Morning! Am starting Fast800 today. Anyone care to join me?
Any tips from those who have done it before?
I’ve only been up 2 hours and all I’ve thought about is food so far! I’m surprised how often I think about it!

hello, how is everyone getting on? I am 6 weeks in and 21lbs down. I'm pretty pleased as my 12 week goal is 42lbs so it might just happen ( though I realise it slows down so will have to wait and see).my journey so far has included one week where I lost nothing and one where I lost only a pound, and I've had days where a pound or 2 has gone back on. so just wanted to say to anyone who is experiencing plateaus or disappointing weeks, dont worry, just keep pushing - we can all do this!

Foundmyfeet · 14/02/2021 13:51

Well done @fluffydinosaur! Just think that even if you don't reach your target in the next 6 weeks, you definitely will have by summer.

I've been thinking about my target. I think I'm going to try and drop a total of

Foundmyfeet · 14/02/2021 13:52

Oops...hit the post button too soon!

Yes, thinking of 60lbs weight loss instead of 56lbs. Only 4lbs more but reckon I can do it.

So far I've lost 19lbs in 6 weeks.

fluffydinosaur · 14/02/2021 19:21

Thanks @Foundmyfeet - to be honest the 42lb isn't my full goal - I think I probably have another couple of stone to go after that - but I was hoping to hit 42lb in the very fast phase and then shift to a 5:2 or 4:3 pattern to lose the rest. i also havent been doing as much exercise as i would like to but I'm hoping that if the weather gets a bit warmer, this might become more appealing! I've had a bit of a day off today with a roast dinner and some brownies so hoping this doesnt detail me too much!

Spotsandstars · 14/02/2021 20:57

I'm feeling utterly depressed. First week lost 7lb. End of second week I've GAINED 1lb just finished period so don't think it'll be excess water etc. Feel gutted, done everything right including fasting etc.

travailtotravel · 14/02/2021 22:47

Hit 25lb since 1 Jan. Slowed right down so I think my goal of 42lb by Easter is a bit off target. Must just stay motivated to keep it off, too! Keep going everyone.

fluffydinosaur · 14/02/2021 23:20

@Spotsandstars I've had some weeks like that too- honestly tey not to be too disheartened and keep going! I am sure you will see the scales going down again soon. if not, maybe have a look at your macros? but I wouldn't worry yet - see how you get on this week

decisionsincisions · 15/02/2021 20:10

Hello everyone - sorry to hijack the thread - but I figured you lot might be able to answer a question. Are Holland and Barret Slimbiome sachets compatible with the fast 500 diet? Stupidly I bought 2x boxes in the penny sale but can't see the nutritional info on the boxes other than all the vitamins and minerals. I have googled a few times but nothing comes up to tell me if it is low carb or a lot of nonsense. 😅 Could anyone advise?

I have had a couple of failed attempts at fast 500 but starting again tonignt and don't want to sabotage myself even further!

Thanks

Spotsandstars · 15/02/2021 20:15

Thanks @fluffydinosaur I guess I just assumed there would be some loss in the second week and that's why I'm disappointed. Carrying on hoping this third week may bring a move downwards on the scales.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 15/02/2021 21:39

@Spotsandstars

Thanks *@fluffydinosaur* I guess I just assumed there would be some loss in the second week and that's why I'm disappointed. Carrying on hoping this third week may bring a move downwards on the scales.
I had hardly any loss in the 2nd week and think I went up I the 3rd or 4th - but then I have since had a couple of mini whooshes and am 14 lb down in 6 weeks.

I confess the last couple of days I have found it tough mentally and been having to have a stern word with myself when I am wavering. I know this is working, I've lost inches and am nearly back in my larger pair of jeans - (have been living in jogging bottoms) We just need to keep on keeping on!

mumonthehill · 20/02/2021 09:01

How’s everyone getting on? I have not had a very good week so need to get really back into it. Still not having pasta bread etc but I think my portion size has crept up. Am going for a strict week next week to get back into it!!!

Spotsandstars · 20/02/2021 10:46

I've not really lost anything since my first week. MFP tells me I'm doing more like 1100kcals a day so that could be why. Still a lot less then I usually eat though!

orchidsonabudget · 23/02/2021 17:04

Hello nice to have found you all.
I am thinking of doing 2 weeks of shakes to start me off? Any thoughts on this?

fluffydinosaur · 24/02/2021 00:04

hi @orchidsonabudget , I'm not sure it would be a good idea to just have shakes - but having a shake for lunch and then one of the recipes for dinner would probably be fine I think. I've had a few shakes here and there, especially when I've needed a protein boost - but sticking mainly to food as I get more filled up.

orchidsonabudget · 24/02/2021 00:32

Yes that's what I meant, sorry not clear
And can i ask do you guys add 16:8 to the 800 cals???

orchidsonabudget · 24/02/2021 21:31

So I got the book, crazy Amazon stuff I ordered this morning and it came tonight so I am going to start tmw 👀wish me luck

fluffydinosaur · 01/03/2021 12:26

hello everyone! hope it's going well for everyone. I've just started week 9 today and am absolutely ravenous! Not sure what is wrong with me :s
I've also hit a bit of a wall last couple of weeks - only 2lb down (on of which seems to be back this morning)... anyone else finding themselves suddenly starving, having been ok for weeks?!
I'm a bit worried that is weightloss has slowed down so much already, that when I switch to 5:2 I wont be able to lose at all? I still have several stone to go so dont think it's a case of slowing down as you get near your healthy weight

travailtotravel · 02/03/2021 12:46

@fluffydinosaur - yes, me. I am suddenly so hungry. So bad in fact that with a plateau of not losing anything last week (2 stone down, at least another 2 to go so in a position where it cant' be slowing down that much as there's still so much to go!) I had a binge. I hate myself for it of course and now will face a week of either having put on or not losing again so it's very much self-sabotage. Still, we will perk ourselves up, pick ourselves up and carry on!

fluffydinosaur · 02/03/2021 18:57

yep - it's a total vicious cycle! on the other hand, when I see a good loss I'm so much more motivated to keep going. hopefully we all have a good week this week!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 07/03/2021 14:45

Can I join you guys? Day 5 here and lost 5 pounds (oh if only every week was like the first!)
Not finding it as hard as I thought it would be - I think about food quite a bit - meal planning kind of thing. But not struggling too much on the hunger side, ish. This is my last regime before bariatric surgery I think but I’ve read the book and feel onboard with the plan. The hardest part is making it to lunch without something but I do want the benefits of IF so I want to see if my body gets used to it. Has anyone got used to the large gap?

travailtotravel · 07/03/2021 20:28

It gets easier, honestly.

fallfallfall · 08/03/2021 03:58

Tomorrow is my official start day to the online Fast800 program.
I’ve tried 1 week of the recipes, not cheated and lost 3lbs.

HeeHiHoHum · 09/03/2021 09:51

Can I join too? I started last Thursday and I don’t know if it’s dodgy scales but I weighed in at 76.6kg on Thursday and this morning I’m down to 74.5kg. Hoping first to get to 72kg as that’ll take me from obese to overweight and the eventual goal is 60 kg as that’ll take me to the very upper limits of the healthy range!

Does anyone have any recommendations for their best recipe book? Also on a credit crunch at the moment so fun times all round (!) but can stretch to one recipe book and would like to make it worth it!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 09/03/2021 15:06

Afternoon. Day 6 here, it’s been going well on the whole, food is nice although I’m not entirely sure of all the rules yet, must read the book again for clarity. I’ve joined a facebook page for it and they seem to be obsessed with carb counts but I didn’t think this way was so crazy strict on carbs (I’ve done LCHF)
Anyway, today I’ve put on a pound even though it’s going well. I know we all fluctuate but it’s so annoying that our bodies don’t behave properly 😀

fallfallfall · 09/03/2021 17:47

i'm only doing the 800 calorie a day, low carb meals.
not at all interested in fasting/fasting windows or counting again (years of counting calories).
if i can learn (and my hubby as well) to not fill my plate with starch it will have been a healthy endeavor.
and as for counting calories well "the plan" does that for me with recipes to select from.
i exercise well enough; loads of walking and regular cardio, some resistance and biking when the weather allows.
we'll see...no further weight loss in 4 days i'm a tad disappointed.
