🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳I’ve made it to my target!
SW: 10st 6 End of June
TW & CW : 9st 7
Will probably be a whole stone this week. After so many plateaus it’s finally dropped steadily the last few weeks. Keep on keeping on! This is my best Christmas present to myself I think, just got to be vigilant over Christmas and not go overboard on more than a couple of days.

Congratulations!! How long did it take? It's slow and steady on IF

Apologies, I see the June reference now! Such great news, well done

jumpintheline · 08/12/2024 09:23

Congratulations and well done @greengreyblue !

Similar weight loss to me and I started the same time as you. I need to weigh in though and have a suspicion I’ll have gained since last weigh.. waiting until after my period for a more accurate check.

greengreyblue · 08/12/2024 09:36

Thanks guys and for the support on here as it’s really helped. Just writing down what I’m eating gave me a focus. Plus knowing it was slow for everyone . Have lost similar on 5:2 but that wasn’t sustainable even when you switch to 6:1 the balance is wrong whereas this feels like a way of eating for life and I feel I can continue and use the flexibility to navigate the inevitable high days and holidays.

Well done @greengreyblue!! You must be so pleased and as you say best Xmas present to yourself!

I have been fluctuating a fair bit the last week but weighed this morning and thankfully back at the top end of 9st 8. Taking that as a win given that had 3 course meal on Friday night. Am going to aim to be mindful over Xmas and will go with the mindset of trying to maintain rather than lose. We are meeting up with family and staying in a hotel on the 28th and 29th which will almost certainly mean I won’t be able to skip breakfast and we will be going out for dinner also so will just have to hope for the best!

greengreyblue · 08/12/2024 09:58

Definitely a good maintain there @Rollergirl11 . Life is to be enjoyed and this is so flexible that we know what to do come January should things have gone a bit awry. I now dislike feeling stuffed and get there much quicker so even if you do have a hotel breakfast etc you will probably find you eat less or skip lunch so it all evens out. Even if you don’t , it’s not every day.

22.5 hour fast

Just homemade broccoli soup with cottage cheese and crackers so far and a nakd bar

May keep it to omad or have a snack later. Hoping to kick start a bit of a loss.

GameOfJones · 09/12/2024 08:08

Well done on making it to target @greengreyblue!

Not a great food weekend for me, but some decent fasts of 23 hours and 19 hours. We shall see what the scales say later in the week.

Cashew1 · 09/12/2024 17:32

16 hour fast

Overnight oats
Curry udon noodles

TennisToday · 09/12/2024 20:13

@greengreyblue well done!!! That’s an amazing achievement

TennisToday · 09/12/2024 20:21

Hi all and thanks for the new thread. Keeping an eye on everyone’s journey.
@GameOfJones sounds like you have done some good days but I also find weekends harder.
23 hours today and managed to keep to green tea till 18 hours in and then only the smallest dash of milk.

Managed to lose 2lbs so feeling good about this.

Bloody Christmas chocolates is a challenge!!!

jumpintheline · 11/12/2024 15:59

Great news on being another 2lbs down @TennisToday

How's everyone getting on?

I've fasted straight through my cycle this month - no break for my period. Haven't felt the need, although have DEFINITELY been more relaxed with diet in my eating window! Once my period has gone I'll weigh in and assess the damage.

17 hour fast today then leftover veggie ramen with wholewheat noodles for lunch. Have had a mince pie and some chocolate since then... Got a lentil chili pot thing for dinner.

Cashew1 · 11/12/2024 17:39

Horrible cold so very relaxed approach to fasting! Hope to be better soon and back on it

greengreyblue · 11/12/2024 18:30

Hi all, got a sore throat and sneezing. Surrounded by coughs and colds at school so was bound to happen. Hasn’t affected my appetite thankfully so just carrying on.
18 hr fast
lunch: chicken salad, apple
dinner: penne chicken arrabiata
Well done on the loss @TennisToday , great to see the numbers tumble.

GameOfJones · 11/12/2024 19:11

A 22 hour fast today. I'm not weighing this week as I have my period and the associated bloating so I'll weigh in next week.

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 11/12/2024 21:11

Hi all. Sorry I've been elusive. But just caught up and I am so pleased for everyone who has seen significant losses and.... reached their goal weight @greengreyblue Well done!!

After a not great oct/Nov I was pleased to start December only slightly up on my previous low (81 vs 80.2). I've now been back at 80.2 for almost a week. I just can't seem to get past that point, but there's none of my usual fluctuations which is weird but nice. I am really hoping to finally drop below 80 by the end of the week if I can carry on as I am.

After November when i really did struggle to properly fast, I've made a change - I just could not cope with not having a coffee until 12 and it was very distracting which was a problem for work. So now I have a coffee at around 9:30/10. I use milk, but I try to be as stingy as possible, and I use sweetener instead of sugar - I cetainly wouldn't get a flat white or something at Costa. I know it's not entirely what we're supposed to do but I have been working on some quite cerebral pieces of work and it was just too difficult to sit at my computer and focus. And on plus side, it certainly isn't doing any harm and since I've started it I've had absolutely no problem going 16-18 hours with no food. So... we shall see.

Also made an appointment with GP to review HRT. As is so often the case with thes things, the very act of making the appointment has made me feel better (I was sobbing while writing the email which I guess is a sign it was the right thing to do! Grin) but I think it COULD also be that I've been fasting (barring that coffee) properly for the last 10 days. Also things have been a bit less stressful in other ways so that's probably helping too. it got quite tough there for a while so I'm just really pleased that I didn't pile on the pounds while being stressed, unhappy, busy etc.

GameOfJones · 12/12/2024 07:30

@IdLikeToBeAFraser it's lovely to see you back. I'm sorry things have been stressful but it sounds like you are on the right track.

For me, fasting times have continued to be fine but food choices have been less than ideal. I'm finding the element of fasting for at least 16 hours and often more absolutely fine but have been struggling not to reach for high fat items in my eating window. Christmas food doesn't help and neither does the stress at work. I'm not piling the pounds back on either, which is a plus but if I want to actually lose weight I'm going to need to re focus. It's a tricky time of year isn't it!

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 12/12/2024 09:01

@GameOfJones I'm definitely trying to be sensible on food choices too but I just can't focus on that obsessively as I think that will cause me to give up. I was feeling really despondent a couple of weeks ago but then I realised that I've never ever previously lost weight then, when things got a bit tough, NOT piled it back on. And that's what's happening here - yes, I can't always lose but when it's not going "well" I'm not instantly gaining it all back. I have to take that win and I think you should too! When you consider that post DD's birth when the PCOS came roaring back I gained something like 10kg in a month..... well, this is pretty revolutionary to me.

jumpintheline · 12/12/2024 20:20

@GameOfJones i can strongly relate. But I’m also going easy on myself. I feel this is the time of year to go a bit easy on yourself.

@IdLikeToBeAFraser sending hugs xx hope you’re alright. And hope your GP is supportive and helpful.

greengreyblue · 13/12/2024 07:04

Morning all, happy Friday!
@IdLikeToBeAFraser nice to hear from you. Sounds like you’ve set some good new habits to help you cope even in the harder times- that’s a win. Hope things improve for you in all areas.
I’ve maintained TW but have Christmas do tonight. Can’t do OMAD when I’m up at 6 and have back to back nativities to put on today. I’ve got a salad with protein to get me through until 7.30/8. 😉

OP posts:
greengreyblue · 14/12/2024 09:45

Navigated the Christmas work meal. Had a veggie tart starter and salmon main course, neither of which were generous so all good. Had ordered a pudding ( was included but not wanted) so gave it away. Decided to drive as was a horrible night and pub in middle of nowhere so only one G&T and table water . Was a sedate night as you can imagine .😂 Most others were driving to so no loss really.

OP posts:
Rollergirl11 · 14/12/2024 11:16

I’m a bit frustrated today. Have had very light evening meals the last 3 nights. Weighed this morning and the scales momentarily read 9st 7 3/4 before jumping up to 9st 8 exactly. I hopped off and back on again and it did it once more before settling on 9st 8.😡

Feel like my body is resolutely holding on to that last 1lb! Out for lunch today so will do OMAD and see if there is any difference on the scales tomorrow!

greengreyblue · 15/12/2024 08:46

Drives you mad doesn’t it @Rollergirl11 . Your body will have to comply if you keep on. There’s daily weight/water fluctuation anyway.

OP posts:
IdLikeToBeAFraser · 15/12/2024 09:30

@rollergirl11 I am starting to think my scales are stuck.on 80.2. I have weighed exactly that every day this week. Considering my usual fluctuations it's particularly odd! 🤣🤣🤣

My.clothes feel different though this week. So... 🤷‍♀️

Rollergirl11 · 15/12/2024 09:37

Thanks @greengreyblue. Well I finally made to my target of 9st 7! I went out for lunch with friends yesterday and decided to do OMAD. I was really hungry last night but has a handful of nuts and went to bed. Weighed this morning and exactly 9st 7 so a full lb down from yesterday. I think as is normal for me I will probably fluctuate for the next week and then hopefully remain at target weight.

Will try and maintain over the Xmas period but not quite sure what to do in the NY. If I continue doing the same will I continue to loose weight? What should I do to maintain the weight I’m at? Start eating more? I don’t find eating this way any great hardship so am happy to continue as I am and I guess there’s no real issue with going slightly lower. 🤷‍♀️
