Is anyone else incorporating the 3x weekly HIIT training? I have an exercise bike so I think I'll give it a shot. The fact it doesn't take much time is very appealing.

Yes I am. We have an exercise bike that I can easily hop on for a few minutes before my shower. I remain skeptical about how much benefit this can be but no harm in giving it a bash.

Molly500 · 16/08/2020 10:55

Hello. I have decided to start the fast 800 diet. I was watching the 'lose a stone in 21 days' tv programme. I have been on the Michael Moseley website and see they have a £99 membership option for 12 weeks. But I figured it"s just a case of 800 cals per day of low carb food so I can do that bu tracking with MFP. Has anyone paid the membership and think it"s worth it. I am really looking forward to losing my fat. I have 3.5 stone to go Confused

OysterBabe Here’s your 🏅
Well fufulina holiday loss!! 🏅 for you too I think! Your plan sounds good too.
frogs your plan also sounds very sensible. What supplements are you taking out if interest? I seem to have a fair bit of hair loss but mine could be peri-m 🙄
Re the renpho scales. If I change my age from 50 to 30 and reweigh I instantly lose 2% body fat. So there must be an algorithm they use suggesting older women are likely to have a higher percentage body fat than younger women. Look at my 2 10am weighs. Top is aged 50, one below is age 30. Bottom one was first thing this morning also age 30 (a lie). That been said mine has lessened over the months whist muscle mass slightly increased and I don’t exercise other than dog walks. Need to exercise, but just haven’t got into the habit yet.

Welcome molly there’s definitely someone on this thread that is doing the website & I'm pretty sure they were liking it as it does all the meal planning for you!
It’s not hard to follow though & MFP is useful. The recipe books are worthwhile, especially the BSD 8 week one. The fast800 is good but it’s aimed at 5:2 so some recipes are tadge carby so watch out!

outwest · 16/08/2020 11:08

@Molly500 Haven't used the £99 plan, so can't comment on that, but using the recipe book and MFP has worked just fine for me.

justanotherneighinparadise · 16/08/2020 11:17

I think MM said he decided to do the website alongside professionals to collate data as he wants to try and change government eating advice in the future.

buntingandstarcharts · 16/08/2020 11:25

Hi everyone! I've lost 11lb in a week thanks to the Fast 800 diet. I'm overjoyed and delighted after having a particularly low weekend last weekend. Thanks so much to @justanotherneighinparadise particularly for the support. So.... how much did you all lose week two and three? I'm fully aware it will slow down but fun to know all the same Smile

Oysterbabe · 16/08/2020 11:54

Wow, that's incredible. Well done!

Kimlek · 16/08/2020 11:58

bunting 11 pounds????? Flipping heck!! Huge congrats! Yes, please expect it to slow down. Grin I lost between 1-2 pounds a week on average. Some weeks nothing some weeks half a pound more

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/08/2020 12:05

We have ancient scales that just tell us our weight, no BMI or fat %, for now that suits me just fine Grin maybe when I'm into a lower bmi bracket I will get some fancy new scales. Today I weighed in a loss of 5lbs, I'm very happy with that loss in 4 days!

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/08/2020 12:05

Oh wow @buntingandstarcharts that's amazing!!

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/08/2020 12:09

Hi @Molly500 I haven't used the £99 plan but I am using the book recipes and MFP to track calories and carbs.

buntingandstarcharts · 16/08/2020 12:48

Thanks everyone! What a great community this is 🥂❤️

That’s the best thing I’ve read today and it’s actually made me feel quite emotional. Well done you. Absolutely fantastic. Made up for you.
TantricTwist · 16/08/2020 15:10

I caved in and had a white wine spritzer with the rest of the wine that had been sitting in the fridge goading me for a few days (I didnt want it to go to waste) I then of course proceeded to eat a few Doritos. It was a total of around 350 cals and lower in sugar and carbs than I thought, so that's something I guess.

Now I've had my little bump in the road it's given me more drive to stick to my BSD at 800 cals.

Yes, I'll be going on my cross trainer more. I only went on it for 10 mins yesterday and 30 mins the day before for the first time in forever. I think even if I go on for 5 minutes it'll be worth it so I get used to it. There is definitely a feel good afterwards with all those endorphins flying around.

I had a decent lunch today of bacon, eggs and mushrooms with a knob of butter. No breakfast.

itsmymess · 16/08/2020 15:20

I want to start this week as I e just read the book.
How have you found integrating the plan into feeding a family? I suspect my husband and kids will be appalled! Should I just be prepared to make different meals?

CurseryKinkajoo · 16/08/2020 15:29

Fast 800 theory book and BSD recipe book ordered. I’ve got the trial 7 day exercise plan. DH is watching the 21day TV program and is on board Grin

Please can someone recommend a kimchi recipe or will I find one in the books I’ve ordered?

outwest · 16/08/2020 15:33

Should I just be prepared to make different meals?

BSD calorific restriction is pretty intense at 800 kcals a day, so unless husband needs to lose weight, he probably shouldn't be on it. That goes in spades for growing children - even if they theoretically needed to lose weight, would be very cautious. If they like the food from BSD recipes, then you could give it to them and top up with lots of extra calories somehow, but even so...

We ended up making separate meals for kids.

Ineedflour · 16/08/2020 15:57

@Oysterbabe

I have some smart scales too. You stand on them and they immediately Bluetooth 10 different ways in which you are a fat bastard straight to your phone. They insult me ways I was previously unaware existed.

I haven't eaten a mountain of shit this weekend yet. Does someone drop the medal round or does it come in the post?

This is the best description of smart scales that I have ever read and absolutely accurate! 😂😂

Awesome! Well done!! Don't be disappointed if w2 and w3 are low in comparison, you are doing brilliantly.

I lost 8lb in w1, 3lb in w2 and will be 1 or 2lb in w3.

Cantteach · 16/08/2020 17:17

We're on day 6 and have mostly fed the dc the same as us for lunch although smallest won't eat anything with chickpeas so when we had falafel they had quorn cocktail sausages. I added some brown bread too, followed by some banana cake which was made with yogurt and brown flour.

Dinners have been trickier. They had chili with nachos as I had a had lying about, they'd normally have rice while we had salad. I have loads of tomato sauce in the freezer that I bring out to provide a quick meal on the rare occasion we're having something I know they won't eat but as we're having a lot meals with flavour that they won't touch I may have to rethink things. I might do some batch cooking so I'm not trying to get 2 separate meals ready every night.

It's also making me think about what they eat though. I know they need calories to grow etc but I don't want to set them on the same path I was on that led me here. Youngest is 6 so they are all old enough to just have 3 meals a day and cut back on snacking, even if it is mostly fruit and veg. I need to think more about this.

ThePawtriarchy · 16/08/2020 17:31

First week weigh in and I’ve lost 6.7lbs. I’m hoping it doesn’t slow to 1lb - 2lb per week straight away as I think I’ll struggle with the level of deprivation for that. I know there are other health benefits that I’m doing it for but it’s hard!

CurseryKinkajoo · 16/08/2020 17:54

Interesting you say that @Cantteach as I was think dh and I would have to eat differently but actually, why am I buying biscuits/crisps/shite for my dc and setting them up with the bad habits I have/had.

My youngest is 11 and overweight although his 3 older siblings are all slim but snack a lot on carb rich food. They do have different needs to me but do they need the quantities?!

outwest · 16/08/2020 18:07

@ThePawtriarchy Can't argue with 6.7lbs in a week - well done!

ThePawtriarchy · 16/08/2020 18:31

@outwest thanks, I think I have PMS and am pre-sabotaging myself. That sounds ridiculous, I know!
