Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

sticking to the under 900 calories a day set plans (with a few alternatives per week but always under 900)
23 days and MAX 5 lbs lost. despite significant exercise...
anyway it's not an unhealthy plan, lots of veggies meat and berries. i'll continue it's just not proving to be the holy grail i expected.

fluffydinosaur · 23/03/2021 23:47

Ah it is frustrating when it doesnt come off as quickly as you hope, especially when you are sticking to it and exercising too. but I guess at least the scales are going in the right direction - fingers crossed you will get a nice big whoosh soon

Why do so many of you promote high fat when the book says « I mean about 40 percent carbs, 40 percent fat and 20 percent protein," he says.«
It is a low carb Mediterranean diet with some added healthy fat such as olive oil, avocado and nuts not a high fat diet. Can you link your interpretation please .
TIAx

@GordonPym, i'm following it for the low calorie content, nothing to do with achieving or interest in the "keto" component. when any of the online members ask about ketosis and checking urine they say that is not necessary and that the "fast" in fast 800 is not necessary when eating low calorie as that is enough of a fast on it's own so no need to eat within a certain time frame. no mention of high fat at this point of the online program.
which i gather from the comments of some of the members does not follow the books.

GordonPym · 24/03/2021 00:17

@fallfallfall thank you. I thought so because what Mosley says to eat if defo not to add cream or cheese.

Truthlikeness · 24/03/2021 08:03

As long as you can measure to get accurate calories, it doesn't matter which method you use. I find my weight loss often stalls for several says then I'll have a dip.

fallfallfall · 24/03/2021 16:16

@Truthlikeness i hate with a passion entering all the calories. especially with soups and stews where you don't really know how many servings you get in the end. this is where jamie oliver comes in handy, he includes calorie counts for x many portions.

and this is also why i'm paying for the online program, so that i follow the recipe and the count is done. BUT you're right that is assuming so much especially across multiple countries regarding products available.

Truthlikeness · 24/03/2021 20:17

Yeah - I hear you. For that reason I make very simple meals where I can calculate the calories easily, or buy ready-made soup with it written on the side.

Truthlikeness · 26/03/2021 08:32

Has anyone else found their sleep has massively improved? The internet seems to suggest low cal diets might make it harder to sleep but my covid insomnia has disappeared and I'm getting much better quality sleep overall.

I’ve been on plan for 8 weeks and lost 33lbs - but I do have a lot to lose. The Fast800 is supposed to be moderately low carb rather than low carb but I’ve been restricting my carbs to under 20g and I think that’s part of the reason I’ve lost fairly well (though it’s probably the same as when I’ve done Atkins where you don’t calorie count). I’m really hoping that I can get to the 3 stone mark by week 12 but I’m not sure what to do after this.
Has anyone finished the Fast800 and continued to lost weight using the 5:2?

mammabear0314 · 16/02/2023 05:39

Hi ladies. Can anyone show me what the fast 800 original book looks like. Not the recipe one - the original book which I'm guessing has all the info in it? I want to order it but seeing so many different versions that I don't want to order the wrong thing

So amazing what all of you have achieved well done !! Xx

VoldemortsKitten · 18/02/2023 15:05

@mammabear0314 this is the one I used for Fast 800, it covers that and the subsequent move to 5:2 if that suits you. I maintain using 16:8 personally x

mammabear0314 · 20/02/2023 08:02

@VoldemortsKitten I bought it and am starting TODAY! 20lbs exactly to lose in 6 weeks. Let's see how well I can do! Xx

mammabear0314 · 28/02/2023 08:45

So after first week I'm 5lbs down after being strict for 5 days and a bit more lenient over the weekend x

Createausername1970 · 02/03/2023 16:47

Well done. DH and I started the fast 800 in April last year. By the end of September I was 2 and a half stone down and hubby was 3 stone down. We had a holiday in October, then it was Xmas, and January was cold..... so have put on about 7lb over the last few months. But we are keen to get the weight loss going again as we both want to lose another stone on top of what we have both put back on. So I am hoping for another 20lb loss by the end of the summer.
