We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

Afternoon allBlushenormous amount of sleeping been going on here! ( not feeling rotten at all). We're all really hoping DD got on OK yesterday, pixie.
madmousehas just posted on her thread about today that she & mouseling are home after successful procedure!!!
That's a lovely way of putting it. shodatin, hoping that something has been arranged in snowmash's environment to match the glorious weather. Hope you have a good day .
So pleased you've been able to get out in some sun TIANC & are looking forward to some potting up - I'm still sowing seed but at least I managed to find my hoard of saved seeds this year !

Peaceful afternoon to all

cityhobgoblin · 08/04/2011 12:29

Glad to hear they're pleased with her progress , pixie x

shodatin · 08/04/2011 14:01

Sorry I got days muddled Pixie, but so pleased for improvement. Have you been taking oxygen with you on outdoor trips until this hospital visit?

Hello hob, you must have needed the sleep, so glad you were able to have it. Good news about finding saved seeds - know the feeling.... Have managed to do most of the potting up, just a few re-arrangements due for containers plus gate to re-repair when enthusiasm strikes but actually I'm postponing getting printer fixed, much rather sit in sun and forget chores. Have a Brew first, I think, and postpone just a bit longer.

Wish I knew what you're doing now snowmash (just noseying)

kizzie · 08/04/2011 16:54

Hi snowmash (and everyone else ).
Beautiful sunshine here today. Been doing quite a lot of pottering around the garden. Very underrated - pottering ! Have also been trying to practice cbt and mindfulness exercises. I'm pretty hopeless at them to be honest but I've promised myself I'll give it a really good go this year.
Very boring but I've been on a lower dose of medication for two months now. It is a very low dose. Advantage is that I don't get the horrible physical side effects. Cons - it's not quite enough to control my anxiety etc. So hoping that by 'topping' up with cbt. Well that's the plan anyway :-)

Anyway sorry for waffling on! Take care snowmash. We are all thinking of you. Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

shodatin · 08/04/2011 17:43

Thanks for good wishes kizzie, hope you have a good weekend too. Glad you're on small dose of meds only; must be getting better. On a bad day I add a Berocca, which I think helps a bit, but definitely no side effects. My db has just started a cbt programme, after waiting for about a year, and we're both hoping for good results, so hope it's effective and worthwhile for you too.

Evening all - phew , afternoon flew by. Really good to hear you've been enjoying pottering kizzie- definitely one of my favourite activities. You must have been practising a lot with coping techniques to get down to a tiny dose , so with luck the cbt exercises will bridge the gap for you . I did cbt years ago and was surprised to find it so useful , & recommend it to friends.

Ah shodatin , do you mean you find one of those vitamin supplements can help during an anxious time , rather than simply help energy a bit? If so I'll recommend that to my Mum in a sec (suggested the cbt earlier!) Hope your db finds both helpful.

You deserved a relaxed time after all your potting up . I too have been wrestling with a broken gate today - I know that "re -repair" feeling. Lovely neighbour has lent us a printer in the nick of time for me to do some "Save our NHS" flyers Grin so I hope the Printer Resurrecting Fairy comes to make you similarly happy.

Been very fortunate to enjoy sunny afternoon with my mum , & showed her the bluebells & wild primroses & violets growing all over the local churchyard . Hope you were able to get time outside today , snowmash.

TIANC, hope you haven't worn yourself out ( and if so , please rest rather than reply to us )

v sorry for long post again

shodatin · 08/04/2011 20:02

Pixie, had no idea the supplementary oxygen was so necessary, it must have been so difficult just getting out and about with a wheelchair. Glad to hear now less necessary - may it continue.

hob, I think the Berocca help with depression - have never noticed more energy but just remembered sister saying she took two at a time when feeling overworked. I take the film-coated variety which are difficult (Superdrug) to find but I don't like the usual fizzy orange drink and mine are easier to take if cut in half (just an idea for your mother).
Snowmash, I do hope you're alright and just too busy to post.

cityhobgoblin · 08/04/2011 21:17

You are so helpful shodatin , many thanks . I didn't know you could get them in non fizzy form - better for teeth - & will pass on tips ( people do buy it for an energy boost , but I haven't it yet )

Hope pixie clan enjoy the weekend together

Yes,hope snowmash is busy rather than having a grim time. Perhaps she'd prefer some changes to the thread to adapt to her changing needs ?

< hob hopes her waffling isn't scaring of *snowmash >

cityhobgoblin · 08/04/2011 21:18

off , even Blush

ThisIsANiceCage · 08/04/2011 22:35

Hey there, sorry, grumpy today so just popping in briefly.

So glad good news about the thread's DCs, and that so many people have been enjoying sunshine.

snowmash special thoughts for you today, whatever you're up to.

shodatin · 08/04/2011 22:59

I do hope snowmash is ok, but sure it's not your posts scaring her off, hob. It's such a long time since I was in hospital, and not under the same circumstances as snowmash, I've just no idea at all what they might be doing, and days now since we heard from snowmash. Am happy to try changing the thread, if you've got any ideas?

(Just had a long delay here while sister Skyped from Africa, having missed each other earlier)

shodatin · 08/04/2011 23:25

Hello TIANC, missed your post earlier and sorry you've been "grumpy",
which I assume is similar to being unwell and a shame on such a super day.
Hope this weekend is easier, and for snowmash too, meanwhile goodnight all.

cityhobgoblin · 09/04/2011 01:12

Really sorry you've been fed up , TIANC . Good news indeed about the dc & hope their mothers have a chance to be taken care of themselves too .

You are very kind to reassure me , shodatin . Have been trying to think of any changes snowmash might like but am not very inspired - am sure everyone else will come come up with variations if needed .Hope snowmash will come and tell us what helps her, when she can.

Hope all have a very peaceful night & an optimistic start to the day

cityhobgoblin · 09/04/2011 11:14

Morning , everyone . Hope all slept well and have a chance to enjoy sunshine today .
Have found 2 empty birds' eggs this week ( safely hatched , not stolen / broken ) so am hoping our cyberbirds will be similarly successful.

madmouse · 09/04/2011 11:41

Hi all I'm back and all is well Smile

How is everyone?

I understand that snowmash has disappeared. Hope it is nothing to worry about. snowmash I hope you have not used your voluntary status to disappear straight away? Try to let us know what is going on xx

shodatin · 09/04/2011 11:51

Morning all - I always sleep well these days thankyou, after years on Temazepam I've forgotten what it's like to be awake and in bed.

Welcome back madmouse, glad all is well for little one.

Good news about birds'eggs hob, I rarely see any here as most of the birds are thuggish seagulls frightening off the songbirds, plus my neighbour has chopped down his crab-apple tree which I (and a blackbird) used to enjoy.

cityhobgoblin · 09/04/2011 21:57

Sorry so useless today - bit dozy again but very happy with sunshine , which I hope all had a taste of . Favourite pussycats were overjoyed with the warmth , so I'm sure our allergen free cats have been similarly flipping on our cyber patio.

Oh nooo shodatin about the crab apple. Such a shame when neighbours chop . This time last year Morrison's , Aldi & Lidl all did bargain crab apple saplings but I don't think they have them this year - no chance you could squeeze in a teeny sapling of some type , perhaps one that can be trained to grow against a wall , or a miniature one for containers? - to give you & blackbird that enjoyment back.
(sorry you need the tablets but glad if you get a reasonable night's sleep - please excuse my mentioning it but you might want to have extra fire alarm precautions as I know I can hear nothing when in such a sleep).

Hope pixie's throat is better today & madmouse TIANC and kizzie have had good days . Most of all, hope snowmash is OK , and not in any worrying situation .

shodatin · 09/04/2011 22:22

Hello hob, and thanks for commiseration re crab-apple - have been thinking of a small tree, but it would need middle of (only) border then create shade ,so am still at pondering stage.
No need for any sleeping tabs now; think brain must have become accustomed
over the years, which is strange but very convenient. Thanks for caution.

Glad you and cats enjoyed the sun (sure cybercats did too) and I 'm hoping snowmash was able to feel the benefit of lovely weather. Am pleased with my gardening efforts, and hope to sit and admire them tomorrow.

Have made a start on Friends' site - thanks for suggesting it.

ThisIsANiceCage · 09/04/2011 22:29

snowmash, do just say Hi when you can, won't you? We miss you.

madmouse hope mouseling's adjusting to his new, strange muscle uses, and hasn't lost much mobility, however temporarily.

hob what a lovely thing about the bird's eggs! Sounds like you've been incredibly busy - and with really important stuff. Thank you for everything you do on this. I should do more...

shodatin that's fab you managed to talk to your sister. I was already thinking "Is shodatin me?" at the Postponing Things Till After Tea, when I saw you have a DSis in Africa. Snap.Smile

Waves to kizzie and Pixie, hope you've been having good days.

madmouse · 09/04/2011 22:38

loss of mobility hob

let me see

an hour after we came home he climbed out of the back door 3 inches up 10/12 inches down

climbed up over and off the shelf under the coffee table

climbed on dh's lap while he sat on the floor

he hasn't stopped really....

Morning all - I remember thanking people for news last night - dog-tired - then off to bed, but must have forgotten to actually post message, as it's not here this morning, another elderly moment?
Lovely sunshine, and hope all can enjoy it.- snowmash, I hope you can contact us again soon; best wishes to you.

shodatin · 10/04/2011 10:07

Pixie, I had the throat and cough thing, and cleared it using herbs in small steamer, as noise was waking me every morning - good luck with it.
