternoon all , hope everyone has a chance to relax for a bit in the astounding sunshine .
Expect TIANC will be resting vigorously after visiting family but hope she can still enjoy herself later.

Hope young pixies have fun with PILS & that kizzie has a good day.

Sorry it's such a challenging time madmouse & hope you & dh enjoy the time off . Impressed that you plan to have both DDs of your friend tomorrow & sure they'll enjoy your company , & mousling's . Hope too that ds' extra challenging phase soon develops into a more enjoyable time.

Thank you so much for thinking of me too , shodatin , & I hope that through your fFriends' visits , letters , newsletters etc you are enjoying socialising & that you'll continue to find new ways to get round the restrictions to access so you can feel stimulated & refreshed rather than having to just rely on willpower to manage tedious times . ( I know you also try to store up enjoyable activities to look forward to after your chores , as I do )
Are you able to borrow any books from your Meeting ? Brilliant books published lately , as you can see from the Yearly Meeting site. I must see if there's a second hand section.

Hope indeed that snowmash has had something a little different this Easter, & that the hospital kitchens have staged a revolution of appetising meals

cityhobgoblin · 25/04/2011 17:49

Sorry , crossposted - very fed up for you madmouse but delighted with ds [bugrin]. Hope things undergo big jolts of improvement very soon .

Many commiserations on mardiness TIANC but really good sign that you feel exhausted rather than ill. Thank you about Person to Avoid - knew you'd understand - 'tis a useful reminder to deal with old emotions . Hope you feel better after Mning napping.

cityhobgoblin · 25/04/2011 17:52

PS I forgot to thank shodatin for understanding same thing.
Lemon balm Brew Brew Brew Brew Brew in summerhouse , covered in muslin as TIANC always does.

shodatin · 25/04/2011 21:01

Lovely to hear about mouseling enjoying the skate park; big kids probably enjoyed watching too.
Hope the mardyness wears off overnight TIANC, and your DP gets forgiven for breathing [bugrin]. You do stay amazingly cheerful despite problems.

Thank you for good wishes and understanding hob, but afraid I can no longer manage to concentrate enough to read books, altho we do have a library plus table in lobby for recycling them. Am training self to stop buying them as I have so many unread, and even finishing main section of Sunday paper is a challenge. Sorry to moan, have finished for today.

kizzie · 25/04/2011 22:20

shodatin sorry reading is really difficult for you. Do you like magazines / newspapers - or are they still an issue ? X

shodatin · 25/04/2011 23:17

Hi kizzie, hope you're having a better day.

Have always enjoyed books and libraries so much, I couldn't see the point of the internet for myself, until life became so limited I needed to add another dimension. ( Last year, in fact, which probably explains lack of Twitter experience.) Learning to use laptop co-incided with reading difficulty, so of course, there was less time available for books plus it's now easier to Google stuff from home than drive to the library.
Sorry to go boring on - not many people manage to avoid computers for as long as I did; am really just catching up.

cityhobgoblin · 26/04/2011 00:22

Hope everyone is winding down for a peaceful night .
I swear I saw & smelt a huge jasmine in flower yesterday (aren't they supposed to flower at the end of summer? ) so I have an excuse for hoping the jasmine in our cybergarden sends scent through all our bedroom windows.

You so do not "go boring on" shodatin, very far from it , & I was the one who asked the question . So sorry about the difficulty with reading & really hope the internet helps you with information & enjoyment.
If you don't mind me suggesting so , your long habit of avid reading may have helped achieve / maintain your brain's capabilities compared to someone who didn't exercise their mind in that way , according to my half- baked understanding of current research.
( btw I fully believe all books unread / people as yet not met / places not visited will be caught up with in a fabulous afterlife full of purpose & vigour & joy & justice ....ahem...this is my woolly certainty & I like it )

Hii kizzie, hope you had a good day & that the pixie clan had some fun .

Lots of restorative sleep to you TIANC and of course snowmash. Hope you're not hideously stressed if it's doctor's rounds tomorrow.
Best wishes to madmouse for a good day with friend's dc.

shodatin · 26/04/2011 00:48

Thankyou hob for being so kind, and for afterlife ideas, which I look forward to pondering when less tired. Must go to bed now, goodnight all.

ThisIsANiceCage · 26/04/2011 01:33

Yikes, just seen time! Penalty of snoozing earlier.

cityhobgoblin · 26/04/2011 13:55

Blush Afternoon all! Where did the morning go...Hope shodatin & TIANC & that snowmash isn't having to put up with a stiflingly hot room at the moment.

Thank you shodatin , you are (all) very patient for putting up with my ideas.

Hope pixie and family are all OK today & that kizzie is being patient with herself ( & that her rhododendron turns the corner soon ).

Eeek , I didn't see the spoof Kate Middleton webchat earlier but notice a poster named hobgoblin put in several q's in a verbose manner like mine Shock..not me! Would have said good morning here first ( and am a raving Marxist)
< off to put up Mayday bunting >

Brew Brew Brew and homemade lemodade

cityhobgoblin · 26/04/2011 13:56

PS TIANC, how envious I am of those who make sense for any proportion of their day ...

shodatin · 26/04/2011 14:20

Afternoon all, hope we're all having a good day, altho not much sun here.
Hope snowmash had a positive interview with the consultant (if it was yesterday) - we do all think of you often.

Hob, have just checked Jasmine after your comment, find there is more than one kind and Chinese variety flowers late winter-spring although not frost-hardy, which is probably what you found - lovely.

Thanks for understanding about the books, people. I console myself with the fact that lots of people manage very well without them, and it is possible that
I'll return to them one day. So far TIANC, I've only contemplated Twitter so
I don't know what it's for either. I did join Facebook a few weeks ago, wanting to see some information, but have not taken it further (not sure what that's for either, although a friend seemed to be offering me some farm goods, which caused mild panic for a few minutes).
