Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

I've not been sticking to it properly recently, but am committed to having a Fabulous February!

I'm also going to be blogging about following this when cooking (mostly) for 1.

a week

Polkadotties · 01/02/2021 08:50

I’m 13st3lb today. According to the BMI scale I am now 29.7 and no longer obese yaaay Grin

mumonthehill · 01/02/2021 09:42

I am finding it hard to keep motivated, I never want to see another omelette!! I get a real dip around 3pm which I find difficult. I am giving myself small goals, so next one is to keep going until the 14 feb.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 01/02/2021 10:25

Well done everyone! I am 12lb down after 4 weeks and 1.5" off my bust, waist and hips etc. Had some birthday cake over the weekend but generally have been sticking to it.

I am 1/3 of the way to target - not expecting to knock off another 12lb by the end of Feb but will be aiming to get from 168lb to 159.8lb Grin

fluffydinosaur · 01/02/2021 17:56

well done everyone - all your great losses are keeping me motivated. I seemed to stuck around the same weight last few days but am a bit bloated from my period so hoping once that goes down I will see a bit of a difference again.
@mumonthehill I know what you mean! I have also been eating a lot of omelettes! To try and mix it up I made a couple of different things this week though - I had a chicken BLT salad which was delicious (1 chicken breast, 2 rashers streaky bacon, a few cherry tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and a spring onion and some mayo) - came in around 300 cals though I did use light mayo as that is what I had in the fridge. i also tried out cottage cheese pancakes which were ...interesting! i think they need some berries etc to balance out the tanginess of the cottage cheese but they were a really nice texture. Today i had 1 slice of seeded toast with tuna mayo and some lettuce - i guess a little high on the carbs but not terrible if you aren't having other carby things during the day. I'm finding the more i can mix things up the easier the it is to stick to

travailtotravel · 01/02/2021 19:54

20lb down. Just another 63 to go. Sigh. Getting to Easter then breaking fast. Then getting back on the horse.

Foundmyfeet · 02/02/2021 19:17

A bit late to the party but well done all with the losses! Fab results! I'm now down 16lb since Jan 2nd. Hoping to lose another 2.5lb by Valentine's Day and then a further 7lbs by mid March.

mumonthehill · 03/02/2021 17:55

Thanks for all the support! Down a bra size and bought a summer dress in the next size down and it was a bit big! Do have blips, but am trying hard. Keep going all!

fluffydinosaur · 03/02/2021 18:27

struggling a bit today... not seeing any loss so far this week and I am soooo hungry! I've gone over a little on calories today too, think I'm closer to 1000 (or will be once I've eaten dinner). really hope I see a drop tomorrow. sometimes I just look at myself and I am so far from my target, it just seems like i will never get there. sorry for the downer, need to try and get my motivation back!

mumonthehill · 03/02/2021 19:52

@fluffydinosaur I ate a slice of bread and butter in the utility room the other day, hiding out!!! We can keep going!

Darbs76 · 03/02/2021 21:59

I’ve been dieting since last March (lost 24lbs, been maintaining since October but now losing Xmas gain plus another couple of pounds so I decided to do 2 days of 800 and other 5 days normal weight loss cals. Working great so far, lost 2.6lbs last week and over 1.5 this week so far, after 1 fast. My tip is to plan your food night before or in morning so you know exactly what you’re eating to ensure it’s right calories

fluffydinosaur · 03/02/2021 23:13

@mumonthehill - haha that sounds like something I would do! you are right though - we can do it and must just power through!!
@darbs76 - I do the planning and put it all into mfp the day before but last couple of days just been so hungry have ended up having an extra snack!

Foundmyfeet · 04/02/2021 20:52

Has anyone tried low carb/high protein shakes as a meal supplement at all? Just wanted to know if it assists weight loss.

JaquelineBeanstalk · 04/02/2021 22:18

Ugh, hate the thought of shakes. I’d rather have real food. But I do understand some people find them handy.

travailtotravel · 04/02/2021 22:22

I chose to lose over longer than do shakes. I'm sure they work but I like real food and I tend to think that I'm not educating myself about portion sizes and new normal stuff by having a shake.

BIWI · 05/02/2021 11:00

They're OK, I think, every now and then. The biggest problem with them, I think, is that they're sweet. I think it's important that we try to avoid sweet things, so that we stop the craving for sugary things (as well as artificial sweeteners, of course). That said, I've just bought the coconut one, and (with almond milk) that wasn't particularly sweet.

JaquelineBeanstalk · 05/02/2021 13:56

Hmmmive just been making the orange and almond loaf from the first book. Ok it says occasional treat, and I’ll be freezing most of it, but flip me that’s a huge quantity! And at 300 calories a slice, it really will be a very rare treat.

BIWI · 05/02/2021 13:56

WTAF?! That's a huge amount of calories!

JaquelineBeanstalk · 05/02/2021 14:06

I know! I have lots of problems with the recipe books, and the calories in the “occasional treats” section is one of them. But I had dates and oranges to use up.....

MyLifeNow20 · 05/02/2021 14:26

Hi is this still going? Can I join please?
Do I need to sign up to the website or buy the book?
Wanting to start monday

JaquelineBeanstalk · 05/02/2021 16:05

The main book is definitely worth a read, and the recipe books if you need some ideas. You don’t need to sign up to the online programme, but some people find that keeps them accountable, and it does do all the menu planning and shopping lists for you.

Polkadotties · 06/02/2021 10:30

Had some good news yesterday so OH had a little celebration. I had 2 g&ts and we ordered Chinese. My first drop of alcohol and first takeaway since the end of December
I had the worst nights sleep! Can only put it down to the food and drink. Didn’t even really enjoy the Chinese. Lesson learned!

Mrspopper · 07/02/2021 08:15

Morning. 5 weeks in and 23lb down. Still
A long way to go but am glad to be going in right direction.

chalkyc2 · 07/02/2021 08:53

Hello - can I join too? I've signed up for the online programme (but tell me why isn't it a proper app?!?) and I start tomorrow!

Am anticipating this being very hard! But it's also very necessary and I have a lot to lose. I'm particularly worried about the need to cut out Diet Coke and I think my oat milk tea is way too high in calories 😬

Good thing is my husband is up for it too!

Foundmyfeet · 07/02/2021 13:24

Thanks all for your thoughts on the protein shakes.
I was asking because I had some left over from last year when I was trying to lose weight and failed miserably. Anyway, I've had a shake for the last 3 mornings as I was about and about when my fast was due to break so it was convenient for me.
I lost 2lb this week. I think my weight loss has evened out a bit now as it's been a 2lb consistent weekly loss.
