Hi spinningdot - yes I have the thirst. The only thing worse than being so thirsty is the constant weeing! I think it’s the effect of reducing carbs. I felt a bit less thirsty today (im on day 4) so I’m hoping that it will tail off.

Tantric I just added cauliflower to my shopping for the week after your cauli rice review!

Summer15coming · 03/09/2020 21:11

No worries @miloarmadillo, sounds like a good one to try! And thanks for the potato tip, @jolly!

TantricTwist · 03/09/2020 22:11

@Purpleraindeer I hope you like it, it soaks up sauces well I think, at least better than I expected anyway.

And my DD 13 loved the baked cauliflower, cabbage and chicken I cooked tonight with turmeric and cumin followed by greek yogurt and berries. Mind you she followed that a while later with other items but at least her WOE is changing too. DS point blank refused so had something else.

yumyumpoppycat · 03/09/2020 22:13

Wow newaverage sounds like whole30 has done you a power of good - amazing that you have found something that really works for you. Lovely to see you back on these threads!

Purple - if you want something else to try with your cauliflower I have seen loads of people raving about this recipe in Facebook m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=XaCYSX5WE5M

Makegoodchoices · 04/09/2020 07:50

I’ve started Fast800 this week and am on day 4 - when would you say the constant weeing will stop?!

Jollyholibobs · 04/09/2020 08:13

Hi @Makegoodchoices I’m on day 22 constant weeing is still a thing for me.

I’m off on hols tomorrow so was hoping for a bit more impact this week. I’m a daily weigher And have loved seeing the regular progress after the first 4 days where nothing moved. This week has stuck again however and two days it’s gone up. I’ve tried reducing cals to just over 500. Always stuck to 800 max. Tried OMAD and stuck to 16:8. And I don’t drink alcohol. I Guess I just need to stick with it and next week away will be interesting as No scales to either weigh myself or food. Limited choices for what to eat as well. I intend to keep following the principles as I feel really good on this WOE and the very best thing is I am not craving carbs and chocolate.

carbhunter · 04/09/2020 12:43

Thanks for the cauli pizza recipe yumyumpoppycat I am doing that tonight, looks delicious and I have been craving pizza.

TantricTwist · 04/09/2020 13:00

I've always drunk a lot of water but I'm finding I'm weeing far less but in larger amounts since starting this.

I had the most delicious Lunch after skipping breakfast of garlic mushrooms with sour cream and paprika, bacon and a fried egg which came to 325 calories and was a lovely filling meal.
No idea what I'll have later possibly bolognaise sauce over cauliflower rice or yoghurt and berries or both or something completely different.

Roasted swede is a nice replacement for potatoes. Just cut up and roast in a pan with 300mls of water and a stock cube. I did put another pan over the top to help keep in the mositure a bit. Took approx 40 mins or so. I just kept poking it till it was soft enough. I was going to mash it but actually preferred the cubes I'd cut up. It was also really nice the next day or so warmed up or could be used cold in a salad.

carbhunter · 04/09/2020 13:01

I have some basa fillet and coconut flour, does anyone have a recipe for some kind of coconut fish recipe?

TantricTwist · 04/09/2020 13:07

Oh and joy of joys my arms bingo wings have reduced a lot so tons of clothes fit much better esp a few long summer dresses with sleeves I bought at the beginning of the year which had become tight and uncomfortable.

And as my tummy has shrunk a bit they hang better too. I'm a comfortable size 16 and I had definitely gone up to a size 18 and was knocking on the door of a size 20 I'm sure of that.

I'll be more than happy if I get to a size 12 at 5' 6 anything less and I'll be amazed. Just getting to a 14 for me will be a momentous occasion tbh.

TantricTwist · 04/09/2020 13:45

@carbhunter I'd probably dip the fish in egg then the coconut flour and fry and eat with a squeeze of lemon with roasted veggies on the side

aceofbase1 · 04/09/2020 17:34

So here I am at the weekend again and this is where my patience is tested Confused I've gone wrong today.

I was sick of eggs so for breakfast just had a Keto shake made with soya milk and some raspberries. It was so so nice but it only filled me up for around 2 hours Sad so I've now had dinner and tried the konjac noodles! Loved them! I fried some chicken fillets and then added some creme fraiche, turmeric, cumin, mixed herbs and some spinach and threw the noodles in after thoroughly rinsing them. They didn't actually have any flavour mixed with the sauce and with the chicken it was so good!!

Now my brain is thinking about chocolate chip cookies Sad

I'm wondering whether I should have some cocoa powder and Greek yogurt - it will take me up close to 1000 calories but I feel like my willpower is being tested so it might be enough to get me through!

Cantteach · 04/09/2020 19:24

Another 1.2lb off which I'm very happy with. Tonight I made cauliflower pizza from a combination of recipes. I used, 1 whole cauliflower, 30g ground almonds, 30g parmesan, 2 tbsp psyillium husk, 75g mozzarella and 2 eggs. Tasted really good, and didn't taste of cauliflower or egg. DH was impressed. My complaint was simply there wasn't enough of it! I could only fit 1/4 of it in my calorie allowance, along wil small portion of coleslaw from book. Dinner was a proper treat but not filling enough.

I made 6 cupcakes today as a gift. When I gave them to recipient they insisted I had one with coffee. Couldn't really decline something I had made so had one. Came home and put it in mfp, nearly 500 calories!!! Won't be doing that again.

CurseryKinkajoo · 04/09/2020 19:44

Good to hear the konjac noodles are good as I bought a pack yesterday to try!!

So it’s Friday night and I’ve been invited out for a few sneaky G&Ts. Normally we have a few plus snacks.

I’ll be going straight after tea so hopefully will resist the snacks but how much does it matter if I drink G&Ts? Is there a best damage limitation technique?!

DuckPancake · 04/09/2020 20:15

Hey folks, haven't posted for a while but I've been working hard and have lost half a stone. Appetite decreased, alertness increased. Utterly stunned.

Purpleraindeer · 04/09/2020 21:20

Did you manage to tough it out aceofbase? I feel your pain - I had a hungry day today, not helped by having run out of coffee so I had a headache from that. But, according to the keto sticks I’m in Ketosis now so hopefully I’ll be feeling better tomorrow like duckpancake

CurseryKinkajoo · 04/09/2020 23:37

So to update on earlier, I’m home now and indulged in 3 Cadbury’s Heroes and 2 G&Ts so if MFP is correct, I’ve managed to come in just under 1000 calls for today but carbs are obviously up. Was so good to see my friends though so worth it Grin

TantricTwist · 05/09/2020 01:17

@CurseryKinkajoo definitely worth it and under 1000 is good.

aceofbase1 · 05/09/2020 09:06

@Purpleraindeer I had some cocoa powder mixed with Greek yogurt, sweetner and raspberries and it felt really indulgent and hit the spot, I tested my wee before bed and again this morning and still in ketosis so I'm not bothered I hit 1000 calories! It's spurrrd me on to stick with it tonight.

I've managed to fully lose the 6lbs I gained last weekend plus another 1lb! So that's 10lb in total in 19 days of doing this so I'm happy with that.

What I have now figured out is that sweetner doesn't spike my blood sugar to bring me out of ketosis which is good to know.
Also that falling off the wagon means I will pile on the pounds and take me a week to remove them!

So this evening I'm having a chicken curry with cauliflower rice (first time trying that!) and I'm going to have a couple of squares of dark chocolate as a treat with some Greek yogurt and berries.

I'm going to try and fast later today too.

Good luck this weekend everyone we're all doing so well.

aceofbase1 · 05/09/2020 09:13

Also how did I forget to mention my NSV! I've gone from Obese to overweight on the BMI calculator! GrinGrinGrin

badasscafe1 · 05/09/2020 09:29

Congratulations Aceofbase-great news. Question- am in midst of sugar withdrawal- headache and nausea... had a salted caramel green tea to just take some of the edge off (although I know just fooling my body) but just realised is 4 calories per cup- is that my fast broken?

RR369 · 05/09/2020 09:42

Congratulations @aceofbase1 that's a great achievement
@badasscafe1 I think there are loads of different opinions on that depending on how "clean" you want your fast to be. I'd probably not count it as breaking a fast today but avoid doing it too often maybe??
Reading everyone's updates is really helping to keep me motivated 😊

aceofbase1 · 05/09/2020 10:52

@badasscafe1 I was told it is breaking a fast but to be honest I'm now having coffee and soya milk every morning first thing but no food until 11am and I'm still counting it as fasting even with the soya milk (37 calories) and I'm still losing weight

Purpleraindeer · 05/09/2020 13:08

Badasscafe views seem to be a bit mixed on whether milk in drinks etc is breaking the fast or not. I’m like aceofbass - I can’t see it makes a lot of difference - it can’t be more than 20cals?

Fab NSVs from tantric and aceofbass Star!

I’m feeling a bit jittery and not quite myself today - a bit like I’ve had 5 cups of strong coffee. Dr Google says that is the effect of transition to Ketosis. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m feeling quite strange.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 05/09/2020 15:26

Afternoon All,

I've been back in school this week and my heads been mashed so I haven't really been on any of my social media.

I've got into a good routine of having a salad at about 12:30 and then my evening meal between 5&6pm. It's been really helpful having all my meals planned this week to be quick and easy things (quicker than a takeaway) that take minimal effort because anything else and I just wouldn't have done it. I'm planning the same for this week.

It's also been extra motivating seeing staff I haven't seen since lockdown began, as obviously having now lost four stone, I look quite different and there's been lots of compliments.

I did my first workout this week today and it was hard! I always forget how quickly the fitness levels drop when you don't do it. At least my steps are double/triple what they were during lockdown which I think is helping to make up for it!

Will go back and read over the thread now. Hope everyone's having a great weekend. 😊
