I've lost a total of 14.8lbs in 25 days. I'm really pleased as in there I've had a weekend away, a family BBQ, a pizza splurge and I was out drinking last night. Had left over cauliflower pizza for lunch. Didn't give me the carb hit I was craving-obviously- but good, slightly hungover option. Going to have sensible dinner and an early night.

It's great hearing about everyone else's losses. This seems such an easy WOE. I just wish I'd found it sooner.

Shirtyllama · 05/09/2020 19:19

I've been aiming at 800 for the past 2 weeks, I feel really happy with it, and am amazed that I'm genuinely not very hungry if I stick to protein, fat, veg and small amounts of carbs. I do get hungry if I eat anything sweet, which is really useful to me in seeing how this works!

I bought 3 packs of the fast 800 shakes (chocolate/vanilla/strawberry) at the outset, thinking I'd need them but actually I can't stand the stevia taste, and it's much easier than I thought to find something suitable to eat for lunches, so I wonder if anyone would like them? One is unopened, other 2 have had one 200 calories' worth of powder used up. I'm in NE London if anyone on here could use them... complete waste if they are not used and I don't think I will have them

yumyumpoppycat · 06/09/2020 08:53

Everyone is doing so well! I on the other hand am restarting again again on Monday Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 06/09/2020 09:07

Oops sent too soon!

Shirty that is so kind! If no one takes you up on your offer then you could try just having half a portion as a protein boost - I did this and used to blend it with some frozen berries, spinach etc to help improve the texture. I hated the shakes but actually the packet I had eventually got used - so I typically I would have 2 meals and a half shake.

Purple are you feeling better? When I feel a bit weird I usually cheat with a teaspoon of natural peanut butter and/or some marmite stirred in hot water. On Facebook people usually suggest sugar or caffeine withdrawal or electrolytes are to blame, magnesium supplements are often recommended and also eating some potassium rich food. A lot of foods high in potassium are high carb so I guess it makes sense that people could end up low in potassium? Hope that you feel more normal today.

nibdedibble · 06/09/2020 15:39

Ooh you are all doing so well. I’m doing ok, a couple of lbs off this week but definitely drank too much last night and I know my weight tomorrow will reflect that. How stupid.

Mini goals are:

A stone off (achieved!)
Get to 200lbs which is overweight not obese
Hit a size 14 and wear all my old clothes (currently a 16)
Start enjoying exercise
Do a 5k
Get my waist to 31” or pref 30”
Get to 160lbs
Normal blood sugar
Be able to step to the top of the mat from downward dog

TantricTwist · 06/09/2020 17:47

So we've been away for the weekend to visit family and despite eating a bit of ice cream and a potato managed to stay under 800 yesterday as only ate one large evening meal consisting of meat and veg. Carbs were 42.

Today had a non alcoholic beer which actually was quite delicious and couldn't really taste any difference seeing as I haven't touched a beer for a while now. It's surprising low in calories.
I just cooked some egg fried rice for everyone and had a mouthful so that was enough for me. I then had yogurt and berries as my 'desert' after my one mouthful of mains. Carbs today are 64.
I've still got 150 calories to play around with so I wonder what delights I can conjure up later on.
I can now fit into an a old D bra from my usual DD which because of it's cut makes my boobs a bit smaller so my dresses fit better and I look slimmer, in that I'm not sobbing in the corner refusing to leave the house, slimmer.

Purpleraindeer · 06/09/2020 18:23

Frogs - 4stone is awesome! Wow. Enjoy the compliments

Tantric - well done on keeping to the Cals in an ‘uncontrolled’ environment. I’ve found this weekend tricky just trying to work out what to eat with my family without feeling like a weirdo for not eating what they’re eating and I do the cooking! I will be pleased when it’s Monday and they’re at school so I can weigh out to my hearts content Grin

Hope your first few days go ok poppy. I’m feeling much better thanks. I’ve noted the peanut butter suggestion. That sounds great, I LOVE peanut butter

Cantteach · 06/09/2020 19:01

Well done Tantric. We've away next weekend and I don't really have any say about the food options, and want to just relax and be with friends! I'm sure I'll put some weight on but I know it'll come off quickly.

Had quinoa salad for lunch which was low in calories and very disappointing. I've been drinking water all afternoon trying to take the edge of my hunger. Made dahl from website with cauliflower rice and 2 coconut wraps for dinner. Delicious, filling and satisfying.

1questionshootout · 06/09/2020 21:11

Just back from a weekend away- we managed well doing a brunch and dinner. My brunches were a goats cheese salad, and a granola fruit yoghurt waffle. My dinners were ( Thai) 2 starters, clear prawn soup and fish cake, and local mussels, veg stirfry. Ok, there was wine involved, it certainly wasnt 800 cals, but it was a good balance.

TantricTwist · 06/09/2020 23:46

I forgot to say at lunch today outside in the sun we had lots of salads, ham cheese and bread (which I had to ignore) but we had a watermelon, cucumber and mint salad - very yummy with just a normal vinaigrette dressing.

Flibbertyjibbit · 07/09/2020 13:48

Struggling with motivation today, weight loss has slowed down a lot and I'm feeling salad'd out. Going to have a look at the recipe thread to see if I can find something that doesn't involve salad. I'm on Day 26 and have lost 12.5lbs in total now.

Enjoy the compliments Frog - 4 stone is amazing!!!

Solongsugar · 07/09/2020 13:58

Hi , may I join llease or do I wait until there's week one ? I've very loosely followed fast800 since 1st August and lost 12 lbs. It's come a massive standstill, actually couple pounds gain today. Will be happy with one stone loss to put me at healthy BMI.

nibdedibble · 07/09/2020 17:22

Flibbertigibbit I’m having mushroom sauce and courgetti if that inspires you (hungry...last week was a bit haphazard though and I didn’t lose any weight or inches so I’m being strong 😁)

Purpleraindeer · 07/09/2020 21:02

Flibbertyjibit - what about stir fry? We had one of those at the weekend (no rice though) and it felt like normal food. Smile
For those of you who’ve been doing this a while - do the 16hr fasts get easier? Omg I thought I would have to eat my own hand at 9am and I had had no problems the previous day.

Flibbertyjibbit · 07/09/2020 21:54

Thanks for the ideas @nibdedibble and @Purpleraindeer - I'm allergic to mushrooms but maybe I could do pesto with courgetti. Love the stir fry idea, why didn't I think of that?!

I have been ok with the fasts so far. I finish eating at 6pm then eat again at 10am. I find a black tea or coffee helps in the morning if I need something.

Summer15coming · 08/09/2020 00:15

@Flibertyjibbit

Do you have the Fast 800 Recipe Book? My (non dieting) daughter and I are absolutely loving the recipes in there. I would continue cooking from it even if I weren't on the WOE any longer!

Miloarmadillo2 · 08/09/2020 08:16

Hi solongsugar of course you can join!

I haven't lost any weight the last few weeks - have relaxed a bit on calories as am at target of 57-58kg, but my body fat has contined to improve, now 31%.

AlgonquinBay · 08/09/2020 09:11

Hi all

Great to find this thread! I started the Fast800 the day after Michael Moseley's Lose a Stone in 21 Days programme aired - probably almost 5 weeks ago now.

I have lost 8kgs so far and finding the diet quite easy to do - although don't get me wrong I still have days when I feel v hungry!! I've had a couple of 'cheat days' along the way for birthdays but have managed to get straight back on it.

I'm planning to carry on for another few weeks and then do the 5:2 until I hit my target but a bit nervous about maintaining and whether I'm just going to pile the weight back on eventually Confused

I'm still thrilled every time I get on the scales though - I can't believe how quickly this diet has worked GrinGrin

TantricTwist · 08/09/2020 09:18

It's weird isn't it when you go over your calories because you eat your meals earlier in the day than normal then crave apples and yogurt and berries once you've gone to bed. At least that's better than my previous gin / wine and Doritos so that's something to be said for this WOE.

No idea what to eat later, I'm not much of a planner. I've got some keto ish Ottolenghi and hairy biker recipes I might try out.

I was watching the last 2 Star Wars movies last night before our Disney + finishes now the DC back at school and watched everything on it. They were surprisingly brilliant films. Hence the urge to snack I guess

nibdedibble · 08/09/2020 10:33

One thing I really dislike is planning everything really well, pre-prepping food so I won’t be tempted to reach for the carbs, making sure I get exercise and water and ALL that (it can be a bit like hard work dome days) and then putting on a pound overnight 😬

I do know it’s fluctuation and the idea is a downward trend but oh it pisses me off! I had a couple of weeks where I steadily lost 0.7-0.8 lbs a day and that was so satisfying. I need to get back on that trend, if only to keep my inner control freak happy 😂

nibdedibble · 08/09/2020 10:35

TantricTwist the disappearance of snack cravings has been a revelation to me! Amazing how you can reset to just fancy a bit of fruit or a few nuts. I was a full-on large bag of Kettle Chips snacker before this.

Solongsugar · 08/09/2020 14:53

Thanks all, happy to find a crowd on same path as a lot of family are slightly annoyed at my new way of eating. Can't win as they know I needed to shift weight !

Great news is, I rejected offers of cakes and pastries today. Wasn't bothered. Unless extremely unwell, I don't think that's happened in my LIFE .
Bad news is scales aren't going down anyways !

carbhunter · 08/09/2020 16:25

Having a bit of a hard day today. Skipped brekkie and had egg mayo for lunch with some salad, I don't feel hungry but I am craving something. Got veg curry for tea, but I just can't get excited about much of the food I have planned for this week.
Was considering planning a regular cheat meal once a week, does anyone else do that? Is it too tempting to just binge and ruin all your hard work?

nibdedibble · 08/09/2020 17:15

I don’t do cheat meals....but I did do cheat prosecco at the weekend 😬 I’m trying to think keto so that wasn’t the best move!!

aceofbase1 · 08/09/2020 19:08

I had a cheat day and it wasn't worth the amount of weight I regained and how long it took to lose, but others seem to do ok and only gain a couple of pounds.

I've adapted my calories on a Saturday so that I'm still very low carb but I'm allowing myself 1000 calories (still low enough to lose weight but feels like a treat) I'm having a some extra cheese/deli meat and a couple of squares of dark chocolate and that feels like a nice treat but I still stay in ketosis!
