We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

Tianc, I firmly believe everything is relative.

Question is if the Drs will let me go or put me on a 72 hour section.

ThisIsANiceCage · 01/04/2011 16:42

Sorry, I'm not making any sense today at all

You are making sense - iras trying to say you're not a wuss.

ThisIsANiceCage · 01/04/2011 17:53

Oh thank you, that was nice! Smile

Am still squashed by this week.

Wish I could do something helpful for you. Maybe that cake with the screwdrivers and file in, after all? Wink

Oh well remembered, Pixie!

Yes, he's just texted, and I've just started making a sausage casserole: there's still sunlight to be had in the kitchen, so it's an excuse to be that side of the house a bit longer! (With MN for the boring bits, obviously!)

I'm just mardy today. Please excuse me, all.

Hi all , was out longer than expected & there's such a lot to catch up on & magnificent advice for this difficult time.
If you have seen the doctor by now snowmash & a section has been put in place , we can try to see if we can help you with a couple of ideas so time doesn't just consist of fear of medication time Sad though that will hopefully ease pretty soon.

There are lots of ways we all would like to help , without intruding

Hope TIANC has an extended visit from shodatin' s Get Up and Go Fairy & feels better after awful squashing week . So pleased you ve been enjoying the cyber birds!

Have you had a good day, shodatin? You were feeling iffy this morning

Hope kizzie's week has gradually improved & that pixie and madmouse have a good weekend.

shodatin · 01/04/2011 22:21

Hello again hob, I was just wondering if you'd be able to drop in this evening, and thanks for enquiring about my day. A newish friend called with my birthday present, only a month early, which was a lovely surprise. I was just very slow getting brain in gear this morning, and a phone call with birthday greetings had me wondering about April Fool's Day and whether I'd forgotten
what day it was (just shortage of sleep, not Alzheimers after all...)

Also wondering about snowmash, and whether you managed to take the problematic drugs this evening?

snowmash · 01/04/2011 22:34

I have a 72 hour section, I think they will do a mental health assessment at some point during it :(

madmouse · 01/04/2011 22:44

I'm sorry that it upset you snowmash but I would be worried sick at the thought of you being out of hospital right now x

snowmash · 01/04/2011 22:48

I'm worried sick about possibly having to wait til monday with no idea what's happening.

I think they're hoping that if you take the meds in the next 72 hours they won't have to do anything more drastic or even extend the section in some way.. Please don't be worrying about what might happen on Monday, could you use this time to find out more about the meds and then see how you feel about taking them? As far as I know, taking them last night didn't cause you any problems but not taking them today has caused you so much more stress plus a whole weekend of worrying ahead.

Hope you have a peaceful night snowmash, and everyone else.

snowmash · 02/04/2011 07:46

Morning all. Hope everyone else slept well

cityhobgoblin · 02/04/2011 08:18

Morning , all . snowmash, I know you absolutely don't want to be on a longer section but you need to ask directly today what the staff require you to be able to do regularly - or if they could possibly agree to TIANC' s idea of using shorter sections to get you over the hardest periods - unfortunately it may not be legal for them to do that , or not considered good practice by thehealth authority or something.

The doctors sound more respectful of patients' wishes than many , where very "aggressive" use of antipsychotics is considered the sensible course.
( am keeping in mind your firm belief that everything is relative and that the meds are hateful to you currently)

Hope you weren't awake for hours worrying Sad. Please try to use the section time to help yourself in the ways shodatin and others suggest - it really is vital at this point that you feel a bit safer and calmer if you are kept in a bit longer... so, please look again at the good ideas people have ccome up with the last day or two & try to ask more about meds and plan to ask for pastoral care

Glad there was a nice reason for your confusion yesterday morning ,shodatin ! Alzheimer's indeed...quite sunny here , so hope same for you.

Hope not feeling too mardy this morning , TIANC ! ... a fine word , obscure & exotic to we (us?) southerners ..Mark E Smith is mardy , isn't he? where might I have heard the phrase "mardy - arsed " , if you'll excuse my indelicacy ?

Very positive day to all .

cityhobgoblin · 02/04/2011 08:19

Good to see you snowmash. Good night , thank you - I fear you won't have slept much .
Thinking of you

cityhobgoblin · 02/04/2011 08:32

< ahem > Wasn't suggesting I agree with your harsh self - assessment there , TIANC! foot in mouth as usual

snowmash · 02/04/2011 09:18

No I didn't hob - can't get any guidance on what they want to see happen. :(

A walk would be great right now ;)

shodatin · 02/04/2011 10:32

Morning all, although not a very nice-looking morning here. Sorry no walk available at present snowmash, and I think it's part of the take-the-meds deal, which seems to be at an impasse. What they want to see happen is simply for you to take the drugs prescribed and recover.
As it's you-against-the-hospital staff right now, I think you could use some help, so why not consider asking clergy for ideas?

Hope everyone has a good day, and that everyone,s health improves.
Am starting with TIANC's suggested Brew - hope you're able to join in again very soon.

shodatin · 02/04/2011 10:36

I can well remember when I first heard "mardy" used, aged eight, and can't remember any times after that, so it was not too popular in my part of Yorks, but I might well adopt "mardy-arsed"

shodatin · 02/04/2011 17:27

I seem to have killed off this thread with my new rude word, which would be a great shame as I do want to know how everyone's doing, particularly snowmash who's having a difficult time and TIANC who is being brave while not feeling well. Hope everyone's just being busy having fun (while I'm doing boring stuff sprucing up house, garden and self.)

Wishing you a tasty tea snowmash - do you have special menus at weekends?
