We filled up your thread, snowmash! So here's another one.

Neither weather nor circumstance seems to be cooperating at the moment, so I thought we could do with a virtual garden to sit out in.

shodatin has started work already:
"we don't lose anything to the frost here, and nobody thieves our daffs and precious bay trees. Most days will be sunny I think, but sometimes we have rain at night, particularly when we've done some planting..."

And I think it needs a summer house with a chiminea or the like to sit round after dark and toast our tootsies.

Sorry about lack of sleep, snowmash. Hope you get the chance to nap today.

Lurve the cyber squirrels, hob. Hope they're as well behaved as the cyber cats: decorative rather than destructive.

Just been pottering v slowly in sunshine here. Think a gentle, gentle day is indicated,
here with a Biscuit beneath the bough,
a flask of Brew, a screen of MN - and Thou (what's plural?).

You're right to take things easy today TIANC, I had a lovely sunny afternoon here, gardening with Thai friend (who brings me food) and introducing her to shandy as we rested in sheltered corner near wallflowers. Sorry squirrels have taken birds' food, hob, and hope they can now find enough wild meals. I don't know how to stop them stealing, and must admit when I've watched them tightrope-walking to get to food, they do deserve a reward. Cyber variety are probably less trouble though.

Hope snowmush managed to get outside this afternoon in sunshine, with maybe a little nap to catch up on sleep?

cityhobgoblin · 28/03/2011 18:54

Grin Grin what pleasing accounts of your afternoons , shodatin and TIANC. Hopefully snowmash will have enjoyed them upon waking from a lovely nap. Hope you have a tasty tea too (I feel odd wishing these for you snowmash , in case you've been able to get neither ).

I haven't achieved much today as I keep falling fast asleep :-) and feel mighty fine now - very glad you've been able to enjoy your gentle day TIANC.

Loved your wallflowers, friend and gardening afternoon shodatin - but if you don't know how to stop the squirrel's antics, I give up right now...(was very impressed with your DH & the coconut half).
Very excited that my cybersquirrel might be allowed in!
Hope pixie and kizzie having good days .

snowmash · 28/03/2011 19:34

I napped this pm.

Enjoying reading the posts now :) trying not to think about tomorrow :(

Enjoying outside too :)

snowmash · 28/03/2011 19:37

I don't have the funds unfortunately shodatin - I think everyone who was up was kept so by the tension in the air.

Hopefully tonight will be quieter.

shodatin · 28/03/2011 20:42

Just an idea about alternative safe place to stay, snowmash, if you could think of way of organising money, it seems the rainy day is here. Glad you were able to rest today, and it occurs to me that who-ever was up last night will be too tired for a repeat performance, I do hope so.

Is it the consultant's interview worrying you about tomorrow?
Would it help to chat to the nurse who was talking yesterday?

snowmash · 28/03/2011 21:19

No, unfortunately it is someone who has highs/'mania'/bipolar.

Still, I'm hoping for peace.

I'm not stressing about ward round til tomorrow, and have talked with two staff who say I'm not evil.

shodatin · 28/03/2011 22:00

I'm really pleased you're understanding that you're not evil, and actually nobody at all thinks you are, its being depressed that makes one think these things. You're right not to worry about the consultant today, and there's probably nothing to worry about tomorrow. I'm sure the two nurses will be able to explain other things to you as time goes on, and life will get easier in time. I hope you all have a peaceul night (maybe the bipolar patient was not taking her tablets yesterday!)

snowmash · 28/03/2011 22:23

No, they say I'm not evil, and I can't prove it. Hopefully people will keep talking to me though.

Hope everyone sleeps well, got an hour to go here.

ThisIsANiceCage · 28/03/2011 22:54

Really glad you have people there who realise you're not evil, and can keep telling you so. Don't know about you, but I need to keep being told stuff otherwise I can't quite believe it.

Glad you got outside today - wasn't it glorious!

Excellent about nap and trying not to worry in advance snowmash. Very strong of you to allow your belief / opinion to be so strongly challenged and to "sit with the uncertainty" or whatever the phrase is . I'm sure we're all just so glad you've sought out staff several times to talk this over, & I hope you get constructive responses.

Fingers crossed for quiet night and good day tomorrow.

Sleep well shodatin , ( btw one of your posts last week inspired me to get cornflower & extra poppy seeds ) and everyone - hope all well with pixie

shodatin · 28/03/2011 23:44

Hello Pixie, glad you enjoyed the sun. I live near the coast, but it gets very crowded when sunny, no parking etc as everyone wants to be there.

Glad you got the seeds hob - they're good flowers for picking all summer, don't need constant watering like more exotic types and enough for every small visitor to take a handful home.

Hope all is quiet and settled for the night now snowmash; goodnight all.

snowmash · 28/03/2011 23:50

Finally saying night properly (yawning and quiet :) )

ThisIsANiceCage · 28/03/2011 23:56

Night, snowmash, hope you sleep well. Wishing you a good ward round tomorrow.

That sounds like my signal for bed, too.

snowmash · 29/03/2011 08:11

Morning all. Quieter night thankfully.

Anyone up to anything today?

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2011 09:35

Morning snowmash! & all! So pleased you got some rest , & also that you were able to get outside a bit the last day or two. Really hope today goes OK.

Oh yes , a couple of days ago I forgot to reply when you said you were sorry you couldn't be more effusive but time & phone made it difficult - I was really struck by that - I'm sure we're all happy you are motivated to chat at all, & you take great interest in people & make a lot of effort to keep us up to date on your daily life .

As for plans...builders left remains of old porch in front garden for us to dispose of, so I'm trying to move a bit of that or the letting agent will complain the garden is untidy! (I know we could ask them to move it, but need some repairs etc so won't use up their "goodwill").

Will enjoy looking out onto the allotments as I do that - a few of the retired allotment holders have been working out there for ages already.

Hope everyone has a bit more energy this morning than they expected.

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2011 09:46

Ah, thanks shodatin , yes , I love flowers that can survive my erratic watering and what a lovely thought, little ones clutching a handful per visit...a lovely contrast to the little angels who chuck their sweetie wrappers all over our garden / pull big bits off plants etc Grin. ( not blaming them, I reckon they're seeking attention from their parents who are showing off to each other outside the school gates here)

shodatin · 29/03/2011 10:08

Morning all, so glad you had a better night snowmash, doesn't it make a difference. Hope you can have a useful talk with consultant today and maybe get some good news.
Let's hope we have another dry day for outside stuff, hob. Clearing stuff is so worthwhile; you can really make a difference just doing it the once. Do remember the rest periods (and do stop nagging adults about food and rest -
memo to self)
I have to go out this morning, errands and bit of shopping, nothing interesting, but will be back this afternoon. Having more energy than expected is a lovely thought, so many thanks hob, hope you're right for today.

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2011 11:54

{grin} thanks shodatin - really appreciate being "nagged" as sensible things tend to slip when I'm trying to do too much then napping as a result...( I know how lucky I am to still be able to do these tasks , so I really enjoy them ) Still dry here, thanks , & I hope you have some fun whilst doing your errands .

Sending good thoughts to snowmash in case of stressful morning

Hi snowmash wondering how you are and what was said today - come and tell us when you're ready.

Been to hospital this morning as ds is having botox injections in his arm next week under GA and he had pre-op checks today. Interesting when a 3 year old is too young to understand what is going on but old enough to think it is a good idea to wail in self defence as soon as a health care professional appears...no one hurt him today - nothing worse than having his chest listened to and being weighed but you'd think otherwise!!! Gonna be fun next week!

After that we had a nice pizza though Smile

cityhobgoblin · 29/03/2011 17:05

Hi pixie, TIANC and madmouse. Aquababes sounds lovely, if very noisy !
Poor little mouse, or rather, his poor Mum . Hopefully he won't be so nervous of the staff next week
Hope you have a good evening if you've had a hard day, TIANC
and hope you're not feeling too bad, snowmash

shodatin · 29/03/2011 17:22

Hope you're OK TIANC, and have more energy again very soon. Hope DS is now recovered madmouse, it was obviously stressful for him but hopefully he won't mind too much next week (I never minded GAs, only being awake)

Been thinking of you this afternoon, snowmash - hope all went well with consultant and rest of staff.
