Hi all

Just checking in! I recognised that the fasting was bringing out some unhealthy habits for me, e.g. justifying not eating and a binge and restrict cycle. So I've decided to give it a break.

I exercise a lot and was finding myself ignoring my hunger signals all too often.

At an already healthy weight I think I need to be kinder to myself and stop obsessing.

However I will continue with a 12 hour fast ish for now and to eat well.

I may be back!

All the best.

All the best @Cashew1 it sounds like you’re following your instincts and listening to your body.

@Ilikeyoursleeves its defo a good tool to come back to and know it works for you.

I will be getting back to fasting soon after a lovely break in Amsterdam! Nice to ease up and relax and enjoy ourselves for a few days. Also o look forward to getting on track with IF and hopefully reaching target weight over the next few weeks 🤞🏼

greengreyblue · 31/01/2025 23:19

I love Amsterdam @jumpintheline .
@Ilikeyoursleeves its a great to have this way of eating in our pocket.

@jumpintheline enjoy Amsterdam and @Cashew1 well done on listening to your instincts.

I am very happy as I lost 3lbs this week! I think a couple of days of 22-24 hour fasts and OMAD really helped with that. I do however have a busy weekend of meals out planned so may be up again next week but we'll see. I'm going to try for a week of light meals next week and see where I get to.

greengreyblue · 01/02/2025 09:49

Well done @GameOfJones that’s a lovely loss. My Saturday weigh is the same as yesterday at 61kg so a little up. Mid week was down at 60.3. Must try not to worry about the minor fluctuations. Have family birthday celebrations today and tomorrow so I’m parking it all apart from skipping breakfast and back on it on Monday. Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Hey everyone! Have had a busy week so haven’t really had a chance to come on. Had my swishy party last night which was great fun. Really happy with my outfit and was secretly chuffed that I managed to fit in
the size 10 rather than the 12! These are the things that remind me why it’s worth perseverance, even when progress is slooow.

I essentially did OMAD yesterday as had late lunch/main meal around 3pm and then didn’t get a chance to eat again. Have weighed this morning and was 9st 4.5. Fully expecting to have gained that lb again through the course of the day today but was still nice to see!

greengreyblue · 01/02/2025 12:56

Amazing @Rollergirl11 and after a party too. Great scale and non scale victory for you to swish in the smaller dress! 🥳
Just had a lunch of sourdough toast with soft cheese and tomatoes with lots of cracked black pepper and salt. Will be drinking and eating late afternoon/ evening but fasting tomorrow until about 2/3.

Dinner is stir fried noodles with tofu, peppers and onions.

jumpintheline · 03/02/2025 19:13

leftover roast chicken, broccoli cauliflower cheese for lunch

3 chocs with afternoon coffee.

greengreyblue · 03/02/2025 19:42

Lentil daal with kale for lunch.
Snacked on bit of leftover pannetone
Dinner ate with the kids - wholemeal tuna broccoli pasta.

Weigh day- still at 61kg so over target by 0.5 and I’m happy with that. Haven’t moved much this week as dog poorly and been exhausted after a cold and busy family birthday week so aim to get back to it and keep on keeping on.

Morning all. Haven’t had chance to check in too much lately. Same ole thing for me. Settled in to doing 18:6 during the week with an OMAD thrown in at the weekend if eating out.

Weight wise I’m fluctuating between 9st 5/4. More often 9st 5. I tend to stay at a weight for around 3 weeks before dropping down again. But given that I’m below my target weight I’m not too concerned if I don’t lose anymore.

greengreyblue · 08/02/2025 19:36

That’s where I want to be @Rollergirl11 - comfortably under target to allow for any over indulgences.
19 hr fast
lunch: butterbean and feta salad with loads of salad veg. An apple
dinner: tagliatelle with chicken and leeks in a creamy sauce made with low fat soft cheese and Parmesan. A few glasses of white wine .

greengreyblue · 09/02/2025 15:46

Weekend has been a bit of a disaster but back on today and planning a full week of 18:6.
18 hours broke fast with mushroom omelette & salad plus greek yogurt and blueberries with meatball pasta (quorn meatballs and roast veg sauce) for dinner I've got a 6pm class tonight and just can't eat before I exercise so dinner will be late aiming to finish latest 8pm so I can have lunch at 2pm.

Not weighed myself but based on weekend over-indulgence I'll take a maintain this week.

greengreyblue · 10/02/2025 16:14

18 hr fast
lunch: sweet potato salad, an apple
snack: after work a celery stick with hummus and a few walnuts.
dinner: will be sausage pasta with a tomatoey sauce.

Weekend was also a bit over on the indulgence for me too! Can’t seem to stick to it at the mo - is it the gloomy dark days cold miserable weather?? Reaching for comfort food.

Did do an 18 hour fast though. Had Buddha bowl for lunch then ate early with the kids - chilli and rice with some grated cheese. Closed the kitchen at 5pm and contemplating a 24 hour fast until 5pm tomorrow. We will see how tomorrow goes…

jumpintheline · 11/02/2025 14:52

Have got to 22 hours and feeling fine!

Thinking I might try and aim for one 24 hour fast a week until I reach TW.

Don't know CW as it stands- will check in tomorrow.

lechatnoir · 11/02/2025 15:03

Good for you @jumpintheline I really struggle to get past lunchtime let alone 24 hours although more habit than hunger. I managed 17 hours today and had repeat of yesterday's omelette & salad and have some fruit to snack on. Dinner is chicken with rice and veg and then just need to stop evening snacking as that isn't helping my fast window (or waistline!).

greengreyblue · 11/02/2025 16:48

18 hr fast
lunch: salad with smoked mackerel, an apple
dinner: Toad in the hole with red cabbage and green beans.
