snowmash's cybergarden

We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

X-post.

Night, snowmash, hope you get some decent sleep.

Night snowmash, try not to worry, because people at the hospital want to help you get well, (whether you agree with them or not, they are doing their best for you). We'll be thinking of you tomorrow and Tuesday.

Goodnight to everyone else, and TIANC I'll probably dream of all those trees....

Night snowmash- yes we will indeed be thinking of you with especially positive vibes these next couple of days.
< swoons at TIANC's gorgeous trees , shoos bee off mug of reheated camomile and passes organic insect repellant round as pond has attracted more insects than anticipated >

:-) at poshe fountain & inventive methods of cutting down on mowing - as to those predictable flowers, I'm sure your council would be happy to let you do a spot of " guerilla gardening " instead. They even did some such on The Archers once.

Peaceful night to all pixie's family and hope you see positive signposts soon, madmouse. Extra doses of energy -giving sleep toshodatin and TIANC and of course soothing dreams to snowmouse.

snowmash · 14/03/2011 07:30

Morning all

madmouse · 14/03/2011 07:33

Morning snowmash thinking of you - hope the next two days will be better than you expected.

Still here if you need to talk about anything x

cityhobgoblin · 14/03/2011 07:42

Morning snowmash, madmouse , all. We're all hoping the next couple of days will prove better than anticipated for you , snowmash , and that this thread might help you relieve some of the tension .

shodatin · 14/03/2011 09:57

Morning all - what hob said. A beautiful day here, but unfortunately I can't stay - back later but all best wishes to snowmash and madmouse.

Morning Pixie - what a good idea to suggest lavender bags for snowmash. I've taken to sprinkling pillows with oil so don't have any here, but please let us know Snowmash as they would be calming/relaxing.
Actually, please let us know how you're doing anyway, particularly if we can help.

ThisIsANiceCage · 14/03/2011 13:20

Hey there, good to see you all. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Grey and horrid in RL, so definitely going to set up a cushioned steamer chair by the stove in the summerhouse, and listen to the birds doing their spring thing and maybe swooping down to collect nesting materials, as shodatin described. Might take a slushy, brain-candy novel, now I come to think of it.

shodatin · 14/03/2011 14:06

Hello TIANC, Hope you're comfortable there and enjoying the view. It's actually good here in RL, and warm enough without a coat, if in the sun. (North unfreezes occasionally, so we make the most of the sunny days) Will be joining you for the usual Brew later, but still don't have the biscuit habit (more for snowmash when she can get here).

ThisIsANiceCage · 14/03/2011 16:25

Time for more Brew and Biscuits for those that fancy them.

But don't let me lead you astray from your good habits, shodatin, if you have to be careful about what you eat.

OP posts:
snowmash · 14/03/2011 16:28

I'm trying to be distracted today... ;)

Thanks for the tea and biscuits - almost my tea time.

ThisIsANiceCage · 14/03/2011 16:49

Ooh, what can we do to distract you?

Did you see the thread here about dying a pony pink? I've been laughing so hard I hurt something. Grin

cityhobgoblin · 14/03/2011 16:57

Yum - thanks TIANC. Excellent to see you enjoying a snack snowmash and I hope you find a good choice for your tea , & pleasant distractions.

Another one here agreeing with the lavender bags idea. Any other sleep aids you coud do with? I like audiobooks - do you have access to any?
Have you been enjoying your slushy novel, TIANC? Which types of birds did you see? Very pleased to hear of the warmth round your way, shodatin.

Have you had a good day, pixie? Think we were all still dozing doing chores at the time you asked if anyone had anything nice planned - you must have finished yours first!
I've been having a nice day - beloved pussycat flipping in the warm sun & I found a couple of bargains in charity shop.

cityhobgoblin · 14/03/2011 17:01

Wish we could have those moving ROFL smileys on Mn. Is the OP meaning that the kids' party activity is for them to dye further ponies pink? Oh my, oh my

ThisIsANiceCage · 14/03/2011 17:25

Well DP (who is getting waaay too involved) wants to know if we have a robin in the cybergarden, because our rl robin hasn't been around much this year.

Meself I have a soft spot for thrushes. They used to crack snails on the concrete outside my childhood bedroom, and I miss them. IIUC they spend a lot of their hatchling year at ground level, so domestic cats just massacre them. Sad

snowmash · 14/03/2011 17:31

I'm tempted today unwed to be going home tomorrow...that's what I'm trying to distract myself from :s as I don't know what they'll say :( (my misdeeds may come back to haunt me)

snowmash · 14/03/2011 17:51

Don't know what that was - essentially that I want to be going tomorrow

shodatin · 14/03/2011 17:54

TIANC, please tell DP we do have a robin, and I think it's related to the one my neighbour had a few years ago, because if you hold out some food, it will come and sit on your hand to eat it. (had forgotten about that robin, so thanks for reminder) .

Hi snowmash, do join us in the garden for some distraction. I think the doctors will probably let you out accompanied before you can go home for good.

Ah, and then if you don't get to go home it's proportionately disappointing. Sad Horribly familiar cycle for Pixie's family recently, too.

You know we'll still be here for you, even if you are kept in a bit longer?

snowmash · 14/03/2011 18:05

I'm allowed escorted in the grounds for short periods. I think we have at least one robIn
