Picking the easiest change to make and doing that, sorry didn't write that very clearly. I think that was snacking in between meals for me. Instead I ate more at meals so I was fuller for longer, and ate three regular meals. That broke the snack habit in a couple of weeks, then I worked on portion sizes i.e. counting calories. It wasn't a plan as such but it worked for me.

MistySkiesAreGone · 16/05/2022 17:45

Amazing loss @LosingAtHumanBopIt !

Mycatsgoldtooth · 16/05/2022 17:50

Ok starting tomorrow and reading all your posts with interest. Really worried about being hungry as it seems like such a little amount of food. Do you get used to it? Two stone to lose so it’s going to be a slog to get to target

xraydelta · 16/05/2022 18:53

@MistySkiesAreGone great advice! I have done it both ways before and the last time I went cold Turkey on everything and felt good for the first week, but then after a month it was just monotonous.

Good idea though. I think I'll finish the wine and have a small potato with my fish for dinner.

I am just depressed about it all tbh. I wish I could get better tasting recipes and keep them under the calories. Eating once a day helps with that, but I can't go to that this week.

Urgh. It's my birthday soon and I wanted to be slimmer 😔

xraydelta · 16/05/2022 19:07

Fecking hell. No paragraphs 😩

LosingAtHumanBopIt · 16/05/2022 19:45

Has anyone got any tips on ignoring an overwhelming desire for a kebab?🤣

MistySkiesAreGone · 16/05/2022 19:57

@Mycatsgoldtooth I think going straight into it is a challenge, they say around day 4 is the hardest, it definitely gets easier though. I think the sooner you can get into ketosis you feel better, as then you don't really feel hungry as you are getting enough energy from fat. Also having all the nutrient dense food, like tuna, chicken, avocado, cheese, lean beef, helps a lot.

Plusses- I am sleeping better than I have in yonks.

MistySkiesAreGone · 16/05/2022 19:58

@LosingAtHumanBopIt Can you do a fake kebab? Halloumi and roasted veggies on skewers with some yoghurt dip.

LosingAtHumanBopIt · 16/05/2022 20:29

@MistySkiesAreGone that's a great idea, I forget we can have halloumi - this may be my saviour

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/05/2022 08:52

10st 3.9lbs today, but at a friends whose scales always weigh me lighter so probably 10st 6. Really pleased to be under 10st 7 mark, definitely this is the homeward straight now. My next milestone is 10st 4 on my scales.

NSV - I bought a belt, having literally never owned one. I'm a pear shape and I have been missing out! Also my face shape has gone back to being more contoured.

Not sure this is a NSV but the three jeans I bought when I needed to get out of leggings after lockdown are baggy. Fortunately baggy is the style so I might be able to keep them with a belt. Will reassess when I get back from holiday as may need to reinvest.

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/05/2022 12:03

I feel really stressed today, not from dieting but all the things I have to do before my holiday. I've been avoiding getting stressed as otherwise I'll blow the diet...but to be honest the last few months I feel like I've been constantly buying holiday clothes and sending them back (kept some and probably have enough without hurting the bank balance)...meanwhile I'm not actually packed, still have a bunch of things to arrive/return. Basic housework still needs doing. And I really need to get organised with work. I don't think I will blow the diet, not now lol. I think I will go and do a 'deli food' shop this evening as I then I can have picky meals for the rest of the week while I get shit done. I'm not going to beat myself up as the fact I've got from 12 stone 1lb to 10st 6lb in a sensible way, without starving myself or getting low on iron, is such a mahoosive achievement. Based on loss so far, I reckon I will be 10st 2 by the time of holiday, so I can say I lost 2 stone!

PhoenixMama · 17/05/2022 18:20

That's so inspiring @MistySkiesAreGone ! Sorry for the silence I'm back up to insane crazy long days and working almost every day. So I lost 3.5/4 lbs last week - not the 7lbs the first time round but I have lost 4 inches which matters more to me. I think the running is really slowing me down. Also water & sleep. This morning I woke up at 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Plus on days when I'm on a course or at a conference I just can't get enough water. I'm definitely struggling with days where everything goes a bit tits up (basically every day atm) and then I have to juggle meals. Not at home for lunch or dinner 5 out of 7 days this week. I keep trying on gorgeous clothes I wore last year and they don't fit so I do need to keep it up but so frustrating it's so slow! Will be slower if I eat crap lol so need to stick with it!

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/05/2022 18:44

@PhoenixMama amazing well done on lbs loss and inches loss.

Not sure I feel inspiring lol, mildy obsessed maybe haha. I actually googled portable scales to take on holiday. Thankfully I couldn't find any. That is not happening lol.

xraydelta · 17/05/2022 19:51

@MistySkiesAreGone you've done so well! It's brilliant.

I am now wishing I'd gone cold Turkey again, BUT I'll be okay. It really is hit and miss for the same person depending on all sorts of factors I think.

I've walked 12,000 and just eaten Greek salad for lunch and a whole load of celery so far. I put some beef bolognaise in the slow cooker earlier so I can have that with veg when I get home and save/freeze the rest.

Tomorrow is going to be a loooong day with work. I am dreading the next few days tbh. They are just too hectic and busy.

Hope everyone is having a nice Tuesday 😁

MistySkiesAreGone · 18/05/2022 07:34

SW on Fast 800 11 st 3.8 (23 April)
CW 10 st 5.6 (18 May)
Loss so far 12.2lbs on F800 (and total loss since starting dieting in Feb 23.4lbs)
Days on F800 24 days
TW 9.10

Breakfast - see what there is
Feta salad for lunch
Salmon, courgettes, brocolli for dinner

MistySkiesAreGone · 18/05/2022 19:41

Had berries, almonds and yoghurt for breakfast.

Feta salad...followed by a prawn salad later.

Just had seabass, roast potatoes (with fry light), cauliflower, brocolli and carrots, with a half low fat mayo / half yoghurt condiment.

Having some almond milk and cacao powder.

Going to snack on feta and peanut butter later, fancy them together as I am wierd.

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/05/2022 14:23

No loss today.

Yoghurt, berries and boiled egg for breakfast.
Purition shake for lunch as really busy.
Probably chicken and veggies later.

NSV is that I feel better in a swimming costume and I think I feel happy in my body again. I'd be okay at this weight, though I'd like to lose a bit round my thighs (pear shape) and tone up more. I feel like I get a second look when walking around - though I'd actually prefer if we didn't have these subtle messages. I know for myself I did it to be healthier for the long-term. I can't wait to go and see my hospital consultant as he has been nagging me for about 5 years to lose weight as if I don't he said I will notice it when I get older (I have a progressive illness but keeping fit keeps the symptoms away).

PhoenixMama · 19/05/2022 20:33

Well done @MistySkiesAreGone I'm really struggling with having to eat out and being out at work for crazy hours.

I am however enjoying being more active so I'm thinking of adding back in the gym I used to go to. I'm loving running 3 times a week so maybe I'll love that too? Looking at next week I'm already out 3 evenings and 2 lunches. Which is insane. Am going to try and find some easy win snacks to help me get through the crazy times.

Any suggestions?

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/05/2022 20:59

Easy win snacks...not sure how portable they are, I like the Itsu seaweed thins, almonds, olives, celery, peppers, cucumber, apples/pears, cheese, zero fat natural yoghurt, Miso soups (aquired taste lol). Sorry none of that sounds too appealing!

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/05/2022 21:04

815 cals today. Tough one to gwt through today. Going to be up late so going to snack on peppers and cucumber.

Easterdaffsx · 20/05/2022 09:04

Anyway ..... I've lost 10 lbs !!
So chuffed
12pms left to lose
Loving reading this amd so supportive thank you 😊

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/05/2022 10:38

Oh my goodness well done @Easterdaffsx ! Lovely to hear.

No loss again today. I think I ate 950 cals yesterday as forgot a soup. Basically I wanted to eat all day so kind of went with it but tried to rein myself in. I read online that its common not to lose during ovulation and during your period.

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/05/2022 10:50

I don't know that I will lose much more before my holiday on the 24th, but will keep an eye on the scales.

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/05/2022 22:07

Breakfast - Porridge blueberries and yoghurt, seeds
Lunch - salmon, prawns, feta, salad, tomato, olive oil
Dinner - chicken breast in bacon and cheese, green beans, brocolli
Snack - yoghurt, banana, pear and cacao powder. Itsu thins.
765 cals

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/05/2022 22:14

I felt like saying f### it today. Everytime though I remind myself that a. if I do then it just means I have to lose it again- last time I was so annoyed- so is it worth it? b. I will feel really crap that I sabotaged, I'd rather not have the mind games and just stick to the plan (unless there is a health reason why not). Generally this little talking to has worked.
