It's my fault that the NHS is too expensive

I hope the anit-ds start working soon too, you will feel so much better when you're back to normal with these, and more able to take all these stressful little miseries in your stride. It is something to look forward to, although I don't know how long yours will take. It's true, you are being brave.

ThisIsANiceCage · 25/02/2011 23:16

Early bed for me. Hope everyone gets some decent rest. Well done all of us for getting through another day.

snowmash · 25/02/2011 23:36

Night all. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great/thought-provoking posts -can't always respond due to phone, but value them all.

Night all, sweet dreams. Yes, well done to all of us, and particularly to snowmash, now coping brilliantly with hospital toilets and hospital food.

snowmash · 26/02/2011 09:10

Morning all. Hope everyone has good days.

Morning snowmash, hope today's an improvement for you.
Do you have anything planned?

shodatin · 26/02/2011 12:49

Hope you manage a good lunch. Mine's tasty (cheese, onion and tom toastie) but more of a snack today.
I'd probably eat more if someone else was cooking it, but can't persuade anyone today.

Bob appetit anyway.

shodatin · 26/02/2011 12:50

That's bon appetit, don't know how Bob got in there

snowmash · 26/02/2011 13:30

Toasties sound good. Tuna pasta bake here. Plans are to try to understand why people think what they think (and sleep at some point - radiators boiling here so not much luck at night ).

Had first lot of foul tasting liquid antidepressants last night. Anyone else got any plans?

Hi snowmash - absolutely chucking it down here.
Hope you manage to get some rest/sleep.
You are doing so brilliantly getting through the days. Every one is one step closer to things being ok x

shodatin · 26/02/2011 14:09

Shame about the radiators, so I hope you can get a nap at some time. That place sounds more uncomfortable every day! With any luck, you'll soon be off the liquid meds, hope so anyway.

I had lots of plans this morning, involving making a start on some DIY in the garage so someone else can do stage two on Monday, but it's just not warm enough.
Rain seeps onto floor near the bench, so it's cold on the toes plus I don't want to risk using electrical equipment. Plan A is postponed, and am thinking of postponing Plan B too, which is to clear desk and do massive filing exercise before computer mentor comes to fix things. (Need a guilty emoticon here)

ThisIsANiceCage · 26/02/2011 15:01

Art'noon. Good to see everyone.

Our plans are... to do as little as possible today! DP's been incredibly busy and will need to do a bit of work this weekend, but around that we plan to slump in front of slushy telly and ignore the vile weather.

shodatin · 26/02/2011 15:24

Hello TIANC - sounds like a sensible plan while it's raining outside (tis here anyway).
Now I've cleared part of desk/table, I find I've made room to lay out my next sewing project, which was not actually planned for today but far more interesting than continuing clearance.
I'd planned to watch TV for an hour, but forgot about time, one of the disadvantages of living alone.
Have you managed a sleep snowmash, or do you have visitors? (Remembering exhaustion at weekends).

snowmash · 26/02/2011 17:46

I got an hour and a half sleep thanks - not doing much at all in a home environment sounds like a good plan. I feel really anxious re meds

OP posts:
snowmash · 26/02/2011 19:22

And can't remember exactly why detained :(

OP posts:
shodatin · 26/02/2011 19:23

Is it because they're unpleasant to take, or are you still worrying about the cost of the meds?
Glad you managed some sleep by the way.

snowmash · 26/02/2011 19:24

They are too expensive so I shouldn't be taking them.

OP posts:
shodatin · 26/02/2011 19:27

I believe they kept you in because you were making yourself ill by not taking the meds and not eating enough, but I don't remember you telling us any more.
Is there a sympathetic nurse there who would be willing to discuss it in a way you could accept?

snowmash · 26/02/2011 19:55

My head is making lots of conflicting stuff. I have been talking to the nurses. I think one of the reasons was safety, but that's difficult to understand.

OP posts:
shodatin · 26/02/2011 20:21

It's your own safety at risk snowmash, because they do want you to survive and you were not going the right way about it, remember what the consultant said about your blood results? And how many of the awful tests you had to have, because you were so ill by the time you got there?
The conflicting thoughts might be between not taking the meds because of the cost, and needing to take them to get well again and be able to leave. The fact is that the doctors, psychiatrists and nurses have all decided, along with us mnetters, that you should be taking them and you should be eating too, because we want you to get well.
And I'm sorry they taste bad too.

shodatin · 26/02/2011 22:53

Hope you managed to have a meal this evening snowmash, as well as another dose of the liquid medicine. You will soon be feeling better now you're back on the anti-ds, just takes time.

Time to say goodnight I think, sleep well.
