It's my fault that the NHS is too expensive

Hey there, sorry been off-line all day.

Just popping in to say goodnight. Sorry the ward is so uncomfortably hot, snowmash. Hope you manage to get some rest even if you don't sleep through.

And same to all. Night night.

shodatin · 27/02/2011 10:45

Morning all.
Hope you had a good rest snowmash, if not a good sleep. Next time you're worrying about NHS costs, remember the radiators!
Hi TIANC, hope all is well in and around the cage.
And here the sun is shining and we are one day closer to Spring.

snowmash · 27/02/2011 10:57

Morning all. I hope you all have great days and sun. Didn't sleep last night apparently but also no phOne batt.

Hi Pixie, hope you and twins had a good night.
Snowmash, so sorry you're having sleep problems there.
Would it be easier in a different part of the ward?
And yes, you do need your phone for outside contact
(otherwise we'd worry)

ThisIsANiceCage · 27/02/2011 13:58

Hey there. Good to see you all.

All v good here, thanks shodatin - we ended up napping much of yesterday, as we're lazy buggers! What's your sewing project, if it's not too nosy to ask?

Sorry you didn't get much sleep again last night, showmash. I'm with you in not being able to sleep when too hot.

shodatin · 27/02/2011 14:15

Glad you had a rest yesterday TIANC, hope everyone manages some time off, altho I still find it easiest on Sundays.
There are actually two sewing projects going on here, sometimes I wait for inspiration/putting iron on/remembering I started it etc but am currently making a "tidy" for last summer's handbag (still fashionable enough for me this summer)because stuff was rolling about in the bottom and generally bit of a lucky dip, plus also started a sandwich container/wrapper to match a lidded mug I was given, just because I liked the design.
Does anyone else do crafty things?

Thinking of sandwiches reminds me: Snowmash, I hope you managed to have some Sunday lunch? And that it was hot enough.

madmouse · 27/02/2011 16:01

Hi all

Sorry didn't check in yesterday - was not a good day and I didn't want to come here with my low mood. Not too bad today.

Snowmash ridiculous that your food isn't hot enough but the radiators keep you from sleeping!

Hope you are doing ok, managing to take your meds and get some food down.

ThisIsANiceCage · 27/02/2011 16:08

Oh madmouse. Sad So sorry yesterday was a bad one.

madmouse · 27/02/2011 16:12

It's ok TIANC just still happens sometimes.

snowmash · 27/02/2011 17:28

Hugs madmouse sorry to hear yesterday was sO hard :( please don't feel you should avoid this thread for that.

They charge my phone every day - just that I hadn't given it in until late.

Pork fir lunch. Sleep issues were family as well as heat (and I refused meds for a few hours... Hope I won't get too much trouble from consultant about it, though I probably should).

Sewing sounds good!

OP posts:
madmouse · 27/02/2011 18:29

Thanks snowmash very sweet to say that - but this thread is about you and I felt I had nothing to offer you.

I'm pleased they are good about charging your phone.

Why do you think the consultant should be cross with you? You are not a little child people should be cross with for being naughty!!

But please do try to take your meds - they are your key for getting out. Hard to see it now but once they kick in you will see things differently and be able to come out.

snowmash · 27/02/2011 19:12

It's selfish really - like to hear about other people 'outside'.

Is disappointed a better word than cross? I feel I should have worked out why I am here & what the doctors wanted me to work out.

I am a little sad I dont deserve to be allowed in the grounds even with staff.

Another week tomorrow :( I vote for no more blood tests.

Hope everyone who'shavibg to prepare for tOmorrow is doing ok...

OP posts:
shodatin · 27/02/2011 20:26

Hope you ate enough pork at lunchtime, and more food this evening, because you have to eat to get well, and you are doing so much better with the food.
Don't worry yourself about working things out right now, you didn't get into this condition overnight Snowmash, so you will need time to get well again and figure things out.
They don't give access to the grounds to people who deserve it, just to the ones who are well enough, so you'll be one of the lucky ones eventually.

ThisIsANiceCage · 27/02/2011 21:21

Right, that's DP packed off for the week, poor lad. He works so hard... and I sit on the sofa MNetting. Grin

snowmash - snap with the pork today! We had this MN pork casserole tonight. And you've inspired me with mention earlier of tuna bakes, now planning one of those for later this week.

shodatin, wow, really impressed at your craft projects. I'm completely cack-handed, and feel proud at successfully sewing-machining ripped pyjamas or making bobbly darns in a cardigan. So people who can make actual stuff leave me awestruck: it's like you have a superpower! (Like people who can hit tennis balls - HOW do they do it?!)

madmouse · 27/02/2011 21:35

The doctors don't want you to work anything out - it is not a test you have to pass before you can leave. There is a need ot protect you and keep you safe until you can do it yourself again.

If I'm honest Snowmash reading your posts and talking to you over the last few weeks before your admission was like watching a train crash in slow motion - we had conversations before where (for want of a better word) you were totally lucid, now you slowly began to sound more and more confused and harder to reach.

None of that is your fault - it's your illness talking. But what I want to say with this is that I understand why the doctors are keeping you in - because I share their concerns and I know the others do too.

Thanks Pixie, hope you have a peaceful night.

Good night to everyone else, I'm off too.

ThisIsANiceCage · 28/02/2011 01:06

Night all. Hope everyone gets some rest. Pixie, good luck for your busy Monday!

shodatin · 28/02/2011 09:43

Good morning all, and welcome to Murky Monday.
Best wishes to Pixie, hope madmouse is feeling good again and I hope its a good day all round for snowmash- it's another day closer to home anyway.

I have to go out, but back later today I hope.

ThisIsANiceCage · 28/02/2011 12:40

Hey there. Hope everyone got some rest.

You're not joking about the weather, shodatin. We've done winter, it should get over itself and let spring have a go.

ThisIsANiceCage · 28/02/2011 12:42
shodatin · 28/02/2011 15:55

I was hoping to see some sun, but have just been told to expect a frost tonight, and it was certainly cold enough outside. Glad we have radiators, even though some stay hot overnight.

Hope you've caught up on your sleep again snowmash, and that you managed to eat some lunch.
Must be about time for another Brew TIANC?

snowmash · 28/02/2011 16:21

Brew sounds good TiAnc. Hope everyone else isn't too chilly. I'm actually glad it's cold (because of the heating).

OP posts:
ThisIsANiceCage · 28/02/2011 16:39

It's always time for another cup of Brew! Grin

Frost you say? My poor optimistic little buds. But that's a great silver lining if snowmash gets some sleep because of it! (Have hospital designers never heard of thermostats? Sigh.)
