Two days of no fasting. Really didn’t want breakfast yesterday but we always have smoked Salmon and cream cheese bagels on Christmas Day so I had half . Had Christmas turkey around 4 and small piece of tiramisu plus lots of champagne. Went to bed at 1am then breakfast was made for us as stayed with family so I couldn’t really say no. Today have had a big walk and then salmon with roast potatoes and salad just now. Very tired and not drinking today. Tomorrow will be normal then a party at home on Saturday for the other side of the family. Really not feeling it but will hopefully get my arse in gear tomorrow after a booze free sleep!

I have eaten and drank way too much!! Will be desperate to get back to fasting and healthy eating soon…

Rollergirl11 · 26/12/2024 20:11

I know the feeling @jumpintheline. I actually can’t stand feeling stuffed and bloated now and it doesn’t take much nowadays to feel that way.

We are going away for a few nights with family tomorrow and whilst I am looking forward to seeing everyone I’m kind of dreading the sheer amount of food I will inevitably be consuming. Hotel breakfasts and dinner out will make fasting very difficult. Will try and compensate where I can.

greengreyblue · 27/12/2024 09:26

Hi everyone. So was 59.5kg on Christmas Eve and this morning 61.1. To be expected. Today I am back on skipping breakfast. I think yesterday was the first alcohol free Boxing Day in all my adult life! Got food to buy and prep for tomorrow’s gathering but will stick to OMAD for that but drinks will be consumed! Enjoy the rest of the festivities.🌲

Hi all! I have well and truly fallen off the wagon and eaten a ridiculous amount over the past week. I've just started my 16 hour fasting clock so aiming to not eat til 1045am tomorrow at the earliest. I'll also weigh myself in the morning... 😳

Ilikeyoursleeves · 28/12/2024 12:52

I managed an 18 hour fast and could've gone for longer but DH has just made me my lunch (tuna on toast). Weighed myself this morn and I've put on 1.5lb in a week which isn't a huge surprise given what I've been eating over Xmas and not fasting.

How's everyone else getting on? What's the longest fast you've ever done?

Rollergirl11 · 28/12/2024 14:51

We are away with family for a few nights. Yesterday was pretty much normal other than eating window finishing slightly later. But this morning I had breakfast at our hotel so no fasting. Trying to compensate by skipping lunch and not eating until this evening when we are out for dinner. I already feel hungry though so just shows how eating spikes your hunger response quicker then when you don’t. I can usually go 6 + hours from waking till eating without issue yet I’ve had a sizeable breakfast and still feel really hungry just 4 hours later.

I was back to 9st 6 yesterday morning so hoping to get away with just 1 or 2 lb increase over the next few days and will then be back to my usual routine for the beginning of the week.

Cashew1 · 28/12/2024 18:13

Not religiously tracking fasting time but skipped breakfast and a healthy lunch of leftover veg soup. Dinner will be aubergine pasta.

jumpintheline · 28/12/2024 21:02

Still skipping breakfast so probably averaging 15-16 hour fasts, but not the healthiest diet still. Lots of family get togethers with lots of unhealthy food and alcohol. I feel bloated and my belly and boobs feel bigger which I do NOT like. Really want to get this weight off asap - but have a few days with the in-laws to get through next week so more calorific food on offer!

GameOfJones · 28/12/2024 21:39

Hello all, checking in to say I'm still here but meals have been a bit all over the place. I'm cutting back where I can e.g. I had some prosecco at a friend's house today but stopped by 7pm and asked for a black coffee instead. I've no idea what's happened weight wise as I'm too scared to get on the scales but I will do soon. I'm still logging my fasting time in my app to keep me in the habit.

I've also signed up to start a weekly yoga class in the New Year as more stretching and improving my flexibility is my New Year's Resolution.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 28/12/2024 23:06

Managed to avoid the Toffifees and Quality Streets tonight and all the crisps my kids were eating, last ate at 615pm so going to bed now and will try again for an 18 hour fast tomo if I can. Seems easier when I'm not at work!

greengreyblue · 29/12/2024 09:38

Sounds like we’ve been using the flexibility well to navigate our way through the food maze that is Christmas We had about family party yesterday and I managed an OMAD of sorts. Started eating around 4 properly but did taste a few tiny bits while preparing beforehand. Had dessert too and lots of Prosecco but stopped sooner and had a few pints of water.

Managed a 19 hour fast today! Breaking it now with a really delicious quiche and salad 😋

jumpintheline · 29/12/2024 20:49

@GameOfJones i have a similar aim - also keen to do more yoga this year - not going to be hard to increase year on year as have done so little this year. Really miss it for many reasons.

did a 17 fast and broke it today with some pate on toast for lunch, and a bit of goats cheese. Oh had a decent piece of homemade Christmas cake after that so not ideal! And homemade shepherds pie with cavolo nero for dinner. So good. Had a thin G&T earlier and very small glass of white wine. An improvement on previous days!

greengreyblue · 30/12/2024 09:22

Just had a weigh and still 61.1 after party and leftovers from that yesterday so not bad (1.5lb over target but was below 60kg on 24/12 so wan to get back there in January. Didn’t drink yesterday and slept so well. Taking adult DD home today so back to normality .

Just weighed and bang on TW of 9st 7 so just 1lb up from what I was on Xmas eve. I’ll take that though and back to usual 18:6 from today.

I’ve just ordered a dress in the sales for a big swanky party I have at the end of January. Really wasn’t sure what size to get so got a 10 and a 12 and will send one back. Will be interesting to see which one fits!

Hope everyone has survived the Xmas period and is looking forward to some more structured eating!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 30/12/2024 11:30

I ended up eating a bag of Doritos last night around 1030pm cos I was soooo hungry but at least it was a single bag and not a family one which I can easily get through on my own! Not eating til lunch today, it's not technically a fast but still less than I would usually graze on at night and not had breakfast this morn

Cashew1 · 30/12/2024 16:44

18.5 hour fast

Udon noodles for lunch
Will be halloumi roasted vegetables for dinner
A snack of some cottage cheese shortly I think!

greengreyblue · 30/12/2024 20:43

20 hr fast
lunch: smashed avo on sourdough toast with small poached egg.
dinner: 2 rice cakes with Boursin cheese, sliced pepper and an apple.

jumpintheline · 30/12/2024 21:59

17 hour fast, jacket potato with tuna mayo for lunch. Had a bit more Christmas cake snack… for dinner have had some pate on toast. Also had a nice big walk with the kids in the park!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 30/12/2024 22:12

@greengreyblue are you not starving having eaten that??

Today I've had hummus, taramasalata with pitta, cucumber and carrots for lunch.

Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and fudge mid afternoon 😳🤣

Dinner was homemade chicken curry followed by some choc pannetone.

Not eaten since 615pm and going to bed soon!

Down 0.3kg this morning. Was a busy day yesterday of driving and walking having taken out DD home to London. Have to say @Ilikeyoursleeves the avo toast was large and delish and drizzled in very good olive oil in a fancy London cafe so not too virtuous calorie wise. Some days I eat less, some I eat more. Felt good to eat less yesterday.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 31/12/2024 13:41

Sounds lovely @greengreyblue!

I've managed another 19 hour fast hooray! Just had a delicious homemade salad with apple, walnuts, stilron, croutons, hummus, pitta and there may also have been a pork pie and some mini sausages in it but hey I've just fasted for 19 hours 🤣 Now having a cuppa and a few squares of chocolate. I tend to eat normally between fasting and the weight steadily comes off so I'm not being too strict!

greengreyblue · 31/12/2024 17:12

You’re very lucky @Ilikeyoursleeves to be able to lose just through fasting. Your salad sounds lush and I had Stilton in mine too. Yum.
I only did a 17 hr fast today as are late last night.
lunch: chopped salad with some Stilton and a few cold roast potatoes.
lots of walking again today.
dinner will be Waitrose sushi and some fizz. Having a quiet NYE at home after having a busy household for a week. Happy new year all and looking forward to a slimmer and healthier 2025!🥂
